Hotels near Old Town, Galle

"Loved the location, which is within short walking distance to the Galle lighthouse. But what I loved the most was the modern interiors of this Art Deco building . Our room was well designed and clean, complete with a bathtub and lovely marble finishing. I personally felt that the bed was one of the most comfortable I experienced during my week in Sri Lanka. I also enjoyed the sunset views from the rooftop bar and the pool, even though a little small was great for cooling down after exploring the old town on foot. My only comment would be that the shower amenities weren't in a good place, could easily slip during shower time. Breakfast had an option of either local fare (to be prebooked) and western fare which was tasty. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Sri Lanka."

"I booked this hotel for my parents. They are in their 50s. They said, We enjoyed a lot. Staff was so nice and kind. There were side events on Saturday. Food was great. The room is not like in the photos. We couldn’t see the sea from the bed. But the room was comfortable and all that. We will go there again."

"From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by wonderfully friendly staff at the reception desk, and our positive impression continued when we saw our room. It was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean and a perfect space to relax in. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm dipped when we looked out the window. We had eagerly anticipated the sea view we booked, but found ourselves on the first floor looking directly onto the main path to the restaurant. The lack of both a view and privacy was a real disappointment. The challenges were compounded by a local festival taking place during our stay. This rendered the beach unusable due to the sheer volume of people. Worse, the road closures made leaving the hotel a logistical headache, leaving us feeling a bit trapped. A final frustration was discovering there were no shops nearby and no convenience store in the hotel itself, so be sure to pack everything you might need. In summary, while we can't fault the hotel on its cleanliness or the friendliness of its staff, the experience was significantly hampered by the room mix-up and the festival chaos. It wasn’t a bad stay, but it was far from the relaxing getaway we had planned."

"The stay in the hotel was absolutely fantastic. The hotel layout is just beautiful with the open architecture and view of the Galle fortress. The rooms we had were very spacious even for suites. Lovely bathroom, living area, garden, lots of places to rest. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. The hotel is a short distance from the fort so you can walk there and enjoy it while being away from the business. The beds were comfortable and you only hear the ocean, not the street noise. I would give 6 stars if possible."

"We stayed here in June when it’s low season so it’s not crowded. Staff was super friendly and the pool size is huge facing the sea. In June the waves are really rough so can’t go swim in the ocean. Breakfast and Dinner was amazing, hotel restaurant manager and staff’s service was exceptional. Our room was facing the sea so we get to wake up seeing the ocean. Room was very clean, the only thing is there are lots of spider babies around the sink and closet, also some tiny ants around, everything else is really good. We will definitely come again!!"

"The hotel service is very good, the breakfast is rich and delicious, and the room is chic and warm. It is a lighthouse and ancient city wall when you go out, and you can ring the bell when you go home. It is very retro and interesting. It's a pity that time is in a hurry, I really want to stay here for a few more nights! I will still choose it when I come back next time!"
