"If you're traveling with kids to Kyoto and Nara, this hotel is hands down the best choice! 1. It's directly opposite Kyoto Station, making transportation to all surrounding areas super convenient. You can walk to the train or JR station, and there's an indoor walkway right across the street from the hotel, so you won't get hot or sunburnt. 2. There are tons of dining options nearby, so you don't even need to venture out to areas like Shijo. There are also a few shopping malls. 3. Make sure to book the newly renovated room type. They are fresh and clean, and the rooms are spacious – essential when traveling with children. 4. We booked a twin room and stayed with our 8-year-old child; the hotel confirmed there was no extra charge. 5. Do note that check-out is at 11 AM. We didn't realize and left at 12 PM, which incurred a 2,000 yen charge. Just be mindful of the time!"

"The location is great, right next to the subway, making travel and sightseeing very convenient. It's easy to get anywhere. The hotel's cleanliness was acceptable, and the staff were very friendly. On the first day, the room we were assigned had a window facing a cemetery, which was quite depressing. We couldn't switch rooms that night and didn't sleep very well. The next day, after reporting the situation to the front desk, the staff were very cooperative and helped us change rooms smoothly. If you're sensitive about the view outside your window, I recommend telling the front desk in advance to avoid rooms facing this direction when you check in. Overall, it's a convenient place for travel and a good base to stay."

"We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The decor really added to the atmosphere of the place and there was a lovely communal area for relaxing. This offered different seating areas with access to free tea and coffee, a microwave and mini oven. The hotel is directly above a 7/eleven so it was very convenient for bringing in food to eat. There was a laundry room but it was very busy and the washing machine didn't sound very happy and the drying seemed to take people a long time. We were glad to have done washing before arriving here. The room was quite big and the bed was on a raised platform so cases could be stored underneath. It was very dark in the room because of the decor. We did sleep well. The bathroom was very modern and clean with a wet room style shower. All areas of the hotel were very clean throughout our stay and staff were visibly working to maintain a high standard. Kyoto was extremely busy at the time of our stay (during golden week) so we focused our visits to places that could be walked to or accessed from the Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. We did one trip that involved buses and it was horrendously busy with the longest queues at bus stops we've ever seen."

"Great location! There's a bus stop right downstairs that goes to many attractions, and Nijo Castle and the subway station are just 300 meters north. The hotel lobby is simple and stylish. The room layout is well-designed, clean, and just the right size for a solo traveler. On the first floor, there's a common area with a coffee machine, various tea bags, and a microwave for heating food. The rooftop has a small observation deck with street views. The lobby staff were very welcoming and polite."

"This is my second time booking this hotel, and its location is fantastic. It's right by the Kamo River, next to Gojo Bridge, and just about a 10-15 minute walk from Kyoto's busiest area, Shijo Street, near Gion. The train station is also about the same walking distance. The hotel is very clean and convenient, and they even provide all the toiletries and skincare products, which is a nice touch."

"I had a wonderful stay at Sequence Kyoto Gojo and would happily stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto. The hotel is modern, stylish, and exceptionally clean. My room was thoughtfully designed, making great use of the space while still feeling comfortable and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful after a full day of exploring Kyoto. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Gojo Station, with convenience stores, cafés, and restaurants nearby. It made getting around Kyoto incredibly easy. What truly made my stay special was the kindness of the staff. To my surprise, they prepared a small birthday gift for me during my stay. I have no idea how they knew it was my birthday, but it was such a thoughtful gesture that genuinely touched my heart. It wasn’t about the gift itself—it was the care and effort behind it that made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. "We chose this hotel mainly because of its great location near Kyoto Station, as well as several nearby bus stops, and it turned out to be a very practical choice for our stay. The room was overall good. It wasn’t necessarily a huge favorite of ours during the trip, but it was functional and had everything we needed. The staff were absolutely lovely and always very kind. A special mention as well for the housekeeping staff, everything was consistently very clean during our stay. The hotel also has an eco friendly approach, so they avoid unnecessary daily cleaning. Towels and essentials were still replaced regularly, and complimentary bottles of water were provided every day. A big plus was the laundry area on the ground floor, which was really convenient during our trip. The area was generally calm and we slept well overall. You can still hear some cars and outside noise at times, so the sound insulation may not be perfect, but honestly it was nothing shocking and it didn’t affect our stay in any negative way. As for the downsides, the TV was extremely small and unfortunately it wasn’t possible to connect to Netflix or streaming apps. The room and bathroom were also on the smaller side. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and found the hotel very comfortable and convenient for visiting Kyoto."

"A very good hotel, quite well located and quiet. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The only downside was the fluctuating internet connection during our stay. The welcome was warm with thoughtful touches for the guest. I highly recommend this hotel if you're coming to Kyoto!"

"This hotel is super convenient, right by Kyoto Station, just a 5-minute walk. Plus, there's a Lopia and Takashimaya nearby, which is a bonus. The room itself was really new. We stayed for four nights, and on the third night, we noticed the air conditioner was leaking a bit. I looked it up online, and it seems like it might be a clogged drain pipe. We had our child with us, and I had already disinfected so many surfaces in the room with alcohol wipes, so we just decided to stick with it rather than change rooms. I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto. I've stayed at three hotels in Kyoto, and this one offered great value for money, especially at around 450 RMB during the summer. Oh, and there are tons of great food options around Kyoto Station! Just a heads-up: avoid Touyoutei. We ordered a set meal and then a cake, and after waiting 40 minutes for the cake, it still hadn't arrived. Our little one was practically falling asleep waiting!"

"I initially booked for only two nights before my trip, and later when I wanted to extend my stay, I found the price had doubled, which I regretted. However, the actual experience was excellent. The hotel's hot spring was free to use and very relaxing. The complimentary matcha in the lobby was available anytime and was a lovely touch. The breakfast spread over three days was never the same, with a rich variety of seafood, hot dishes, and fruits that were all delicious. Looking back, even though the room rate increased, considering all these amenities included, it was still quite reasonable. Next time, I'll book for a longer duration in advance to avoid similar issues."
