"As a Chinese traveler who has stayed at several hotels in Kathmandu, I absolutely have to write a detailed review and heartily recommend this gem of a hotel to all my compatriots visiting Nepal! First and foremost, what truly impressed me was the impeccable cleanliness – a rarity in this region. I've stayed in many local hotels where yellowed, musty towels were the norm, but this place was entirely different. All the linens were sparkling white and felt crisp and fresh, matching the hygiene standards of high-end hotels back home. It made me feel completely at ease. Not just the rooms, even the public restrooms in the lobby were spotless and odor-free. The attention to detail surpassed many star-rated hotels, which, as a Chinese person, instantly made me feel a sense of familiarity and reassurance. The hotel owner is incredibly kind. Not only is he handsome, but he speaks Chinese even better and more fluently than many of my Chinese friends, making communication completely seamless and smooth. He’s more like a thoughtful elder figure; whether it's planning itineraries, exchanging currency, booking taxis, or asking about local food and entertainment, he patiently answers every question and tries his best to help with any request. Throughout my stay, I felt incredibly well-cared for, completely dispelling any sense of unfamiliarity in a foreign land. The biggest surprise was the authentic Chinese restaurant on the ground floor, specializing in Sichuan cuisine – the flavors were stunningly genuine! As a Chinese person who loves spicy food, it was an absolute delight to find such authentic Sichuan dishes in Kathmandu. The numbing, spicy, fresh, and aromatic notes were perfectly balanced; every bite tasted like home. It was on par with proper Sichuan restaurants in China, and I happily ate there multiple times without getting tired of it. It truly cured my Chinese craving. Overall, from hygiene and service to dining, everything far exceeded my expectations. To find such a clean, caring, and 'taste of home' hotel in Kathmandu was truly fortunate. I strongly recommend it to all Chinese travelers visiting Nepal; it will undoubtedly be the warmest haven during your journey. The next time I come to Kathmandu, this will still be my top choice!"

"Excellent location, within walking distance to the Thamel area. It's close enough to be convenient but far enough to be quiet. We were offered warm drinks during check-in, which was a nice touch, especially in winter. The room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a cake for us. The laundry service was also very convenient and efficient. All the staff were very helpful. The gentleman who helped with our luggage even assisted us in identifying our car by its license plate (as all license plates here use Arabic numerals), and the front desk staff helped us book bus tickets."

"Absolutely loved the hotel and stay! Cosy clean rooms, great vibes, food and passionate service (from security guards to housekeepers at every level)! Breakfast buffet has great selections and very tasty menu, service staff is extremely attentive to your needs and service deserves great commendation (every single one of them)! It was a bit difficult to read the names off the badges, managed to only saw Sabina’s and Arun’s name but there are just so many more staff whom I’d like to show appreciation from front desk to concierge and really everyone! They do not just serve you but engage with you through conversations making you feel at ease and like at home during the stay. Liked how the laundry system works and also the gym which are both 24 hours. No complaints at all and I would definitely like to stay here again when I am at Nepal the next round. 10/10 recommend and you will have no regrets!"

"I stayed in Kathmandu for a few nights this time and really loved the vibe of this hotel. The room was super comfortable, giving me that cozy 'home away from home' feeling. The bed was great too; coming back and lying down on it every day felt so relaxing. The room was kept very clean, and the overall environment was quiet, so I wasn't disturbed at all while sleeping. The hot water in the bathroom was consistent, and the water pressure was strong, which made showers really comfortable – a truly important detail for travelers. The location was also very convenient; I could walk to many places. There were money exchange spots and a small supermarket nearby, making it very easy to get daily necessities. Overall, it's a hotel that makes you feel very relaxed and at ease. If I come back to Kathmandu, I would definitely want to stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Nepal."

"🏔️ Hotel Nepalaya is a perfect experience! I fell in love with it as soon as I walked in - quiet, clean, and full of Nepalese style. The location is super convenient, and you can walk to the downtown of Thamel, but the hotel is like a paradise. 🛏️ The room is super comfortable - Traditional Newar style, beautiful wooden windows - The bed is super soft, the bathroom is spacious, and there is plenty of hot water (so rare in Kathmandu!) - Every day when I wake up, I can see the sun pouring in through the curtains 🍛 The food is so delicious! - The rooftop restaurant has a great view, and the masala milk tea and fresh fruits for breakfast are amazing - Dal Bhat (bean soup rice) is authentic and cheap 💖 The service is so warm that it makes me cry - The staff's smile is super healing and they are always ready to help - Free hot packs, help contact tour guides, and give small gifts before leaving ⚠️ The only drawback: I don’t want to leave after moving in! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (must be five stars!) Suitable for: travelers who want value for money + unique experience Next time I come to Kathmandu, I will definitely stay here again! 🌸"

"The hotel is very modern, with a comfortable decor. The breakfast is plentiful, and the service is attentive. It's very close to the Great Stupa; you can see it just by opening the window. It's also close to Wat Shekcheon. I would definitely stay here again next time."

"The room is spacious and well located. However, the room smelled of cigarettes, water was dripping from the air conditioner, and I saw about 10 small cockroaches. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee and tea provided at breakfast are free, but my husband ordered Americano without knowing it and was charged for 2 cups at checkout."

"Here are a few suggestions for Mila Hotel: 1. The front desk and reception staff are polite and friendly, actively assisting with various issues. 2. The new bathroom facilities are excellent. 3. There is no water dispenser, and using bottled water is not environmentally friendly. 4. The caps of the glass bottles provided in the rooms are rusty and even moldy, which is the only disappointing aspect."

"I absolutely loved the quiet location of this hotel, especially considering it's in Kathmandu's Thamel area. It's a new building that offers incredible value for money. The owner spoke Korean so well, which was a pleasant surprise! The facilities are impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the staff are genuinely friendly. The room size isn't huge, which is a bit of a drawback, but it comes with a coffee pot, coffee, tea, and a hairdryer. The basic amenities provided were excellent. I even burst out laughing when I saw they had a luggage scale on the first floor, so thoughtful! It was great that there was no noise between the rooms, but the hallway noise was quite loud. During the night, the hallway noise was disturbing when trying to sleep, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it's a very clean room with excellent value for money."

"Superb service from this hotel! They offer free pick up service so I have no worries to travel from airport to hotel around midnight. Their breakfast is fantastic, their staffs are very helpful, one of the staffs even came and asked if I need any bacon and he cooked on the spot for me. I booked a deluxe single room but I get a twin bedroom which is much more spacious. Lovely atmosphere, great location in the city, the street is quiet even though nearby the busy Thamel street. The hotel manager, Mega, is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!"
