Disappointing Experience at Emisia Tachikawa Hotel

I arrived two hours early and was told I had to pay ¥2,000 for early check-in — even though rooms were available. I refused, as I believe good service should accommodate guests when possible. If early check-in is to be charged then I should be refunded for check out early at 7am - or an offer of a partial refund? While waiting in the lobby, I asked for a phone charging point and was told none were available — a basic amenity that most hotels provide.

The room was very small for the price charged, and breakfast wasn’t included. On top of that, the hotel only offers self check-in, meaning there’s no staff interaction or support. It felt more like a vending machine than a hospitality experience.

Overall, I found the stay lacking in comfort, service, and value. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re looking for a bare-bones, no-frills place to sleep.

The room we had was small. The bed size, I thought, would have been a bit bigger for two people. However, the Hotel location was just a few minutes' walk away from Sugamo Station. So, that is a BIG PLUS for us! There are also many supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, and eateries conveniently located just around the Hotel, another BIG PLUS! Overall, we had a pleasant and memorable stay in Smile Hotel, Sugamo.

The room was great, definitely larger than what you'd typically find in the city center, and it even came with a small table and a chair. It truly lived up to 'small but perfectly formed' – it had everything I needed, including a fridge! But the absolute best part was how convenient it was for getting around; it's just a few minutes' walk to Nishi-Kasai subway station.

The room was clean and tidy, with all facilities in good working order. The service was excellent, and they even offered English assistance. The hotel is conveniently located near a tram station, with plenty of dining options and supermarkets nearby. Highly recommend staying here.

The room might be a bit small, but for a business trip, this hotel is incredibly convenient. It's just a short walk directly into the subway station, making it super easy to get back after visits. Just a heads-up, the steps at the entrance can be a bit tricky, so be prepared to carry your luggage if you have a suitcase.

The location is incredibly convenient for transportation, right next to Sengakuji Station. The A4 exit is the closest, with the hotel just 50 meters away. (Do note that A4 doesn't have an elevator; for elevator access, use A2, which is about a 10-minute walk to the hotel). From Sengakuji Station, there's direct access to both Haneda and Narita airports, as well as Sensoji Temple. JR Takanawa Station is also only a 10-minute walk away. For added convenience, there's a 7-Eleven right on the ground floor of the hotel. The rooms are compact but perfectly adequate for a comfortable stay.

The location is fantastic, making it incredibly convenient for both travel and shopping, with excellent transportation links. We originally planned to stay for only two nights and then move on, but given its great value for money, we decided to extend our stay for another two nights.

Although the hotel isn't brand new, it's exceptionally well-maintained. The mattress was very comfortable, and the room was spacious enough to easily open two 26-inch suitcases without hindering movement.

The front desk had Chinese-speaking staff, and the Japanese staff also spoke excellent English.

There are many restaurants nearby, and public transportation is very convenient. Ningyocho and Nihonbashi are about a 12-minute walk away, and Tokyo Station is a 20-minute walk.

My only minor complaint is that even though I booked a non-smoking room, I could smell cigarette smoke from the ventilation system every morning. It only improved slightly after turning off the central air conditioning.

Overall, this is a hotel with excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Good price and sooooooo GOOD LOCATION not to far from train station, walk around 3-5 minutes from station. And it easily to take the train to Shinjuku because you haven’t change the train line. The room is small but not the problem but i can’t find the way to close the heaters and open the air conditioner, so i had to open the window at night for the cold weather for good sleeping. 👍🏻 the hotel will be remain in my list for next trip if i’d have plan to visiting Tokyo.

Clean and good location. It's my first time in Osaka. Mostly I just walk to most of the tourist spots. There are multiple train stations within walking distance. Also, the best is that, the limousine bus from the airport does make a stop nearby this hotel. The room is spacious. Multiple convenience stores around. The 7 Eleven is just right next to the hotel. Awesome. Highly recommend.

This is one of the most suitable hotels I've stayed at during my recent business trips! Here's why:
1. The room is relatively spacious and comfortably laid out.
2. The business desk and chair are excellent.
3. There's a humidifier (air purifier) in the room, which is a great touch.
4. Li San, a Chinese staff member at the front desk, provided excellent service!
5. The 'eco-cleaning' service is a plus!
6. The bed frame is designed to be high, allowing luggage to be stored underneath.
7. There's a folding mirror in the drawer, among other thoughtful amenities. This hotel truly lives up to its 'prestige' series — it has everything you need and nothing you don't. I hope they continue to improve and get even better!

Bonus suggestion: Providing bottled mineral water would make it even better!

The location is great, not far from the subway station and right next to a gas station. The service was pretty good. Even though my room was close to the elevator, I didn't hear any noise at all. One of the pillows had a strong smell, so I'd recommend changing the pillowcase. There's a convenience store and a Matsuya (Japanese fast-food chain) nearby. Getting to Universal Studios should be quick, though I personally got lost in Umeda for half an hour, and everyone I asked gave me different directions...

The hotel is very close to Shinsaibashi, about a 10-minute walk, and easy to find. It offers great value for money and is also very close to the subway station. While the hotel facilities aren't brand new, its location is excellent.

Really good hotel with everything you need—clean and comfortable. Our room was quite spacious for a Japanese hotel and very well maintained. The service was excellent, with friendly staff. There are food options and convenience stores nearby, and the metro is only a short walk away, making it easy to get around. Would definitely come again.

It's located in front of the station, so it's easily accessible. The room is compact but easy to use, and there's nothing to complain about. The staff were all very friendly. I would definitely use it again.

The hotel is located in Nakanoshima, and it's a bit of a walk from Higobashi subway station. When I arrived, I walked through an underground passage after exiting the subway, and then emerged from the basement of a building to find myself already in Nakanoshima. It was another short walk from there to the hotel.

The front desk staff were very friendly. Their English wasn't perfect, but simple communication was manageable.

The room was a bit small, but the window faced directly onto the Tosabori River, and there was no noise, which was great.

The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but the restaurant staff were very nice.

The hotel is on an island and is very close to Watanabebashi Station on the Keihan Nakanoshima Line, making it incredibly convenient to get to Kyoto by Keihan train.

When I left, I walked along the riverside directly to Higobashi subway station, which took about 10 minutes. The view was much more open than in the underground passage, and it didn't feel too far at all.

however, rooms had strange smell everytime u opened the door to enter.
there was a cockcroach on the bed.

the location is close to setapak mall.got clinic nearby,KK Mart opposite of hotel,and the area is lively.food easily can get.

the room is o.k for 4pax,enough room to move around but no so large.the pillow is o.k,the aircond is cool.the bed also comfort.

the t.v got only 1 channel is working.but we didnt watch much.

the wifi can say o.k.

the toilet is clean.goof space.the water heater also working good but not too hot.

Overall is good. extend again after 3 Night stay.
The toilet light will on off when open showel.
Inform counter n get take note.
When back the boss asking for maintanance floor file.
Keep care of quality.
