We had a wonderful time in July. I particularly want to highlight the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. It's so lovely when everyone smiles at you, always and everywhere. The few issues that arose were resolved incredibly quickly.
However, there are a few things to consider when planning your trip.
A significant plus is the long, expansive beach stretching to the left of the hotel. The beach is quiet and calm. It's not the most popular section of the beach; it's a more secluded part, which was a bonus for us. No hustle and bustle, no crowds. There are several surf schools here because this part of the coast has waves during the season. For us, having surfing available was a fantastic bonus. For 10 days, there wasn't a single day with a calm sea. Every day had waves of varying intensity. Because of this, the water was always (!) murky.
In July, the sunset isn't over the sea, but behind a neighboring island, yet it's incredibly beautiful on a clear day.
Many families with children stay at the hotel. The main pool is noisy. But a major plus is the 18+ infinity pool on the 5th floor. This is where you'll find relaxation and quiet.
My main complaint about the hotel is the constant smell of food from the restaurant in the main pool/beach area, even by the sea. It's a persistent smoky, unpleasant odor of fried oil. This bothered me significantly.
The hotel has absolutely no private grounds for walking, just a small lawn near the restaurant and that's it. It's a 5-minute walk to the lively street with amenities.
No complaints about the room cleaning; it was spotless every day, and our housekeeper Salim did an excellent job.
The breakfast was quite varied, with many Asian dishes and a selection of European options. The yogurts and fruits were delicious, but the pastries were weak and not very tasty. The freshly squeezed juices were great. The coffee was average quality. The hotel also has a premium restaurant, Lancava. It's luxurious. All the dishes were outstanding, and the service was polite, attentive, and pleasant.

Tacks⭐We had an amazing stay at the Rebak Island Resort & Marina in Langkawi. The resort is set on a beautiful private island, offering a peaceful and relaxing escape away from the crowds. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with stunning views of the sea and surrounding tropical greenery.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. We especially loved the private beach, large swimming pool, and the regular boat transfers to the main island, which made getting around easy. The island itself is full of wildlife and beautiful nature, making it perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a tropical paradise.
If you’re looking for tranquillity, great service, and a unique island experience, Rebak Island Resort is an excellent choice. We would definitely stay here again.

XiaofeixiadadupiFirst, the pros: This hotel faces the sea and is backed by mountains, with every room being an independent bungalow (some are connecting rooms, two make up one bungalow).
Each bungalow is nestled in the rainforest or perched over the sea. It truly feels wild; we saw dusky leaf monkeys and hornbills from our balcony, and large monitor lizards and colugos near our door and on the way to the restaurant.
The mini-bar is all-inclusive, and yes, there's beer!
Langkawi SkyCab is within walking distance.
Now for the cons: 1> There are various types of sea-view rooms, but not many offer great views from higher up the hill. Most sea-view rooms have their views obstructed by the first row of overwater bungalows (we stayed in room 1239, see photo). It might be better value to book an overwater bungalow directly. 2> The bedding in the room was too damp and had an odor; those with sensitive noses might find it unbearable. 3> The breakfast was genuinely unappetizing. It looked plentiful, but most dishes didn't suit Chinese palates. 4> Hotel staff use motorbikes for transport, so you're guaranteed to be woken up by motorbike noise in the morning.
Dining: We tried three restaurants. I recommend the Western restaurant at B&B. For the Thai restaurant, just go for the fried rice and noodles; the Tom Yum Goong and curries were quite mediocre. A main meal typically costs 150-180 RMB per person.
Additionally, I left my Bluetooth earphones at the hotel. Due to battery regulations, the hotel couldn't ship them back, so I can't comment on that service.
Summary: If you're looking for a relaxing experience immersed in the sea and rainforest, go for it. If you're particular about room details and hygiene, you might want to reconsider. I'd suggest booking a luxurious overwater bungalow or suite, or a more affordable rainforest room. Avoid the sea-view rooms, as getting a good view there is a gamble.

Overall, the hotel is pretty good, especially its location near Central Beach. There's a decent-sized shopping mall not far from the hotel with food, drinks, and reasonably priced goods. The outdoor pool within the hotel is also a big draw. Remember, you can get free towels from the fitness center—you just need to register. In the evenings, around 8 PM, there's a fire dance performance at Central Beach, about a ten-minute walk away. The water pressure in the room's bathroom was also good, much better than the previous place in Kuala Lumpur. My only minor complaints are the small flying insects in the room and the occasional mosquito, but in a tropical region, this is quite normal, so it's a good idea to prepare for mosquito control beforehand. The hotel breakfast was also good and quite substantial. For the price, it offers good value for money.

The hotel has very big and clean rooms. Breakfast area is big too and not crowded at all. This hotel is literally next to the airport and can just walk over in leass than 3 mins. Even though it is near to the airport we did not hear any planes flying over during our 2 days stay there.
This hotel is strongly recommended.

Anonymous UserThe front desk staff were pleasant and welcoming, taking the time to explain the facilities and amenities available around the property. However, the check-in process felt somewhat disorganized, as our passports were collected and we were asked to wait at the side without much further guidance.
The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find the bed beautifully decorated with towel art, along with a complimentary dessert after we made a special request, despite having no expectations of receiving anything from the hotel. My husband and I truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture, it made us feel warmly welcomed.
Unfortunately, the breakfast experience did not quite meet the standards we would expect from a 5-star hotel. The staff appeared somewhat inexperienced, and service was inconsistent. When we arrived, there were no available tables, yet we were instructed to enter and find a table ourselves. This left us feeling awkward as we stood around waiting for other guests to finish their meals. What made the experience more disappointing was that a family who arrived after us was promptly escorted to a table, while we were left to continue waiting, which felt unfair. We also had to repeatedly request utensils as some tables were properly set while others were not. While these may seem like minor issues individually, together they affected the overall dining experience and fell short of the level of service we would expect from a hotel that positions itself as a 5-star property.
Overall, we enjoyed the room, hospitality, and thoughtful touches provided by the hotel. The stay had many positive aspects, but improvements in breakfast operations and service consistency would go a long way toward delivering the luxury experience that guests expect.

JanemishaThe room was clean and cozy. This hotel is right on the beachfront with its own private beach! There are plenty of sun loungers, a large pool, and beautiful, unique grounds!
The breakfast didn't impress me at all ((( The only thing that made breakfast bearable was a glass of champagne… everything else was tasteless and cold (and I have a lot to compare it to, having stayed at several other hotels on the island)… there is parking available.
In the evening, we were treated to a fantastic fire show!!!! It was absolutely beautiful, held right by the sea! Splendid!!

My stay at A Coral Reefs Resort from 21–23 March started off acceptable, but what happened after check-out was deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about the hotel’s professionalism and integrity.
After I had already left the property and arrived at the airport, I received a call accusing me of being involved in a missing RM1200 reported by three foreign guests. This accusation was based solely on a vague CCTV clip showing me sitting in the lobby and putting something into my pocket.
Let me be absolutely clear: such an allegation, made without concrete evidence, is irresponsible and unacceptable.
The hotel’s account of the incident was inconsistent and unreliable. I was first told the money was left on a table, and later it was claimed to be inside a pair of pants. The inability to establish even the most basic facts seriously calls into question the credibility of the entire claim.
Even more concerning is the timeline. If the alleged incident took place on 21 March, why was I only contacted on 23 March, after I had already checked out and reached the airport? This delay reflects either poor internal handling or a lack of proper investigation.
The CCTV clip provided was incomplete and unclear. It merely shows me placing my own personal belongings (my phone and medicated oil) into my pocket. There is absolutely no evidence that I handled or took any cash.
Relying on such selective and inconclusive footage to imply wrongdoing is not only unprofessional, but also unfairly damaging to a guest’s reputation.
We have formally requested the full CCTV footage to ensure transparency and proper verification of facts. Failure to provide complete and unedited recordings will only further undermine the credibility of this accusation.
If this matter is not handled appropriately, we will not hesitate to escalate it through formal complaint channels.
Guests should be aware that without clear evidence, this establishment is willing to cast suspicion based on assumptions rather than facts.

This was our first time checking in, and the reception requested identification (IC) for all guests. The room we booked was for 2 pax, but we had 3 pax. Prior to arrival, we had already called to check whether an extra bed could be added, and we were informed that it was not possible. We accepted this information at that time.
However, upon check-in, the receptionist informed us that we had to either pay an additional RM150 per night to stay in the same room, or book another room at an additional RM436 per night. We find these options unreasonable and not customer-friendly.
We then requested to speak with the manager. Initially, the manager refused to meet us, but later came out after some time. We explained the situation in full however, the manager continued to insist on the resort’s policies. Eventually, the manager offered a complimentary room upgrade, but we were still required to pay RM150 per night.
While we accepted the upgrade as a compromise, we are dissatisfied with how this situation was handled, particularly the lack of flexibility and the initial reluctance to address our concerns directly.
In addition, despite not placing any sign requesting room cleaning, housekeeping entered our room without prior notice or permission. This is highly unprofessional and raises serious concerns regarding guest privacy and security.

Apit ArasSeriously, I really like this hotel! The rooms are clean and spacious, and the breakfast is delicious. My only complaint is that the pool upstairs wasn't clean and had algae. But overall, the price was very reasonable.
