For this price, you get a large room with amazing floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the 重庆 cityscape. The building has many cool shops as well including the 云端之眼 which has a panoramic view of the city. Someone mentioned in the comments that the slippers “cost” ¥30, but it’s actually free as long as you don’t take it away.
Taole Forest Hostel

Beibei
A cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings. Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends. The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on. There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn. A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day. The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish. The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there. My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

Chongqing Laizhu Book House Hotel (Shangqing Temple Niujiaotuo Subway Station)
4.9/52329 Reviews
People's Square Area
The hotel is next to the city government and is super safe. It is far from the downtown area and very quiet. It is less than ten minutes' walk to the subway station and has convenient transportation. There are also scenic spots such as Guiyuan Zhou Mansion around it. It is very close to the Three Gorges Museum and Liziba. Oh, and it is not far from Xuetianwan Main Street. There are many delicious foods there. It is not a popular online store, but a real residential area. The four hot pot restaurants of Yuyi Peas Noodles are all delicious😄

Holiday Inn Express Hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel in Chongqing, and my experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. I’m delighted to give it five stars, and here’s why: First, the staff demonstrated remarkable flexibility and understanding. I initially booked a room, but due to unexpected delays in Shanghai, I had to cancel at the last minute. It was close to 8 PM on the day of my scheduled stay, but after I provided evidence of my flight cancellation, they processed the refund promptly and without any hassle—a level of service that immediately set them apart. On my return to the US, I booked another stay here. In the rush of departure, I accidentally left my charger in the room. The hotel promptly messaged me, and, when I requested that they mail it to me, they sent it to the address I provided without delay. The charger arrived in less than a day, which was not only incredibly convenient but also a true lifesaver! The hotel itself is immaculately clean and very modern. My room was equipped with AI-powered features that made my stay exceptionally comfortable. I could control everything—from lights and the TV to the air purifier and humidifier—using voice commands, which was extremely convenient. The service was outstanding and personalized. The staff went above and beyond by arranging airport pick-up, providing a wake-up call, and ensuring seamless transportation back to the airport, which made my journey worry-free. Overall, this hotel delivered on every level, with attentive service, advanced amenities, and a commitment to guest satisfaction that left a lasting impression.
PALACE Yiduo Jiangjing Executive Mansion

Jiefangbei Area/Hong Ya Dong
I didn't expect the room to be so good. The decoration equipment is very new, and all kinds of electrical appliances are equipped with high-end equipment. The main thing is that the space is large. The independent toilet is very important to me. Now many hotel toilets are integrated with the room, separated by only a glass. People like me who have poor sleep are easily woken up by family members who get up at night. This homestay has very good sound insulation and will not be disturbed by other guests. Going downstairs is the Eighteen Ladder Scenic Area, and across the road there is the Mountain City Trail Scenic Area. I didn't know about these two scenic spots before I came, but I didn't expect to be unexpectedly satisfied. There are too many people over there in Hongyadong, and the business is serious. The snacks inside are expensive and unpalatable. The homestay hotels over there are expensive and small. I want to go down to the roadside to take pictures, but I can't walk at all. It takes half an hour to wait for an elevator, and people are about to collapse. On the contrary, the Eighteen Ladders side is much more casual, and the price of food and play is affordable, and the taste is quite good. That triangular baba is delicious. There are many teahouses in the scenic area. When I went there, I happened to meet a storyteller, who was still a non-legacy, very interesting, and tea was only 15 yuan, which is a good deal. It was so pleasant to bask in the sun, drink tea, and listen to the intangible cultural heritage storytelling. The lights in the scenic area were turned on very early, at 6 o'clock, and the night view was also very beautiful.
Yuanxuan Hotel (Daping Longhu Times Tianjie Branch)

The service staff are all very helpful, polite and friendly. The cleaning staff were also excellent during my stay and they came and cleaned the room and gave me new water every day. The hotel is in a pretty convenient location, within walking distance of two different subway lines and with lots of shops and food right at your door. For anyone who is looking for a budget option with easy access to the city centre, this is a great choice. My only issue was with the cleanliness of the room when I came in. First of all, there was a very strong smell in the bathroom throughout my stay (the cleaning staff cleaned it many times, it's not their fault, I guess it's a plumbing issue). One of my two pillows had a very strong smell too. It smelled of sweat and smoke and I really felt like maybe it hadn't been changed since the previous occupant. Maybe it was just that the pillowcase had taken on this smell even though it had been washed (I'm very sensitive to smell) but I really felt like the second pillowcase hadn't been changed. It didn't matter that much, I just used the other pillow instead (I don't need two) but if there had been two of us I'd have asked for a fresh pillowcase. The biggest issue aside from the smell was the fact that even though there were four elevators, so many people in this building (it's a mix of hotels and other businesses) were using them that during very busy times, I had to wait forever to catch a lift up or down which was a bit annoying. Overall I think it's a decent budget option if you want to save money.
