An unexpectedly great stay! The room was clean, hygienic, and not at all damp. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, completely contrary to some of the negative reviews I'd read. There's some renovation work happening nearby (see pic 4), which I was warned about when booking, but even as a light sleeper, I wasn't bothered by it at all. The location is excellent, with lots of international guests, making it a perfect choice for business travelers!

《A Leisurely Day at Donghu: Relax, Swim, and Savor》 Donghu Hotel offers elegant twin rooms that are warm and tranquil. The wooden floors, bathed in soft light, complement the clean and refined bathroom. A day spent here feels utterly relaxed and unhurried. Breakfast is simple yet nourishing. Warm soy milk soothes the stomach, while corn, sweet potatoes, and steamed buns provide ample carbs. Stir-fried seasonal vegetables, alongside braised meats and nuts, offer a balanced and wholesome meal, preparing you for the day ahead. In the afternoon, I headed to the hotel's pool for a refreshing swim. The crystal-clear water shimmered with ripples. Underwater, the water enveloped my body, stretching my shoulders and back, relieving the fatigue from prolonged sitting. Switching to breaststroke, the kicking and pulling stretched my core and limbs, my heart and lungs rising and falling rhythmically. Sweat dissipated with the water, washing away all my accumulated weariness. After my swim, I moved to ”Xiji Gangjiu” to try some Cantonese dim sum. Each dish was a delight. Garlic oysters are nourishing and rich in protein, while spring onion chicken replenishes vital energy. Fresh shrimp and coriander dumplings are light and appetizing. Beef balls with choi sum provide excellent protein and dietary fiber, and the two-tone water chestnut cake is delightfully sweet and refreshing. The combination of seafood, poultry, vegetables, and grains was well-balanced—fresh, not greasy, and wonderfully wholesome. A dip in the 'azure waters' stretched my muscles and bones, a 'Cantonese feast' nourished my body, and the elegant room provided a sanctuary for my mind. With a perfect blend of activity and rest, and nourishing food, a day of leisure at Donghu Hotel brought a deep sense of peace, relaxation, and freedom.

I found this Puyan Hotel last minute for a business trip to Shanghai. The location is incredibly convenient. You can see the hotel right outside Exit 5 of Dashijie Metro Station, which serves both Line 8 and Line 14. The hotel lobby is clean and bright. The room hygiene was also excellent. All the service staff were very polite. The front desk staff were also incredibly helpful and patient. They even offered to help with my luggage, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Shanghai. It's close to many popular attractions. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Shanghai. Thank you to all the staff.

The noodle bar is popular and might require queuing during peak hours. * **T'ang Court**: A Michelin Two-Star Cantonese restaurant, and one of the hotel's signature dining venues. * **Lobby Lounge**: Offers the classic Langham Champagne Afternoon Tea. The Cachet Restaurant features a live band, creating a great ambiance that attracts many visitors specifically for the dining experience. 3. **Generally Good Service** Most guests report prompt responses from the front desk and housekeeping. Turndown service is provided. Guests celebrating birthdays often receive a complimentary small cake. Member benefits are generous, with some guests receiving free room upgrades. Standard toiletries are from Diptyque, with a sophisticated scent. Rooms are equipped with wireless charging, a wet/dry separated bathroom, and a dual setup of a bathtub and shower. 4. **Recreational Facilities** Located on B1, there's a heated indoor swimming pool with excellent natural light and long opening hours. A 24-hour gym is available, and the Forbes Four-Star 'Chuan SPA' offers traditional Chinese treatments.

The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and odorless. The environment and facilities truly reflect a people-oriented approach, paying attention to the smallest details. However, there's a slight disappointment: I had requested a south-facing room when booking, but unfortunately, my request wasn't fulfilled this time. A south-facing room is my first and only preference when staying at a hotel, as it allows me to open the window for ventilation, fresh air, and a good view.

This hotel exudes an old-money charm. I booked a night at the Garden Hotel for a staycation, just to switch things up. It's a classic for a reason – the location is unbeatable; it's a leisurely 15-minute stroll back from the Shanghai Culture Square. Not to mention the stunning large lawn and the gorgeous Art Deco interiors. The service was excellent across the board, the pool was great for a swim, and breakfast offered the usual five-star Chinese and Western options, plus the Garden Hotel's special Japanese breakfast 😎. All in all, a very satisfying stay.

Mallet Villa is a historic and atmospheric accommodation that shouldn't be judged by the standards of a modern luxury hotel. The entire old building has a wonderful ambiance, and my kids absolutely loved it. My only minor regret is that the soundproofing needs improvement. I could hear every movement in the hallway and conversations from the next room very clearly at night. There's a daily historical tour of the villa at 10 AM. On the day we attended, the general manager happened to be there and even corrected some details in the staff's presentation on the spot, demonstrating a rigorous approach to the historical narrative. That left a deep impression on me. I also want to specially commend staff member Xiao Guan for their thoughtful, patient, and meticulous service. Although the old building has objective hardware limitations, the overall stay experience was very unique. You can immerse yourself in old Shanghai's history, and it's truly worth experiencing. I'm giving it a full five-star rating.

Pros: Conveniently located near the Bund and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, even within walking distance. It's quiet with good soundproofing, clean, and features new facilities, including a washing machine and dryer. The service attitude is excellent. Cons: No elevator, so food deliveries can't be brought upstairs – you have to go down to get them yourself. The TV remote control seemed to be mismatched.

The hotel boasts a prime location in Xuhui District, very close to significant historical sites, Xintiandi, Nanjing Road, The Bund, and Yu Garden. Public transportation is easily accessible, and ride-sharing services are readily available. There are plenty of dining options, with restaurants right outside the hotel. The facilities are a bit dated, but this doesn't detract from the aforementioned advantages.

The room overall is quite small, which is to be expected in such a prime location. The ceiling height is very low, making it feel a bit cramped. The air conditioning vent blows directly onto the head of the bed, giving me a headache at night. We ended up sleeping with our heads at the foot of the bed instead. The location is excellent, with many shopping malls within walking distance, making dining very convenient.
