The hotel's location is convenient, making travel and sightseeing very easy. The breakfast quality was great, with fresh and authentic Chinese dishes, pastries, and dairy products. Overall, my trip and stay were secure and comfortable. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time and highly recommend it! Stir-fried seasonal vegetables, alongside braised meats and nuts, offer a balanced and wholesome meal, preparing you for the day ahead. In the afternoon, I headed to the hotel's pool for a refreshing swim. The crystal-clear water shimmered with ripples. Underwater, the water enveloped my body, stretching my shoulders and back, relieving the fatigue from prolonged sitting. Switching to breaststroke, the kicking and pulling stretched my core and limbs, my heart and lungs rising and falling rhythmically. Sweat dissipated with the water, washing away all my accumulated weariness. After my swim, I moved to ”Xiji Gangjiu” to try some Cantonese dim sum. Each dish was a delight. Garlic oysters are nourishing and rich in protein, while spring onion chicken replenishes vital energy. Fresh shrimp and coriander dumplings are light and appetizing. Beef balls with choi sum provide excellent protein and dietary fiber, and the two-tone water chestnut cake is delightfully sweet and refreshing. The combination of seafood, poultry, vegetables, and grains was well-balanced—fresh, not greasy, and wonderfully wholesome. I found this Puyan Hotel last minute for a business trip to Shanghai. The location is incredibly convenient. You can see the hotel right outside Exit 5 of Dashijie Metro Station, which serves both Line 8 and Line 14. The hotel lobby is clean and bright. The room hygiene was also excellent. All the service staff were very polite. The front desk staff were also incredibly helpful and patient. They even offered to help with my luggage, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Shanghai. It's close to many popular attractions. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Shanghai. Thank you to all the staff.

This time, my room was spotless, the soundproofing was excellent, and I had a lovely view of the Art Park. The hotel breakfast also offers local specialties, and the xiaolongbao were quite good. There's a laundry room with a washer and a dryer, but they were a bit complicated to operate, so I hope they can improve that.

Mallet Villa is a historic and atmospheric accommodation that shouldn't be judged by the standards of a modern luxury hotel. The entire old building has a wonderful ambiance, and my kids absolutely loved it. My only minor regret is that the soundproofing needs improvement. I could hear every movement in the hallway and conversations from the next room very clearly at night. There's a daily historical tour of the villa at 10 AM. On the day we attended, the general manager happened to be there and even corrected some details in the staff's presentation on the spot, demonstrating a rigorous approach to the historical narrative. That left a deep impression on me. I also want to specially commend staff member Xiao Guan for their thoughtful, patient, and meticulous service. Although the old building has objective hardware limitations, the overall stay experience was very unique. You can immerse yourself in old Shanghai's history, and it's truly worth experiencing. I'm giving it a full five-star rating.

The lighting in the room was a bit dim and mostly yellow-toned. The air conditioning unit was quite old and took several tries to turn on or off. Out of two bedside tables, only one had a charging outlet, which was very inconvenient. There were only disposable paper cups, no ceramic or glass ones. The bathroom was very small, the faucet switch was a bit noisy, and the toilet flush wasn't very powerful. The room's soundproofing was also quite poor. On the positive side, having a fridge in the room was great, though it might get a bit noisy at night. The hotel's location is good, making it convenient to visit various attractions, and the service attitude was also decent. Hope for further improvements.
