Since we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences. The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it. The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying. The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills. Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

I booked the Yunshu, room F02, and I highly recommend this room type. The location is absolutely perfect, right above the Meili road sign. Personally, I think the view of the snow-capped mountains from the room is even better than from the Feilai Temple viewing platform downstairs. The floor-to-ceiling window next to the sofa in the room directly faces the Shennü Peak, and you can also see Kawagebo, though unfortunately, the weather wasn't good on the day I was there, so I missed out on that. The room also provides a tripod, which you can set up on the balcony for photos. The afternoon tea was also great; I absolutely loved the sour tamarind iced Americano. We also had dinner on the first floor (basement), and the food was delicious with generous portions. The staff were all very friendly and even gave us a special souvenir, a cute little cup, when we left. It's a shame we didn't get to see the 'golden mountains in the sun' due to the weather. I'll definitely come back in winter. See you next time, Meili Shiqi! 🤜

I've been wanting to visit Ji Xia Shan for five years, and I absolutely love the overall design style. It was just as I imagined, and the service was incredibly warm; everyone was smiling and friendly. The rooftop bar has little notebooks where you can write your own stories and read others' thoughts. It's a shame that it was foggy these past few days so I couldn't see the magnificent snow-capped mountains, but I look forward to seeing them next time.

This was the most satisfying accommodation during my trip to Yunnan, offering a relaxed and cozy feeling, like staying at a friend's house. Room: We stayed in the 'Reding' room type. It was spacious and warm, with exquisite design details everywhere. View: Our main purpose for visiting Deqin for three days was to see the Meili Snow Mountains. The hotel's restaurant and cafe face the 13 peaks directly, offering an excellent view. As long as the weather permits, you can gaze at the snow-capped mountains all day long, and there's no need to jostle with crowds to watch the sunrise (P.S. The cafe also provides tripods for guests to use for photography). Food: Far exceeded expectations. Breakfast was served until 1 PM, with a wide variety of options, perfect for enjoying the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise' and then going back for a nap before eating. The room also came with fruits and snacks, followed by afternoon tea, 'stove-boiled tea' (围炉煮茶), and late-night snacks. It's worth mentioning that the main meals were also delicious. In such a remote place as Wunongding, you really don't have to worry about food. Service: The butler and all hotel staff provided attentive care. When my family member experienced mild altitude sickness and a fever, the butler brought pot after pot of brown sugar ginger tea and fever patches. Other staff members would also offer caring greetings every time they saw us. Although the weather was cold, the warmth of the hospitality was truly heartwarming.

The room was fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised to find disposable face towels by the sink. I've stayed in much more expensive hotels that didn't offer this, so I really appreciate this thoughtful detail. It's also perfect for catching the sunrise over the 'Golden Mountain' (referring to a scenic view at sunrise). If you can't get out of bed, you can just open the curtains with the controller next to the bed and enjoy the view as soon as you open your eyes. Afterwards, you can close them and go right back to sleep. The hotel offers many experiential services. I booked a sachet-making workshop; you can make as many as you like, and they're beautifully crafted and smell wonderful. My family loved them when I brought them home. The BBQ was also delicious, and the restaurant offers an incredible view for dinner.

Cat in Yubeng Snow Mountain View Guesthouse

Cleanliness: Still very neat and clean. Environment: The guesthouse is located at the very top of the eastern side of Upper Yubeng. If you don't want to commute by pickup truck or climb the 'Despair Slope', I recommend taking the shortcut directly to Upper Yubeng after the second supply point. The scenery is excellent. The guesthouse has a fantastic view, offering panoramic vistas of three snow-capped mountains. The decor is ******* style, leaning towards minimalist. Service: The ladies working here were incredibly responsive to all our requests. Upon check-in, we received custom medals and a supply kit. In the evenings, there was ginger tea, fruit, and late-night snacks. After three days of exhausting hikes, returning to the guesthouse, sitting by the fire, drinking ginger tea, and petting the cats brought immense happiness. I highly recommend their milk tea and coffee; their beauty is the least impressive thing about them – they're just that delicious. Facilities: The hot water temperature was a bit tricky to adjust. As someone sensitive to heat, the water felt too hot after a while. Lastly, the guesthouse also provides disposable towels and bath towels, so my quick-dry towel went completely unused. Guests might consider this to lighten their backpacks.

The hotel is very well-equipped and has an excellent location. There are no other guesthouses operating nearby, only ones under construction. From the hotel's fifth-floor terrace, you can see the Meili Thirteen Peaks. If it's cold, there's a stove for heating in the glass room, and phone holders are even provided on the terrace! The staff were also accommodating to our needs, warming up the food we brought ourselves in the evening! By the way, the hotel only offers breakfast; no other meals are available, and you'll need to go to a restaurant about a kilometer away. However, it's only a 200-meter walk to the One Tree at Wunongding. The hotel features a dispersed oxygen supply and skirting board heating. It wasn't cold in June, and we even had a sweet white fungus soup delivered to our room in the evening. There are commercial washing machines and dryers, which work very quickly! Parking is right at the hotel entrance, and they'll help carry your luggage to your room! There's also an elevator, so no need to climb stairs.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

It’s a warm and cozy stay, making you feel at home at upper yubeng. Hotel is located just right by the start of the ice lake trial, so it’s very convenient. You’d get to enjoy the snow mountain view right outside your window! It gets cold at night during winter but there is an electric heater, floor and bathroom heating so you’d stay warm. There’s some hearty Cantonese dishes for you to order for dinner. Our stay comes with free breakfast and it’s a huge portal — enough to fuel you up for your hikes. They also provided us a sandwich to bring to go and eat on the hike! They also provide hiking poles and crampons if you did not bring them. Highly recommend for your stay at upper yubeng!

The location is fantastic, super easy to get around, and there are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. The place itself is spotless, and the common areas have a relaxed and comfortable vibe. The beds are clean and odor-free, and the washing facilities are comprehensive. The owner is incredibly warm and friendly, and the service is excellent. This place offers amazing value for money. It's my top choice for accommodation when traveling, and I'll definitely be back!
