GGuest UserElla / Shen, the owner is a very nice person and her DIY wine project is cool. The male dorm was nice and clean, the bunks had a good curtain and I was lucky with the people staying there, people were respectful with the sleeping times etc. and I think the instructions by the hostel helped with this. The instructions were definitely a good thing to have but they could be also developed more with the guest’s needs in mind, I would think how to make the things as accessible as possible and try to think outside of the box, try to see ot with the eyes of a foreigner that most likely struggles a lot with the local character system and finding their way around - very basic things. The client service is key here. Thank you for the stay, I wish all the best for the future.

GGuest UserThe team at Munage went above and beyond all expectations. We were met at the gate of the old city with a cart that took all our suitcases after a long and arduous border crossing from Kyrgyzstan. Upon reaching the accommodations, there was fruit and drinks waiting for us which set the tone for the stay. We were having issues with a misspelled name on our departing flight booking. Ah Zhe promptly took over the problem and shooed us out to explore while he called the airline relentlessly in order to solve our problem. By the next day, he sent us the confirmation of the corrected airline booking, which was after many hours of being on hold on the airline helpdesk. I have never ever had a hotel staff so willingly take over my travel issues with such ownership. This is hospitality of the highest order. On our last day, they had gifts for us and even booked and paid for our car to the airport. This standard of service is impossible to beat.

GGuest UserThe room was quite clean. The hotel wasn't big, but it was still pretty good for taking photos and checking in online. It wasn't far from the entrance to the ancient city, and most importantly, it was very close to the popular Rainbow Alley, making it very worthwhile for the room price. Unfortunately, there was no elevator, so I had to carry my suitcase up the stairs. My suitcase weighed 20 kilograms, but thankfully the hotel owner helped me carry it up. The next morning, he got up early again to help me carry it downstairs and even walked me a short distance. I was so touched. Because the suitcase was so heavy, I only realized when I got home that the handle was broken, which was a bit of a shame.

FFubaoqingjiuI chose to stay at the Air Garden in the old city the night before leaving Kashgar to see the apricot blossoms in Southern Xinjiang. As soon as I completed my booking, the guesthouse manager contacted me to ask if I needed airport transfer and informed me about the local weather conditions. I felt a sense of warmth even before checking in.
Since vehicles aren't allowed in the old city, the manager informed me of the drop-off point and picked me up the night before check-in. This service was fantastic and saved me the awkwardness of dragging my luggage around looking for the place.
The hotel used to be the residence of a local 'Master Bayi' who was in the jade business. His eldest son later inherited the business and expanded it internationally. The original residence was very luxurious. Later, a boss from Hunan bought it and preserved the original four floors. The current third and fourth floors are replicas of the original residence, featuring exquisite wood carvings, making it a wood carving museum. Guests can visit for free. The fifth to seventh floors are the guesthouse, and the first floor sells jade. On the day of check-in, I received a complimentary jade 'peace buckle' from the guesthouse, which was a thoughtful touch 👍
The room decor had a distinct local flavor. Welcome fruits were already waiting in the room, and the mini-bar was free to enjoy. The super-large terrace offered a fantastic spot for enjoying the night view. On the day of check-in, I got to enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea. The pastries were exquisite, and sipping tea while admiring the beautiful scenery of the old city made all my worries disappear.
This hotel boasts the highest vantage point in the entire old city, perfect for watching sunsets and sunrises. I didn't get to experience it this time, but I'll definitely try it next time.
A big thank you to my manager, a handsome local guy, who was with me from the moment I booked until I left. He showed me around and explained the stories behind the wood carving museum, promptly resolved any requests I had during my stay, and patiently inquired about my airport transfer. Thumbs up! The guesthouse manager arranges breakfast for guests on the fifth floor according to their requested time. You can choose to dine indoors or outdoors. The breakfast spread was rich and well-balanced; I couldn't even finish it all by myself 😂
This guesthouse has only 10 rooms, offering a high degree of privacy. The elevator and entrances all use facial recognition. After checking in, I had a travel photoshoot with makeup on, and afterwards, the facial recognition surprisingly didn't work 😂 This only further convinced me of the guesthouse's excellent security! 👍
Although it's a guesthouse, it's very well-managed. Here, I truly experienced what 'customer-first' means. The guesthouse manager, Ms. Jin, an elegant lady, genuinely cares for guests, making everyone feel at home. I heard that after May 1st, the guesthouse will offer a service where managers take guests on tours of the old city. This is a brilliant idea, saving guests who are unfamiliar with the old city the hassle of getting lost. I look forward to the guesthouse getting better and better. The guesthouse's amenity kit is beautiful, and the manager said I could take it home, which is great! 😄
I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Kashgar. I highly recommend everyone to experience the charm of this guesthouse up close and hear its stories firsthand.

YYouyizainidechengI stayed two nights at Courtyard No. 2! It had the best butler service I've ever experienced in a hotel or guesthouse! The guesthouse offers 24-hour butler service, and the two young Uyghur butlers, Xiao Mu and Xiao Ai, were incredibly considerate and attentive! They accompanied me around the old town, helping with my bags and belongings, and even brought me bottled water when I left! They prepared fruit for me when I returned! My bag got dirty at the old town security check, and the two butlers meticulously cleaned it with toothbrushes and dried it with a hairdryer, neatly arranging it on the tatami mat! I was truly touched!
I spent a whole day exploring the old town, and the two butlers accompanied me throughout. Their guidance at many of the sights saved me a lot of trouble!
The courtyard was exquisitely designed, with well-arranged plants and unique Xinjiang elements like camel bells, a traditional heated brick bed, and tiled walls, all exuding exotic charm! The room floors were thoughtfully designed, the bedding was incredibly comfortable, and there were even neck pillows—you could tell the whole team worked hard and was highly professional!
Turning away from the hustle and bustle of the old town and the shops lining the streets, returning to this tranquil and beautiful courtyard was refreshing and comfortable! The refrigerator was stocked with an endless supply of juice and beer, along with exquisite braised meat platters, and plenty of fruit and pastries—enough to keep up with every meal! Breakfast offered both Chinese and Xinjiang styles, although the Xinjiang-style naan bread was a bit hard, perhaps a local preference. Kashgar evenings are cool, and the butler provides a heater and shawl; sitting on the earthen kang (heated brick bed) in the courtyard for a drink was incredibly comfortable!
Staying at such a guesthouse and having such a butler made the long journey worthwhile and will surely leave a lasting and beautiful memory!
Next time I'm in Kashgar, I definitely want to experience the other courtyards! This time, I also had afternoon tea at Courtyard No. 7, but I couldn't have dinner or a bar at Courtyard No. 9, nor could I extend my stay at my preferred Courtyard No. 1, so I have to come back to Kashgar! Back to the Silk Road! Because the Silk Road is my destination! 🧚♀️

GGuest UserI usually expect a certain standard from Hyatt hotels, but this one was quite a letdown. Let's start with the positives: the design is great, and the staff were genuinely nice. They even gave me several drink vouchers due to an issue with my room. The coffee was decent, and impressively, they still honored my unused coffee vouchers two days later – that's a nice touch. However, good service isn't just about good attitudes, as I experienced firsthand.
Here are a few examples:
1) My reserved room wasn't available. They claimed to upgrade me to a suite (room 306?), but after waiting nearly an hour and a half, the 'suite' turned out to have only a narrow window squeezed between two buildings. Whether or not it was a genuine upgrade, they should have at least informed me about the room's specifics upfront.
2) I then moved to a room in building 6. It seemed freshly renovated. The small, broken window was one thing, but the smell was incredibly strong, and the bathroom had a terrible sewer odor. The combination of these smells was truly awful. I was in a hurry to get out, so I just put up with it, not wanting more hassle.
3) I turned on the humidifier, and when I returned, the room was enveloped in a dense mist. I actually thought something was burning... I have no idea why this happened; I've never encountered anything like it with humidifiers at home or in other hotels.
4) The electrical outlet on the right-hand bedside table was completely broken. Neither plugs nor charging cables would go in! This was ridiculous.
I'm usually quite lazy and rarely write such detailed reviews. I typically give five stars if a place is even remotely acceptable, but this experience was truly intolerable. I hope the hotel makes significant improvements. P.S. Kashgar itself is a lot of fun!

TTeo Sin DeeThe location is great. The shower and toilet at 2nd floor need to be clean regularly. Also it helps to put curtains at both the entrance/exit because when you take shower, the wind/ cold air really send shivers down your spine. Please please fix the door at 209, 211. When you want to close the door from the outside, you have to pull to shut it and the bang can wake up the whole neighborhood.
