Spa Hotels in Kathmandu

We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. The whole hotel system seems to be created with foreigners in mind. I stayed for 2 nights, while my family stayed for 3 nights. I originally booked the 2 nights through Trip.com. When I wanted to add an extra day, I was informed it was better to book it again online. At that time, I was in Nepal for 3 days and my phone was being repaired in Hong Kong, so I didn’t have access to my usual email or digital wallet. I had Nepali cash, but the payment system wouldn’t allow it, and I was denied the option to add more nights directly at the front desk. I tried booking again using my temporary phone, but the credit/card wouldn’t allow it—possibly because the phone and location were new and my digital wallet couldn’t be used. The only solution was asking a friend to book the additional night for me. This experience made me feel that the system is not friendly to Nepali guests and that they may strongly prefer online foreign-currency-style payment methods rather than Nepali rupees. I also tried to get the Nepali rate. It was around NPR 12,000–15,000, while the online rate was significantly cheaper. Based on the current currency conversion, the price difference felt like it could be about 3,000–5,000 rupees less online. This also made me feel they may not truly support Nepali pricing equally. The front desk staff were sometimes helpful, but they often didn’t seem genuine. Some staff seemed reluctant and not truly welcoming or happy to assist. In contrast, the only people who felt consistently happy to see me amd my family were the housekeeping staff and the guards. About the room it’s a bit small. I took a long warm shower, and after a while the water started leaking toward the bedroom corridor. However, there were also positives—despite being in Kathmandu, the tap had good water flow and the water color looked clear, not yellowish (and not as low-flow). Overall, the stay didn’t feel welcoming to me or my family. I’m not sure if this is because the system is designed not to cater well to Nepali guests, or simply because the staff attitude was “blah.” Would I stay again? It feels like 50–50. My honest advice is: if you’re not Nepali, you will love it. But if you are Nepali and want to feel genuinely welcomed, you should think carefully—because you could spend the same amount or much more less at a family-owned business and likely feel much more respected and welcomed.

This is definitely the first choice for business travelers in Kathmandu. Overall, it's very good. The only issue was that the desk in the room wasn't very functional for working. Another downside was that my flight turned back, so I missed a night, but couldn't get a refund.

This is a newly built hotel, and it's rare to find such clean bathrooms in Nepal. It's located in a quiet spot at the entrance of Thamel, right next to the Garden of Dreams. While it's a bit far from central areas like Durbar Square, it's a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet at the hotel. Since it seems brand new, the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was also spotless, so I felt very comfortable using it. The breakfast area on the 8th floor offered a lovely view. The front desk staff were polite, but during breakfast, I noticed other guests were asked for their egg orders, whereas I wasn't (perhaps because I had already taken scrambled eggs). Also, coffee (other than instant) at breakfast was an extra charge.

Good hotel. They offer airport transfers, but you need to exit the building first and then call the greeter. There was a strange incident during breakfast when a hotel employee entered my room without permission. I hope this doesn't happen again.

Hotel Lo Mustang is located in Thamel And its unique selling point has to be its location as it is very close to all of the shops bars and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and the WiFi is very strong

Absolutely loved my stay here! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, cozy, and exactly what I needed after a long day of exploring. The location is unbeatable too, just a short walk from the main attractions. Would definitely book again and recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

Location is amazing in Thamel, super easy to walk around for food and many things Staff at front desk was very friendly and helpful And there is a cocktail coupon every day Only breakfast was too late because my schedule to leave at 9 am but it was ready at 8.30 am and two days in a row. Overall it is very nice hotel to stay when you go to Kathmandu

The service at this hotel is truly impressive, with excellence evident in both hardware and software. Upon arrival, the concierge proactively helped with the luggage. The front desk staff greeted us with warm smiles, efficiently handled the check-in process, and thoughtfully informed us about breakfast hours and the Wi-Fi password. The P2 staff were very enthusiastic, personally guiding us to the room and introducing the amenities. The room was tidy, comfortable, and well-equipped, with particularly satisfying bedding. The housekeeping department responded promptly and with a friendly attitude. To our delight, the hotel also prepared fresh fruits, showcasing their attention to detail. The overall stay was exceptionally pleasant, making us feel genuinely at home. I highly recommend it to everyone and will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

I have stayed in this hotel multiple times but it gets progressively worse each stay. The only good thing is the location, the fact that it is near the airport and it’s only good for international arrival passengers not for departures. As someone who had quite a heavy luggage and a morning flight, it sure was an excruciating workout to walk a steep ramp with a trolley full of luggages to reach the departure hall which is entirely on another platform compared to the arrival halls. I’d only recommend it to people who have lighter luggages, arriving passengers and/or people who have late night flights because a having a hotel near saves a lot of time . The rooms were fine but there were a lot of insects likes moths, even though all the windows and doors were shut close. The beddings had stains and the worse part was that there were feces stains in the toilet which showed that cleaning was not done properly, even though they made me wait 20-30 mins to just to check in after arriving at the hotel. The good thing is that the staff were very attentive, especially the man in the reception. He was very kind, friendly and knowledgeable.
