"We arrived earlier and rooms were not ready. Service is good, offered us an upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment type room which was perfect as we have a sofa area to chill and relax. The rooms were very comfortable and power outlet is available at table in room which is better than charging phone next to bed. The aircon units are great. The bathroom is spacious and water pressure is good. Hairdryer perfect. There is also a full length mirror just outside the bathroom so no one fighting for mirror use to prep going out. The kitchen and sofa area have power outlets too so we can charge nearby while we hang out. The dining area is large enough too. My only set back is the lighting which can be a level brighter."

"On the day I checked in, I left my things in the room and I went shopping. I did leave a Do Not Disturb sign on my door. When I came back, the minute I put down my shopping, someone tried to open my door. Looked through my peep hole and saw a middle aged woman. The key obviously did not work. She left after a while but came back with a bell boy who rang in my doorbell. I opened the door and bellboy apologised and asked if I was staying here. I said I have checked in at 3pm. Bellboy pointed at two luggages and said he sent them to the wrong room? Wait what? Whose are these? The woman said they were hers. Bell boy said he delivered them to the wrong room. Next, front desk called me and asked for my name. Not to apologise but ask for my identity. She confirmed that there’s been a mistake in assigning rooms. I asked her what do I need to do. She said nothing. No apologies. I asked her why the bellboy entered my room even though the Do Not Disturb sign was there. No answer. My advise to those who choose to stay here - double lock your doors and keep your valuables with you. They did not respect my DND sign and entered my room."

"This is our second visit after last summer. Attentive staff, spacious and clean room. Breakfast has a good variety of food and has minor changes daily. Very nice pool on level 4. Gym is well equipped although without any window. Fairly weak Wi-Fi in my room on level 9, on and off despite with maintenance staff assistance which is unacceptable nowadays in 2026. The Smart TV is not connected to network so it’s just a normal TV. Would definitely have rated 5 without these two issues."

"It was a pleasant stay overall.. except that the hand basin was clogged, the traffic noise from the adjacent main roads was a bit too much to bear at times, especially for those light sleepers. There was one early morning that we were abruptly waken up at about 6:30am by the heavy and persistent cigarette smoke from the centralised air conditioning system. With this, we asked for a room changed and the reception was responsive and willing to accommodate to our request."

The Hotel Regal Vista is one of the newest hotels in Ipoh, having been renovated in 2025. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 1km from Ipoh Station and 6km from Sultan Azlan Shah Airport. With Ipoh Mural - No.2 A paper plane, Gerbang Makan and Beijing Health Palace all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. "The moment I opened the door, there was a terrible smell of sweat, which was unacceptable. I reported it to the front desk, and they said they could have the cleaning staff check it, and if the smell really couldn't be fixed, I could switch rooms. However, I couldn't wait, so I went and bought two bottles of air freshener to solve the problem. Thankfully, after spraying almost a whole bottle, the issue was finally resolved, so I didn't change rooms. The room and bathroom are really small. For two people, it felt quite cramped. The water pressure from the sink faucet was very low, which was a bit inconvenient. Luckily, the shower head had good water pressure, allowing for a pleasant shower 🤣. The hairdryer needs improvement; it overheated in less than 5 minutes and needed to rest before I could continue using it 😭. There were no chairs, which was a bit of a hassle. However, they do provide a safe, an iron, and an ironing board for pressing clothes. The air conditioning was slow to cool down, but it eventually got cold; it just needed time to 'warm up' (meaning, to start working effectively). Also, there were quite a few mirrors in the room: one on each side of the bed, a large one above, and a half-length mirror right by the entrance, so you can check yourself out wherever you go 😁. Here are the good things about this hotel: They include a buffet breakfast with an all-you-can-eat option. It's available from 7 AM to 10:30 AM. The selection isn't huge but includes nasi lemak, fried noodles, porridge, clear noodle soup, dim sum, a nutritious breakfast for kids, and salad. Beverages include tea, coffee, plain water, and apparently also lemon water. They have their own free parking spaces for guests, which is a big plus! 👍"

When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. According to our guests, the location of this hotel is one of the best around. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"Ipoh Excelsior Hotel 1. The location is excellent, with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Considering its location, it's a hotel with great value for money. 2. The hotel staff are friendly, polite, and have a good service attitude. They are very enthusiastic about helping guests. 3. Breakfast was decent, though most of the food was on the spicier side. If you don't eat spicy food, there aren't many options, and there was only one type of vegetable. A unique touch was the ice cream offered at breakfast, which kids would surely enjoy. 4. The bathroom didn't provide small hand towels. After washing my hands, I either had to use a bath towel or toilet paper, which ended up leaving paper bits all over my hands, forcing me to rewash them. 5. Overall, this hotel offers good value for money, and its excellent location makes it worth a stay."

"The hotel was good and the breakfast was decent as well. We stayed at level 8, which we were told is one of the newly renovated floors, along with Level 7. However, the room service team did not respond to our request. We left a note on the table requesting room slippers before heading to work in the morning, but the request was not attended to. Ipoh Tiga Pool Villa by Papahost

Title: The Ultimate Fun Villa! Non-Stop Entertainment! ★★★★★ Our stay at this Pool Villa was an absolute blast—it was fantastic from start to finish and completely exceeded our expectations! They have 5 rooms and 7 double beds, pretty spacious for up to 14 people. Top-Notch Entertainment Facilities - A Total Surprise! This place is more than just a private pool; it's a full-blown private entertainment hub! What our group of friends loved most: · Private Karaoke System: The KTV setup was awesome with a massive, up-to-date song library. We found all the latest hits, classics, and Cantonese songs · Retro Arcade Games & Pool Table: The arcade cabinet had so many classic games for a serious nostalgia trip. After that, switching to a competitive game of pool kept the energy high. These facilities really made our trip unforgettable. Thoughtful Touches That Made All the Difference Beyond the fun, it was the thoughtful details that truly impressed us: · Water Dispenser in the Kitchen: Incredibly convenient! No need to boil water or buy loads of bottles. Having instant hot and cold water on tap was a game-changer. · Luxurious Bathtub & Bath Salt: The biggest sweet touch was the owner providing bath salt for us! After a full day of activities, sinking into a fragrant, hot bath was the perfect way to unwind and felt like pure luxury. This small gift added such a personal, caring touch. Verdict: We Will 100% Be Back! This villa perfectly combines a luxurious private space, premium entertainment, and heartfelt service. From swimming to singing, gaming to soaking, everything was seamless—we never had to think about what to do next. I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to all my friends. Whether it's for a big group hangout, a family gathering, or a special celebration, this is the perfect choice. Thank you to the owner for creating such a wonderful space for making memories.

We stayed at Ipoh Bali Hotel for 4 days and 3 nights for our honeymoon, and we’re truly so grateful we chose a local honeymoon instead of flying overseas. This place made our trip feel peaceful, romantic, and memorable. From the moment we checked in, Raidah was incredibly warm, helpful, and friendly and she even checked us out at the end of our stay. Her hospitality really made us feel welcomed and taken care of throughout the trip. All the staff we met during our stay were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Every time we walked past, we were greeted with smiles, which made the atmosphere feel so warm and comfortable. We also had massages during our stay, and the masseuses were amazing. The service honestly felt like a 5-star experience, professional, relaxing, and exactly what we needed after the wedding. A special mention to the breakfast team as well, especially May, who was so kind and attentive. The food was excellent. We loved it so much that we ordered the same dishes twice during our stay, the Balinese chicken porridge and the Balinese rice set (can’t remember the exact name, but it was so good!). The room itself was spacious with beautiful high ceilings, giving such a cozy Bali-inspired atmosphere. One of our favourite parts was the sound of flowing water from the balcony at night It was incredibly calming and helped us sleep so well. The bathroom was also very spacious and came with a lovely bathtub, which made the whole honeymoon experience even more special. Honestly, the hotel felt like a 5-star resort experience to us, so we were surprised to find out it’s officially rated 3 stars. The service, atmosphere, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. Overall, this was the perfect honeymoon stay for us, and we will definitely come back again in the future.

Great Sleep as Always, but Cleanliness and Maintenance are Slipping I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and always keep coming back. True to form, I had a great night's sleep during this visit. However, I noticed that the cleanliness standards have dropped compared to my previous stays. Upon checking in, I found stray hairs left on both the floor and the bedsheets. It is also sad to see that some past guests have been rude and careless with the property, causing the interior to show rapid wear and tear. I really hope management takes proactive steps to maintain the rooms and upgrade the upkeep.

For the price, I think it is a reasonable option.  However objectively: 1. The air-cons don't work well - one of them was leaking.  The staff was helpful in sending contractor to fix while we were out but due to miscommunication (because we have connecting rooms) the ”fix” was made to the air-con that wasn't leaking as badly as the one we complained about.  To be fair they offered to swap rooms but we are a family of 5 and it was a hassle to repack and move so we declined.  2. The hot water was very good despite some reviews.  However the shower head in one of the rooms were such that they don't stay put so occasional splashes happened.  3. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned (we have connecting room) - the ”make my room” card wasn't available in one of the room so we hung on just 1 of the room and left the connecting door open, thinking that the cleaners would clean both.  They only cleaned 1.  I guess we could have outright told reception instead of assuming that the cleaners will clean both rooms since we left the connecting door open.  4. I paid for extra bed - but the bedsheet was dusty - they changed it (or at least vacuumed it) after the first night.  5. The beds were quite comfortable, they offered free bottled water and coffee sachets, tv worked, fridges worked, rooms were decent sized, wifi was ok - ample street parking, the lights were ok but one of the rooms had stark white lights instead of the warmer ones. Location was good, just off the highway and across the eateries in Bercham.  6. The staff were helpful and friendly.  Despite the complaints they texted me and constantly called to check if we needed towels (because one of the room weren't cleaned) and they asked twice if we wanted to change rooms (we didn't because of reason stated above).  7. Suggestion - build a small ramp to go up to the hotel from the road if possible.  It will be helpful for luggage and older folks / wheelchairs etc.  All in all, it was a decent stay.  Price was competitive but cleanliness could be better - and air-con/shower heads can be better maintained.

Stayed there after a long and exhausting event. I chose it primarily as a place to shower, rest, sleep and write some reports, and it served that purpose well. Booking was a breeze, and the hotel is very easy to locate. They use a self-check-in kiosk which is quite straightforward, but the staff didn't hesitate to step in and assist when needed. I stayed in a no window room. Because there’s no window, there was a slightly damp smell when I first walked in. Luckily, I brought my own room spray, so it wasn't an issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. The air conditioning isn't incredibly strong. If you prefer a freezing room, you might struggle, but as someone who isn't a huge fan of intense AC, it was perfectly acceptable to me. Also, the floors are mosaic tiles (no carpet), so I highly recommend bringing your own indoor slippers. On the bright side, the water pressure and hot water in the shower were excellent. There were also more than enough electrical sockets for two people to charge their devices. I didn't use the Wi-Fi, so I can't comment on that. There are water dispenser and iron with board at the corridor on my floor (3rd floor) While the hotel is surrounded by plenty of local restaurants, I opted to order GrabFood because I was too tired. It was super easy, I just asked the rider to leave the food at the lobby. Service: The staff on both the day and night shifts were incredibly helpful and friendly. They genuinely made the place feel welcoming, almost like home. Important Tip on Deposit: Make sure to bring RM50 cash for the security deposit. You can use a card, but the reception mentioned it takes a few days for the bank to release the refund, so cash is much more convenient. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills hotel. If you just need a budget-friendly place to crash after a tiring day, it does the job. Thank you to the kind staff for looking after me!

The location very good. You can walk to many famous restaurants in Ipoh old town. All not more than ten minute, very convenient. House is very big and bed is comfortable. But the smell from the sewer is very strong and extremely unpleasant. It helped when you close the toilet’s door. Not much soundproof, you can hear other guests walking and chatting at the corridor. It can be quite noisy in the morning and night when people passing by. The design of the car park is a nightmare. It’s octagon shaped - really challenging when you drive the car up to level 7 in one go. The management team quite approachable. They will collect RM300 for damage deposit through credit card. And will return in 1-2 days after your check out. ( I haven’t checked if I received the return).

Worth the price you pay! Great location, just beside the highway. Everything is clean, aircond was functioning well, the room is nice. It’s just that the small fridge is not functioning and the water pressure is kinda slow. But I don’t really mind. The front desk was also nice. I will reconsider staying at this hotel again for a short staycation.
