Excellent location and perfect sleep quality!

After exiting Yaesu Underground Shopping Mall Exit 22, take the first alley, and you'll spot the hotel. The ground floor is where you catch the elevator, and the reception desk for check-in is on the second floor. The second floor also features a public area with complimentary tea and coffee. It's worth noting that both the front desk staff and housekeepers I encountered this time could communicate in Chinese, making their service incredibly friendly and reassuring!

Room comfort completely exceeded my expectations! The soundproofing is excellent; I wasn't disturbed by any noise these past few days. The pillow was very supportive and comfortable, and the air conditioning didn't blow directly onto the bed, so I slept wonderfully every night. There are charging ports by the bed, and you can even set your own wake-up call from the phone, which is very convenient.

Two bottles of water are replenished daily in the room. The bathroom has excellent water pressure, making showers very pleasant, and the shampoo and shower gel provided by the hotel are also quite good. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my stay and would definitely want to visit again!

I absolutely have to praise this hotel! As is typical in Tokyo, the rooms are small but perfectly adequate for all your needs. The cleanliness is significantly better than what you'd find in China, by more than just a little bit. The room was cleaned daily, and there wasn't a single hair in the bathroom. But my absolute favorite part? It's right across from the subway station! I'm definitely booking this place again next time I'm in Tokyo.

Room facilities: There were few real pictures of the Ctrip Deluxe Twin Room, but the actual room was quite spacious. Crucially, it had hardwood floors instead of carpet, which felt much cleaner. The hotel is very close to all the Ginza shopping malls, making for a comfortable stay. A minor drawback was the showerhead, which was very difficult to adjust and quite high; it took some getting used to, but the water pressure was excellent and the water was hot. The hairdryer was a Refa, which was super comfortable and quick to use!

Location: The hotel is within a 5-19 minute walk to major Ginza shopping malls. It's a bit further from Tokyo Station, about a 12-minute walk. It's very convenient to buy things and bring them back to the hotel.

Service: The hotel front desk staff were all very enthusiastic. You could get free foot patches, facial masks, and toiletry sets, as well as complimentary water, which was a huge help. We stayed for six days, and on the morning of August 6th or 7th, a Japanese staff member, Mr./Ms. Ota (I didn't catch the exact name), came to our room to deliver water. He communicated with us in English using a translator, and when we mentioned wanting to dispose of our trash immediately, he proactively took on the task of room cleaning and helped us take out the garbage. I give him a big thumbs up and hope the hotel recognizes his professionalism, dedication, and thoughtful service! I also want to express my gratitude to him here and hope the hotel sees this!

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

(Japanese portion of the original review, for context and full translation): We stayed for 6 days this time. On the morning of August 6th or 7th, a Japanese staff member, Mr./Ms. Ota (I apologize for not remembering the name accurately), brought water to our room. He communicated with us in English using a translator, and when we told him we wanted to dispose of trash immediately, he readily offered to take care of the garbage collection and kindly handled the room cleaning instead. I want to give him a very high rating from the bottom of my heart. I sincerely hope the hotel also recognizes his professional, serious, and thoughtful excellent service! Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to him here and hope this comment reaches the attention of the hotel management!

This was my second stay at Hotel Monterry LaSeour. My first visit was in October last year, and I enjoyed it so much that I specifically recommended the hotel to my sister and chose to stay here again during this trip.

My recent experience was overshadowed by an extremely unpleasant interaction with a front desk employee. He was a larger-built male of Indian/Nepali appearance who was working at the front desk on 25 June, between approximately 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. He appeared to be intentionally covering his name tag, so I was unable to identify him, although based on his signature on my check in document his name makes out to be ”Jeey”.

I arrived at the hotel around 12:00–1:00 PM after checking out of another hotel in Tokyo which was such a pleasant experience. I was fully aware that check-in was not until 3:00 PM and simply wanted to store my luggage before returning later. The staff asked for our passports and then informed me that check-in was at 3:00 PM. I explained that I understood and only wished to leave my luggage. He offered no further assistance or response however another female staff member stepped in, helped with our luggage, and provided a luggage tag.

When I returned around 3:00 PM, the same employee assisted me again. Despite having interacted with me only a few hours earlier, there was no greeting or acknowledgment. Instead, he immediately asked for our passports again. After handing them over, he said, “Give me your luggage tag—you can take back your passports,” while merely pointing to them on the counter beside him rather than handing them back to me.

The check-in process became even more irritating when I was completing my registration details on the screen. The employee repeatedly tapped his pen impatiently against the screen and used the pen to point at various fields while giving instructions. At one point, he pointed the pen directly toward my sister, who was sitting only a few metres away in the small lobby area, saying, “Her name here,” while continuing to tap the screen multiple times. His mannerisms were impatient, condescending, unprofessional and downright rude.

What was particularly alarming was what happened next. An elderly Japanese gentleman approached the reception desk to check in, and I witnessed an immediate and noticeable change in this employee's demeanour. He suddenly became warm, welcoming, polite, and attentive speaking in Japanese —while I was still standing there completing my check-in. The contrast was striking and left me feeling dismissed, even my sister could see the difference. 

I am giving a 1 star because of this staff member ”Jeey”, all other staff members were courteous and polite.  

Some other points to note - cleanliness was not there, the cup in the room was not washed and had dry coffee in it. Bath towels had a strange smell to them. Also, this time around, I asked to borrow an iron and while the staff not rush me to return it in 15 minutes (see the photo) since no one was asking for it - I find it super odd that there was a 15 mins limit and guests have to return it to the front desk after.

There is something unique about this Hotel Monterey in Akasaka that made our stay so enjoyable.  Location yes but the little details of the hotel made for a most enjoyable stay; the free cold beverages in the lobby; the hotel front desk staff accommodating our request for a larger room; the in room kettle; coffee machine; ceramic coffee cups/teapot; the unique showerhead; the linens; the bedcover and most definitely the mattress.  The one awkward item would be the difficulty in navigating through the Japanese language media selections.Thank you.

I really liked this hotel after my last stay, so this time I brought my family along. Good things are meant to be shared! The location is super convenient; you can catch the airport bus to Kansai Airport right from the mall next door. Even if you've bought a lot of things, you don't have to worry about dragging your luggage around. The hotel is connected to an underground shopping street, so you don't have to worry about heavy rain. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the view was even more beautiful. The staff at the lobby and housekeeping were all warm and friendly. Looking forward to seeing you again next time.

The location is super convenient for shopping around Umeda, which saved me a lot of time. The hotel's large public bath is great for unwinding after a long day of travel, though I wish the operating hours were longer. It gets really crowded, especially since they stop letting people in after 11:30 PM. It would be much more flexible if they could extend it by an hour. Oh, and there's an amazing BBQ restaurant, Market Kitchen, on B1 of Umeda Lucua 1000 where you can pick your own meat to grill – such a good deal! I was really happy staying in this area. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.

A nice big hotel near Kyobashi station and Osaka Castle, wonderful area with many food places and easy access to many parts of Osaka.
The hotel itself is very clean, fresh linen, fluffy towels and the usual amenities.
At the moment there is construction work next door but it wasn’t really that bad, couldn’t tell you much about the onsite onson as I have tattoos and unable to go there and I’m not sure about the breakfast either as we were always up early to be where we had to be.
Overall this is a wonderful hotel to stay at, love the walking distance to Osaka Castle.

The hotel isn't far from JR; from the Sakurajima exit, walk straight past 7-11 for about 5 minutes, which is quite convenient. However, it's a bit far from Yodobashi and the Hankyu shopping area. I recommend checking out Lucua 11100, which is right in the center of JR Osaka Station. It has a Montbell store with a great selection of goods, and you can find good stuff even without tax refund (I went to the Grand Front South building the day before, which was very small and had nothing to buy even with tax refund – but I'm getting off-topic). I've visited Japan many times but never stayed at a Hotel Monterey, so I decided to try it out. This one has a distinct European style and is a bit more expensive than typical chain budget hotels. I can finally cross it off my list. The hotel is a bit old; the triple room felt small once three beds were in it. Room 1001 had very noisy air conditioning units outside at night, and passing trains were also very loud – those are the downsides. On the plus side, the bathtub is full-sized, not the small Japanese style, so it's comfortable for soaking. The windows block out light well, so you can sleep in. Even with kids, the neighboring rooms were quiet.

The subway entrance is super close and has an escalator, which makes it easy when you're dragging luggage. The hotel can receive packages for you (you pick them up at the front desk); I bought several Amazon Japan deliveries, including some large baby formula boxes, and they were all signed for successfully. The room size is decent; you can open two 24-inch suitcases, though the aisle will be a bit narrow, but still passable. There are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, and you can get to Tenjin and Hakata by bus in addition to the subway, so transportation is very convenient. Plus, they give you two bottles of water every day, and there's a hot/cold water dispenser and a microwave, which is really nice. Oh, and Hakata Daruma Ramen is right next door, super close and delicious!

I booked two rooms, and while their sizes varied, they were both larger than typical city hotel rooms. I requested a high floor, which wasn't granted, but that's okay. However, the rooms faced the messy buildings behind the hotel, which made for a poor view. There was a lot of dust on the bedside tables, which I hope can be improved. There's a large public bath on the third floor, but I didn't get to experience it because of the long lines to get in when it was busy.

I stayed at this hotel in the hottest part of July. Its location near Tenjin Station is excellent, and the famous Full Full bakery is also nearby and not too crowded. There's also a 7-Eleven downstairs.

The breakfast looked pretty ordinary, so I didn't order it.

The front desk offered DHC skincare samples, including sunscreen.

The room was quite small; I could barely open my 24-inch suitcase. It's definitely a size meant for one person, but it was decent. The bathroom was a pre-fabricated unit.

Overall, I was quite satisfied because the location is truly fantastic. I might even stay here again next time, but there are some noticeable drawbacks.

Downsides:
1.  They only provide one bottle of water per day. One time when I went to the front desk to ask for more water, they actually told me there was already water in the room. If a guest asks for something, the staff should just provide it. How can they refuse? Is one bottle really enough in such hot weather? They should give an extra bottle.
2.  The room only has two-prong outlets, so three-prong plugs couldn't be used, which meant some of my devices couldn't be charged.
