Amazing
XXiaoyezi::This newly opened hotel is, in my opinion, one of the best on Koh Samet. Most places on the island are typically guesthouses, regardless of their star rating, but this one actually feels like a proper hotel. The towels are very thick, amenities are provided, and there's even a laundry bag. The toilet is Kohler, the TV is TCL, and the room is spacious and, surprisingly, very clean. The only minor downsides might be the slightly low water pressure and the somewhat noisy air conditioning, but these are small issues in an otherwise great stay. It has its own quiet beach, and I'm very satisfied with everything. It's been a long time since I've stayed in a hotel I've been this happy with. Of course, I'm comparing it to the older, often overpriced guesthouses on the island – this hotel is an absolute gem! The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is a buffet, which is quite extensive for a hotel of this size. If it's priced at 600-700 baht, it's an incredibly good deal for this island!
JjanzzyOverall, I'm very satisfied! After arriving by bus, we walked about 600m to the pier reception, then took a slow boat to the hotel's pier. Baan is the closest of the four hotels to the pier (as shown in the last picture), which was a huge relief! It's just a 1-minute walk, saving us the hassle of getting a tuk-tuk.
The hotel isn't luxurious, but it's quiet and elegant. I especially loved the tree by the beach. Being close to Christmas, the evenings here left a wonderful impression on me!
The room was quite spacious, with an IKEA-esque style. There's an outdoor balcony, perfect for reading in the morning. Outside the room, there's a chocolate drink shop where you can grab a drink to enjoy on the beach. To the north, it's less crowded and beautifully scenic – I really love it here!
Breakfast was also quite extensive, with several dishes you could select individually. The staff's attitude was much better than in many places in Bangkok. I'm especially grateful that on my first day, I forgot my DJI drone, and the front desk staff kept it safe for me until I returned. Thank you!
Oh, and there's a small restaurant run by an old man to the north that's absolutely delicious! Try the Tom Yum Goong and Mama noodles! My husband and I, along with the Swedish couple at the next table, completely cleaned our plates. Highly recommend: ร้านเจ้กิวลุงเตี้ย
GGuest UserThe hotel is located across the road from a beautiful beach. They offer good breakfast, comfortable beds, and spacious rooms. On the downside, there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom, and no clothes drying rack on the balcony.
GGuest UserThis hotel is clearly not a 4 star level. I would rate it a 2 star or 3 star max. The two good points about this hotel are its direct access to the beach and the delicious food at reasonable prices. Several negative points include the hotel being very old, old fashioned rooms, and zero hospitality services from all the staffs. There is no 24 hr. reception. If there is any emergency, you are all on your own. No one would pick up the mobile phone as well. You will never get a greeting anytime of the day starting from the reception, to house keeping staff or restaurant staffs. It clearly shows that they all have been untrained. I would recommend that you book this hotel only if you are looking for a budget, no frills hotel. If I visit Koh Samed again, I would book the 4 star hotel next door in an instant, the Samed Tamarind Resort.

GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Express Rayong. The hotel is modern, clean, and well-maintained, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers.
The room was comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with all the essential amenities. The bed was very cozy, and I appreciated how quiet the environment was, allowing for a good night’s rest.
The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist. Check-in and check-out were quick and hassle-free.
Breakfast was simple but good, with a mix of Thai and international options—perfect to start the day.
Overall, this hotel offers great value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Rayong and would be happy to stay here again.

Great
JJOYXJEighteen years ago, I visited Koh Samet and stayed in a Saikaew bungalow, which left me with wonderful memories. So, on my return trip this year, I chose Saikaew again, but this time I stayed in a pool room near the swimming pool.
The ground-floor pool rooms are quite spacious. The bathroom even has a separate small vanity, and the wardrobe is built into the dividing wall between the bedroom and the bathroom. Each room also has a large sofa by the window, which can be used as an extra bed if needed.
The only downside was that the lighting in the bedroom was too dim.
The hotel staff were all very friendly, and the pizza in the bungalow area was delicious. That part of the beach is rocky, so you can see many small fish when you go down to the water. There's also a heart-shaped tree by the beach 😊 The sand on White Sand Beach is very fine, and the fire show on weekend evenings is excellent!

GGuest UserThis is our second time staying at this hotel for Chinese New Year. This time, our room was on the right hillside, and it felt more spacious and newer than the bungalows on the left. The hotel service was still excellent. We booked a half-day private boat trip (wooden boat) through the hotel, and it was fantastic! The boat was new, and the included meal was delicious. We also booked a private fishing trip through the hotel, which was also a great experience. Catching fish was fun, but my child got seasick quite easily. The hotel dinner, however, felt a bit limited in variety, and the menu didn't change much, while the prices were quite high.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location, clean and tidy, and the waiters are very friendly. The hotel has a rich breakfast. The facilities are complete, including a swimming pool, gym, table tennis table, sauna and steam bath. Very comfortable. Recommended!

Very Good
JJoebeverageI had a wonderful stay at this beachside hotel. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from a private beach where you can relax without the crowds. Waking up to the sound of waves and enjoying sunsets right from the balcony was a highlight. Another bonus is the nearby national park, easily accessible on foot, perfect for morning hikes and nature walks. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The only downside was the entrance area, which could use better street lighting as it felt a bit dark and unsettling at night. Overall, a fantastic getaway spot!
TTreeTeeSecond line from the beach, communal pool and dining areas are stuffed with people, light in some rooms is not good, they open onto internal passageways so people walking by regularly doesn’t make it very peaceful. Good to use as a beach base and exploring other places nearby.
