Overall, a fantastic experience! The room was spotless, the bedding was comfy, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a great night's sleep. The front desk staff were warm and professional, making check-in a breeze. The location is super convenient, and it offers great value for money. We booked a family room, and it was really spacious with lovely touches that the kids adored, making it feel very welcoming. Breakfast was also amazing, with a huge variety of options. We'll definitely choose this hotel again next time we're in Zhongwei!

I stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!

Everything about this place was a pleasant surprise! The courtyard-style architecture is quiet and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing stay. I could enjoy the beautiful Yellow River scenery right from my room. The cleanliness was excellent, and the room's interior decor was unique and stylish. But the absolute best part was the service. Since the hotel is managed by the Shapotou Scenic Area, I received a discount on the entrance tickets. The room rate also included three meals, and what really surprised me was the high quality of the food. There was no sense of them cutting corners just because it was part of a package; the dishes were plentiful and delicious. And every staff member in the courtyard was outstanding – a huge thank you to them! They genuinely put a lot of effort into making sure everyone loves both the courtyard and the Shapotou Scenic Area. It wasn't just the courtyard staff; other staff members at Shapotou were also excellent. They advised me on the most efficient way to explore, saving time and effort. Plus, all the activities in the scenic area were incredibly fun. Personally, the food, accommodation, and activities were all delightful surprises. I hope to come back with my family next time and stay for a few more days.

The views here are all desert landscapes, exactly as described in the reviews I saw online before booking. The photos are very realistic, and the environment truly feels like something out of an ancient poem. Although it's in the desert and the wind and sand can be intense, my accommodation was spotless. All the essential facilities were provided and easy to use, making my stay very convenient. The service was excellent, and the owner was incredibly helpful. Before we arrived, they even reminded us about easily forgotten items, and once we got there, they gave us great tips on how to explore the area. We had a fantastic time!

A very new hotel with larger-than-life rooms and beds that feel like apartments. The location is midway between Shapotou and Zhongwei City, so it may not be ideal for some looking for nightlife, but there are several inexpensive restaurants in walking distance, so it's easy enough to get food. The bus stop of number 2 going to the city and the sand dunes is 5 minutes walk away - just time it right because there's one bus per hour in each direction. There's Chinese-style breakfast included which may not be for everyone but it was filling. Definitely worth the money! Had a blissful rest here and would go back.

This self-guided desert tour is absolutely amazing! The desert scenery is majestic and magnificent, and the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the golden sand dunes, as beautiful as a painting. The campsite facilities are complete and the staff are warm and caring. The food is diverse, the roasted whole lamb is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the aroma is overflowing. Camel riding, sand boarding and other activities are super exciting. Moreover, the self-guided itinerary is free and allows you to deeply experience the charm of the desert. Highly recommended, looking forward to coming again next time!

Stayed for two nights and tried two different room types: a log cabin and a lotus tent. The housekeeper's service is very good. He replies to WeChat messages and answers phone calls immediately at any time. It makes tourists who are not familiar with camping projects feel very reassured. The breakfast is very rich. During holidays, it is recommended to go there just after the meal starts, when there are fewer people and you can enjoy the special food slowly. The desert project package can be purchased directly at the registration desk, which is very convenient. The sandboard can be used for free and unlimited sliding. We stayed in Dongge Camp for a whole day. The next day, the housekeeper helped us contact Master Wang to charter a car to visit several popular attractions in Zhongwei. The half-day tour was not too fast or too slow, and the experience was very good. Recommended to all friends who want to camp in the desert and charter a car

The Starry Sky RV we stayed in had plenty of space and was very clean. There was plenty of hot water for washing, and it also had a smart toilet. Although there are not many programs on TV, the mobile phone signal is still very good and there is no problem surfing the Internet. There were only two problems. One was that the motor of the starry sky ceiling curtain was broken and could only be pushed and pulled by hand. The other was that the air conditioner would automatically shut down after heating for a period of time, resulting in a low temperature inside the RV. Fortunately, there is an electric blanket, so heating is basically no problem. The camp staff are enthusiastic and solve problems in a timely manner. We ordered beef hotpot and dry pot cauliflower for dinner at the restaurant. The price was a bit high, but the taste was okay, and there was a lot of beef. The bonfire and fireworks were nice. There is a fee for outdoor stargazing during the peak season, but I didn't participate due to bad weather. It was fun to have unlimited sandboarding. You didn’t need to bring your own sandboard, and you could pick up sand-digging tools in the camp, all of which were very clean. Overall, it's a good campsite. It was just too windy during the May Day holiday.

I absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.
