Pros:
1.  **Location:** Excellent. Situated by the Huangpu River in Lujiazui, it's a short walk to Super Brand Mall, the Riverside Promenade, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It's also close to Metro Line 2, making taxis and ferries easily accessible. IFC is right across the street.
2.  **Breakfast Variety:** Offers a wide selection of Chinese and Western dishes, with particularly tasty bread.

Cons:
**Check-in Issues:** The check-in process was far from smooth and frankly, a terrible experience. The doorman service seemed to depend on who was on duty. On the day we arrived, perhaps due to the rain, there was no service at all, though it improved over the following days. We arrived at 4 PM that afternoon, and one of our rooms still wasn't ready. We were told it would take an estimated 20 minutes to clean, but we didn't get into the room until after 5 PM.

**Dated Facilities & Housekeeping:** The hardware feels a bit old. Cleanliness was just okay; for example, the bathtub didn't have a disposable liner. The shampoo and shower gel were in large, communal bottles, and the quality wasn't great.

**Subpar Housekeeping:** Housekeeping only made the beds and changed towels. All our clothes were left piled on the sofa, not neatly folded, and the tables weren't tidied. The bathroom toiletries were also left as is, without any organization.

**Crowded Breakfast Experience:** During peak breakfast times, it gets very busy. Table clearing was incredibly slow, leading to a shortage of available seating.

This room type is definitely not suitable for elderly guests or children. As shown in the pictures, the shower and toilet areas are open-plan, making the floor very slippery after a shower, and there's a high risk of falling when using the toilet.

The natural light is excellent, and the room is spacious. However, the minibar items are not complimentary.

The executive lounge, located on the entire 55th floor, was very crowded during the Chinese New Year, but the arrangements were orderly and well-managed. That said, I was quite disappointed with the food quality, both in the afternoon and evening.

Breakfast was decent.

The gym is a highlight, spanning 600 square meters with a wide array of professional equipment.

The location is also a major plus.

Although there was a slight delay with check-in during the Chinese New Year period, the entire check-in process at the front desk, and even the subsequent check-out, was incredibly smooth. The staff had excellent service attitudes and even sent a fruit platter as an apology.

The hotel smells lovely, the room is spacious, and the facilities are all very well-maintained. The Taikoo Li area is super convenient for dining, accommodation, and transportation. There are tons of luxury brands and famous restaurants nearby. Getting to Shanghai Station, Hongqiao Station, Nanjing Road, and Disneyland is easy via the subway. The station is less than a five-minute walk, which is a real time-saver.

After a whole day of international flights landing at Shanghai Pudong, choosing to stay at the Hongqiao Airport Shangri-La was absolutely the right decision!!!!

1️⃣ Hotel pick-up service: The hotel concierge greets you with a name card, and once you're met, you don't have to lift a finger! They help with luggage, guide you, and handle everything, so you don't have to worry at all!! It also prevents the awkward situation of not finding your driver after leaving the airport!! Once in the car, they'll tell you the estimated arrival time and adjust the air conditioning to a comfortable temperature for you to relax.💕

2️⃣ Check-in process: Since we are international students returning home with a lot of luggage, the concierge was already waiting at the parking area before check-in, asking which bags needed to be stored and which should be sent to the room. Someone also guided us through the check-in process!! (Check-in is on the 12th floor~)

3️⃣ Stay experience: Watching planes take off and land! It's truly amazing and magical! The most crucial thing is!!! The soundproofing is incredibly good! The bathroom floor even has underfloor heating! All the main controls are by the bedside, avoiding tedious operations like getting out of bed to turn off lights before sleeping! It's truly a hotel perfect for relaxation!

4️⃣ Breakfast experience: The staff will give you an extra menu~ It has recommended dishes! We tried the wontons and noodles (after eating so much foreign food, you really miss this taste! 🥹). It felt like home~

5️⃣ Check-out + transfer to high-speed rail station: ‼️‼️‼️ Key point!! Hongqiao Airport Shangri-La Hotel is connected to both the airport and the high-speed rail station!! We had six suitcases between the two of us! The concierge pushed the luggage cart (detail: the concierge even brought his ID to help us enter the station!) and escorted us all the way into the station~

❤️ Summary: You really can't imagine how easy and convenient traveling can be until you experience a stay at the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Shangri-La.

China world hotel has exceeded my expectation so I have extended our stay for a second day! The room is beautiful, great view to Chang’an Road; food and service in breakfast and lounge are impressive. Reception personnel has made us feel like home. House keeping lady, Ms Zhang on our floor (19th flr. Horizon club) is super attentive. It’s my first time to stay in a shangri-la hotel. I’m very impressed  I’ve stayed many big brand 5-star hotels. After this experience, I would try more Shangri La hotels. And next time in Beijing I’ll stay in China world hotel again

I booked the Shangri-La Hotel in early March, planning to stay for 3 nights from the 25th. I noticed on Ctrip that the hotel was fully booked for the 27th, so I called them up. Since there was no way around it, I had to switch rooms mid-stay. The phone service agent, Wang Ran, was incredibly patient, explaining the hotel's booking situation for that day. She also helped confirm room prices and book a restaurant. Upon check-in, the front desk staff were very professional and polite. Wang Ran from the service center personally greeted us and brought welcome fruit. The day before we had to switch rooms, I contacted Wang Ran for assistance. Her quick and effective communication, along with her help in making the necessary arrangements, saved us a lot of time and allowed us to go out early without any worries about the room change. Although we had to move rooms once, the service from the service center was excellent, providing a one-stop solution. Thumbs up to Wang Ran!

This was my second stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, I was assigned an end room, which was also a connecting room. Although the connecting door was locked from the inside, being the very last corner room meant a long walk from the elevator, especially with a child under 4. Entering the room felt a bit eerie; the entrance and bathroom lighting were dim, making the whole space feel gloomy. The hairdryer was old, and a bedside lamp was crooked, which I had to adjust myself. I'd suggest that five-star hotels use smart Dyson hairdryers. Breakfast the next day was disappointing with limited options, and we had to queue around 9:30 AM. There wasn't much variety, and the fruit selection was sparse. The fried noodles for the main course were hard, which was frankly not worth the price. When we went up to the assigned table via elevator, the noodle station seemed to be just going through the motions. There's a noticeable gap when compared to five-star hotels like The Kapok in Chengdu.

The front desk and lounge staff were all excellent. The room design was neat, simple, clean, and bright, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The location was great, directly facing the Yongding River, so on a nice day, you could enjoy views of the river and mountains. It's also close to the Sky Corridor and Shijingshan, which allowed me to visit all the important attractions around Shougang Park, so I extended my stay by another night. The lobby was exquisitely designed with plenty of greenery, and when it wasn't crowded, sitting there with a coffee, listening to the occasional bird calls, was very relaxing. 
Unfortunately, the breakfast and lounge food were very average; I wouldn't recommend ordering meals there.

Hotel location is perfect,  walking distance from Luohu shenzhen train station.  30m room size is just the right size. Even though the room is not remodeled but everything is still in good quality and good condition. The bed is comfortable with down pillows and down blanket, which can make you sleep better for sure. Hotel breakfast is grand and abundant with everything you can imagine. Front desk staff Bill Chen is very helpful and patient in answering questions.  Hotel lobby is grand with beautiful flowers setting in the middle of the hall. Lobby bar is also very nice. Overall good experience and will come again.

We chose this hotel mainly because of its excellent central location in Fuzhou, as well as the facilities, which looked very appealing in the photos—and they really lived up to our expectations.
We enjoy swimming, and the hotel has a large pool with proper lanes, which was exactly as advertised. The water temperature was very comfortable at around 28–29°C. The fitness area is also extremely well equipped. For longer stays, this hotel is especially suitable, as you can easily spend time being active without leaving the property.
Overall, it’s a very solid hotel that offers all the expected services. The interior design is a bit traditional or slightly outdated, but everything was very clean. It’s not a modern design highlight, but in terms of amenities and overall value for money, it’s really good.
One small tip: there is a bar around the corner that belongs to the Shangri-La. However, we found the prices quite excessive, and the atmosphere felt a bit overly “hip.” The service there didn’t feel very welcoming to us, and we weren’t entirely comfortable with the vibe. Depending on your preferences, you might want to look for a different bar.
All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Out of all the hotels I stayed at during my trip to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, the Shangri-La wasn't the most expensive, but it was definitely the most satisfying. Even though it was busy during the Chinese New Year, the service quality wasn't affected at all. The room wasn't huge, but it had an expansive view and beautiful scenery. The layout was well-designed, and the amenities were good too. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a subway station, making it easy to get around, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. Shenzhen Bay Park is also within walking distance, and a stroll along the bay watching the seagulls is quite pleasant. The breakfast was the most delightful surprise – high quality and a rich variety of options. A special thank you to the staff at the dim sum counter! While there are still some construction sites around the hotel, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. This hotel is highly recommended.
