The Archontiki City Hotel is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Chania will find that the Archontiki City Hotel is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel is conveniently located a short 15km drive from Chania International Airport. There's plenty to do nearby, with Chania Municipal Garden, Splantzia Square and Küçük Hasan Mosque all within a short distance. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities.
"Clean and tidy, good location, friendly and all good hotels. However, the unfortunate thing is that the room is a bit small, so I can't open the carrier around the bed. I could just put it all in one side, and I could just make a space, and I could spread a carrier 24 inches. In addition, the sound insulation on the corridor side is very weak. From the early morning, people move and talk, the noise of cleaning empty rooms is very heavy, so they can't rest at ease."

Amazing
JJimmibobAbsolutely stunning place in a perfect location just a short stroll along the sea front to the historic old town of Chania and the Venetian Harbour. In the other direction an even shorter stroll to the harbour and Nea Chora beach - which has a ton of bars shops and restaurants. Property is directly on the seafront in a real tranquil location - with a beautiful pool and incredible sea views everywhere you stood. The staff were fantastic and even contacted me on WhatsApp prior to my stay to arrange my check in. Had my room ready early - which was fabulous. I was incredibly lucky to have a suite with a hot tub right on the sea front - beautifully decorated, fresh, clean and the views from the balcony were incredible. I believe breakfast is included for all guests, which was lovely with a wide variety of hot and cold food drinks and pastries. The only criticism is of myself that I didn’t stay longer. I would come back in a heartbeat!
GGuest UserThis was one of many hotels we looked at but after so many positive reviews about the hotel and the staff it was a no brainer to book and we weren’t disappointed. The staff go out of their way to help you always with a friendly smile. The hotel is clean and adults only makes it a bonus. It’s a 10 second walk from the beach front. The beach is a cove never over crowded and the water is crystal clear and shallow for a long way. Plenty of little shops and places to eat out in this little village. Breakfast in the hotel was good, tasty. Not spoilt for choice but plenty for whatever your tastes. Pool area is great always get a bed. But we mostly went to the beach. There’s a car hire place nearby and a trip to Chania Old Town is an absolute must do. Would come back here again for sure and to this lovely hotel. Highly recommend it.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is definitely very good and a plus point.
We were greeted in a friendly manner and the lady at the bar gave us a welcome drink. The hotel looks quite high-quality at the entrance and you feel like you're in good hands. I would say it's not 5-star level, but around 3.5-4 absolutely.
The room we were given unfortunately had no windows (the description said there was one). No problem for us. Our biggest criticism is that there was no door in the shower because it had been removed. So you couldn't shower properly without water spraying outside. When we told reception, they just said ”we didn't know” and preferred to answer the ringing phone and leave the guest standing there. Who would know if not the hotel, so unfortunately it's far from 5-star service. We expected a small apology and that the problem would be taken care of. I think it's a real shame that you pay so much money and then get a room that doesn't meet the standard and isn't really at the level you want it to be given to guests. Luckily we only spent one day here and had previously spent the week in a real 5-star hotel.
I can really only give this hotel 3/5 stars overall.
LLéo WThis hotel was perfect on all aspects, the room was amazing, big very clean and well equipped. The view from the balcony and the swimming pool was brilliant! I really enjoyed the spa and the interior pool as well. The restaurant of the hotel was perfect too, the food was really good. But most importantly, the staff of the hotel was highly professional and the nicest people! All of them were very good to us and treated us so well. I include everyone in the staff including the cleaning lady who was so lovely too. All in all this might have been my best holiday in a very long time if not ever. I highly recommend this hotel! Big thank you to everyone at Lagon life spirit boutique hotel, you’ve made our stay so perfect!
SSunny FReception staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was good, we got a free upgrade, which moved us to another one of their other hotels (Corissia Princess Hotel) which was nice.
Housekeeping could have been more thorough, we left the towels on the bathroom floor and they were not replaced. They also did not replenish tea bags. However reception is quick to rectify.
Hot water went out one of the days which was annoying but maintenance was quick to fix it.
Pools, beach chairs, private beach area looked great, however we did not get the chance to use them as the weather was not great and the indoor pool closed around 7pm.
Breakfast was good and the location was nice (not connected to hotel)
GGuest UserThe hotel is very good, the environment is beautiful, it has its own beach, lying on the beach and listening to the sea, and the waiter gives water, it is really pleasant. The service is also good. Seeing that we are staying for four people, an extra bed was given, and a quilt was spread on the tatami, which is very thoughtful.
AA.BatiukWe had a very pleasant stay at Artemis Apartments. The location is wonderful - just a short walk to the beach, and many shops and restaurants nearby. We loved how close everything was, yet the place feels quiet and peaceful.
The apartment itself was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful (many thanks to Nikos) -always ready to assist with anything we needed.
Breakfast was good, though fairly simple and similar from day to day. But I suspect this is because it’s off-season.
Some things stood out: the WiFi worked well most of the time, the pool area is lovely and well-maintained, and the value for money is excellent.
GGrimI knew as soon as I heard goats with their little bells on that I’d like this place. Quiet, quaint, country accomodation on the way to Samaria Gorge.
The family who run it were all lovely, and mum even made me up a picnic to take on the hike before dad gave us a lift to the starting point.
Maybe it’s because it never happens back home, but I ordered a beer downstairs upon arrival, and got given free olives - that made my absolute day and, though previously incorruptible, my loyalty was bought instantly and totally.
I also had the rabbit fry up thingo, which tasted great, although the salad itself was even better, though it curse my carnivorous tongue to say it.
The bedroom had a great balcony for looking out over the green and rocky hills. Bed was super comfy, and it actually was a little colder way up in the Omalos elevation (in June) which made sleep come very easily for those like me who run hot. Big fluffy blanket in the cupboard though for those of you who like to be warmer.
The bathroom is a bit small and being on the tall end of the height spectrum I had to be wary not to knock myself out on the hand basin when using the toilet. But if you’re under 6 foot you’ll patting your genetics on their small back.
The building is relatively old so expect to hear some footfalls as other guests go past your room, but other than that, blissfully quiet overnight.
The daughter of the family speaks really good English which helped a couple times, when regretfully I seemed to have forgotten all my Greek (which I rudely hadn’t learned prior to arriving).
I can’t recommend this homely hotel enough, so if you’re on your way to hike the gorge, park your car here and stay the night. Then stay in Agia Romelli at the very end of the hike. Then come back to Omalos the next day and get some home style cooking back into your weary body.
Or whatever floats your ferry.
AAnastasia123We stayed here with my mom for one night, and we were absolutely delighted with this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was special. The location is perfect—set in a peaceful village, just a one-minute walk to a wide, spacious beach with easy access to the water.
The room was spotless, freshly renovated, and even smelled pleasant. We had a large balcony with a table, and everything was so clean that when we wiped the table, there wasn’t even a trace of dust. The attention to detail in the cleaning was truly impressive.
The owner was wonderful to meet—so kind, welcoming, and generous. He treated us to fresh fruit and shared many helpful tips about the area, making our stay feel extra personal and warm. Breakfast was another highlight: homemade, delicious, and prepared with so much care.
This hotel completely won us over—the location, the atmosphere, the hospitality, everything was perfect. We already dream of coming back and staying longer.
