My recent two-night stay at The Jewel Hidden Valley was nothing short of wonderful. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this serene and culturally rich retreat provided the perfect escape. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made us feel right at home. A special mention goes to ”Julie” and ”Zhang Kai Yi” (if I remember correctly), who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. Despite the rain, they selflessly helped us with our luggage all the way to our villa—a gesture that truly touched us. Zhang even took the time to personally walk us to the Tong Guan Kiln, which was about 8 minutes away, sharing interesting insights along the way. Their kindness and attentiveness were truly impressive. The hotel’s design and layout are stunning, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings while maintaining a luxurious feel. Our villa was spacious, well-appointed, and immaculately clean, with high-quality amenities and toiletries that added to the comfort. Breakfast was another highlight—the spread was extensive, offering a variety of delicious options that catered to different tastes. Every dish was fresh and flavorful, making it a great start to our days. Overall, The Jewel Hidden Valley exceeded my expectations in every way. The peaceful ambiance, outstanding service, and attention to detail make it a hidden gem worth revisiting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a quiet, culturally immersive getaway!

This hotel's location is absolutely the best! It's incredibly convenient without being overly crowded. I looked at many hotels before my trip and finally chose this one because it met several of my criteria: 1/ I dislike crowded elevators (where you have to wait a long time) 2/ It's within walking distance to attractions 3/ It's easy to hail a taxi. First, about the location – it's unbelievably convenient: To the right of the hotel is Fengying Xili, where you can browse and explore as you please. A short walk to the left of the hotel brings you to Dongmao Street, where the Dongmao Street Teahouse is located! It's a great spot to snack on sunflower seeds, chat, drink tea, and try local snacks. The most amazing thing is that if you keep walking along Fengying Xili, you'll reach Huangxing Square. And if you walk a bit further down Dongmao Street, you can cut through to IFS. Compared to hotels tucked away in alleyways or right within tourist spots, here, when you're tired, you can easily take a taxi right to the hotel entrance, or walk if you feel like it. It's absolutely the best choice for scorching hot Changsha. You can walk to Huangxing Road Subway Station to take the metro to various attractions, but for me, taking a taxi is the most convenient. Next, the room: The room is standard, but a thoughtful touch is the lounge on the 2nd floor, which is open for reading. They also offer congee as a late-night snack until 11 PM. Food deliveries are brought to your room by a robot, the self-service breakfast has a wide variety of options, and the staff are very friendly. The only downside is that the public restroom on the 2nd floor and the restrooms on some floors occasionally emit an unpleasant odor, causing the floors to sometimes have a bad smell. This definitely needs improvement.
