Hotels in Changshou Road Commercial Area, Shanghai

The room was incredibly clean, and the bedding was super comfortable, so I had a wonderful night's sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was really convenient. I chose this hotel last minute for my trip to Shanghai, and it turned out to be excellent value for money!

We needed an emergency hotel our flight was canceled due to to typhoon Bavi and ended up on this hotel. We picked it for its location to our favorite restaurant Hui Flavor. We enjoyed our stay. The younger attendants who checked us in at night were a bit too forward and borderline rude yet in the morning the attendants were really really professional and courteous, they more than maybe up for the night. The gym attendants was amazing and was probably the highlight of the trip in terms of staff.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby, making it suitable for both business trips and tourism. It's especially close to the Bund, where hotel prices are usually very high. Compared to those, this place offers great value for money. The room facilities are comprehensive, including a washing machine and a refrigerator, plus complimentary drinks. Housekeeping service is provided daily, and the service is also very good. I highly recommend it!

This hotel experience was absolutely fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly patient during check-in, explaining all the charges clearly and thoroughly. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff were consistently kind and attentive throughout. The service was top-notch. This is my go-to choice for accommodation when traveling; I'll definitely be back!

For this trip to Shanghai, I still chose Home Inn, and I'm very satisfied. The room was very clean. It can get quite humid in the south when it rains, so I thought the room might be a bit damp, but it was surprisingly dry and comfortable. The best part is that I got an upgrade to a 1.8m king-sized room. Home Inn's quality is consistently good.

This appears to be an older hotel though maintenance was done to keep things running and clean. It is in a good location in the city for our planned activities. There was ease of access and I liked that the facility had laundry self service available on site 24 hours per day. The laundry access was the most important because I traveled light and I went in August when it was the hottest and most humid time in Shanghai. Staff were professional and greeter at the door helped with opening and closing car doors and getting luggage out of car. Hotel lobby was well lit and spacious and comfortable. My parents with my sisters got a room with a broken bathroom door and non-working phone. Once staff were informed, they were quick to move them to a different room. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to fully explore the hotel and utilize the gym and swimming pool. The hotel room I had was comfortable with everything working. It was well lit and the AC system functioned very well. The only thing I did not like was the smoke smell in the hallways. Smoking cigarettes is a huge problem in China and of course the hotel has no control over this. However they can implement better air filtration and cleaning systems as many travelers may be asthmatic or have strong allergic sensitivity to the smoke particles.

Very close to the subway station and easy to find. The lady at the front desk even offered some great tips for getting around the area. The cleanliness was also decent.

The place was really comfortable, and ordering takeout was super convenient – just leave a note, and they get it right. You need your room card to use the elevator, so make sure not to forget it! It's a good safety measure, and there are cameras in the hallways too. The room itself was very cozy, and well-equipped, which is why I extended my stay for another day, making it a three-night visit. Having a washer-dryer combo was incredibly handy. If it didn't have that, I honestly probably would have only stayed for two nights, but the laundry facility was a huge plus, and a big reason I stayed an extra day. The only drawback is that walking to the subway station can be a bit tiring. If you have the budget, a taxi is an option, but I didn't consider it at the time – most of my money was going towards food! So, I usually only went out closer to sunset when the temperature dropped a bit. It was just too hot during the day. Don't go out during the day on the 19th, Shanghai is scorching! I should have gone out later on my last night, the 19th, when I went to the Bund. My feet were so sore afterward because my itinerary was quite hectic, which also led me to extend my stay for another day. Be careful of the steps near the bed; you could easily trip, but don't worry, I never did. You get used to it after a day. Also, watch out for the lamp above the bed when you get up; you might bump your head. I was originally with my family, but they had to go back to work that night, so I stayed by myself. There are tons of takeout options nearby, and lots of delicious food. However, takeout generally takes about half an hour to arrive, which was quite noticeable. I doubt I'll be back in Shanghai for a second time anytime soon, probably several years from now, as I plan to explore other cities for my next trips. I didn't use the hotel's shampoo or shower gel, but I saw other reviews saying they were pretty good. As for cleaning, the staff (who finish at 6 PM) usually knock on your door around their shift end to ask if you want your room cleaned. If you're not there, they'll go in themselves, tidy up, and replace disposable items and towels. If you're heading out, just hang the 'Please clean my room' sign on the outside doorknob. When you return, your room will likely have been cleaned.

I've stayed here every time I've visited Shanghai, and the environment is great! Most importantly, it's clean! Cleanliness is paramount! There's a Starbucks downstairs, and it's convenient to get to many places, but you need to book a taxi in advance, otherwise you'll wait a long time! I'll definitely be back to my home away from home next time!
