The room was super comfortable, and for a hostel, having a dedicated area for blow-drying hair and doing laundry was great – no disturbing roommates! The front desk staff were also very enthusiastic. It's located in Sham Shui Po, so shopping and eating out are really convenient. You can even hike up the mountain behind the hostel at night to get a panoramic view of the city lights.

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and even though I was in a twin room rather than a bunk bed, I still experienced a wonderful sense of community. Before checking in, a car accident on the way to Shenzhen Bay Port caused a nearly three-hour traffic jam, making me miss the hostel's stated latest check-in time and the shuttle bus. So, I had to walk up the hill. However, after communicating with the staff that evening, they still waited for us and very warmly helped us check in and explained the hostel facilities. (P.S. When we mentioned to the front desk staff that a taxi had refused to take us up the mountain, two aunties expressed their sympathy and pointed out that Hong Kong drivers shouldn't do that and that we could file a complaint. They advised that next time, we should get in the taxi first before stating our destination to avoid such issues. Although one of the aunties spoke Cantonese, which I didn't fully understand at first, her demeanor showed she was definitely a kind person).

The hostel room's outlets came with both Type-C and USB ports, which was incredibly convenient for travelers from mainland China.

The hostel's view is also exceptional. At night, you can see the Victoria Harbour skyline, and from a distance, you can even catch a glimpse of Disneyland's fireworks (unfortunately, it rained that day so I didn't see them).

The facilities are also very comprehensive. If you're hungry, you can cook something in the restaurant yourself (just remember to wash up afterward). Although the toilets and showers are shared, the privacy is well-maintained. There are a few tables in the open-air plaza, where social guests can experience hostel culture, and if the weather's good, people often play board games there.

If I ever visit Hong Kong again, this hostel will definitely be my first choice. When leaving, the same warm auntie who helped us check in bid us farewell and invited us to return, bringing the experience full circle. I'm so glad my first hostel experience was with this place, and I'm very grateful for the excellent stay it provided.

Tung Chung - 2 nights - private double room

Expectation/Reality: this is the only provider of accommodation in the area so expectations need to be managed. They have the ability to essentially set terms, so the negative reviews here are likely from the folks who didn’t read the find print. The photos match the space very well. However the hostel reached out over what’s app a number of days before the booking asking for the $150 membership fee and $500 deposit, which I was not comfortable providing until arrival, however the hostel was okay with that.

Security: very good, there is a gate lock and a lock to the door, very safe.

Hygiene: overall very clean, no concerns.

Hospitality: the check in and out process is all over what’s app, so you are at the mercy of how responsive they are which can be frustration when trying to get in. Once you are in, it’s fine.

Social Atmosphere: good social spaces.

Overall: given they essentially have a monopoly on accommodation in the area. It’s a pretty good spot. I accidentally broke the key and they came and fixed it the next day, but took off $50 from the deposit. So handle the keys gently. Over pretty good place.

YHA Bradbury Jockey Club Tai Mei Tuk Youth Hostel is highly recommended for nature lovers! From the hostel, it's just a 3-minute walk to the Plover Cove Reservoir Dam. Nearby, you can rent bikes to explore, enjoy hiking, or head to Lung Mei Beach for some sun and sand.

What a nice simple place to stay. Quiet, next to river area, great view. That night was cold and we got a heater to keep us warm. Big kitchen can cook your own food. The owner keep the place clean and tidy. Great place to stay before a big hike. They sell nice drink and noodles as well. We take half day off and arrive there around 7pm.  Set off 8am for a 7 hours hike. Total took us 9 hours。

The room is hygienic, it is relatively small, the youth travel is like this, the boss is very good! The bathroom is separate, the bathroom is very hygienic! ! ! ! It's relatively clean!

I stayed here for 5 nights early last month. First of all, the location is really good. It's a twenty-minute walk from must-see attractions like the British Museum, and a thirty-minute walk to Euston train station (I consider anything under a half-hour walk 'walking distance'). It's also close to Great Portland St and Regents Park tube stations.

I was in an 8-bed female dorm. The restrooms are outside the room. They were cleanest right after being cleaned in the afternoon and dirtiest before check-out in the morning. There's a decent-sized pantry downstairs, and I saw quite a few people cooking. I also used it twice to boil water for instant noodles.

Free luggage storage after check-out was a great bonus.

It's a budget accommodation in one of the most expensive cities in the world, so not much should be expected. 
The location is perfect, and the hostel is easy to find. Their reception is 24/7, and I've personally checked in quite late (after 8pm). However, this process took very long. I'm not sure why, but the booking made through Trip.com was almost impossible to be found by the receptionist, and I waited about 30-45 minutes for them to find me on their systems. I was then given a keycard to be able to access the building and the room.
The women's only room I was allocated was downstairs from the entrance... A semi-basement kind of room? There were some tall windows facing the street that cars' lights would come through every now and then, and you could hear pedestrians walking by too. By comparison, I didn't find the bells of St Paul that bothersome.
The facilities were old. The communal bathroom that I had to use (before I realised the room itself had its own bathroom) was disgusting. I wish the beds had some sort of curtain, and that the doors made less noise when opened/closed because everytime someone arrived in the middle of the night or got up in the morning it was loud enough to wake you.
In all fairness, for the price I can't fault this place too much.

整體環境不太理想。優點是距離河邊比較近，走十幾分鍾可以到加拿大水地鐵站，公交其實不太方便的，C10和381，去景點得倒車花很多時間。設施也很一般，在公路旁邊晚上非常非常非常吵，很難入睡。洗澡水太小了，要花很久時間才能洗好。廚房在地下室，而且沒有排氣扇，面積又小，要輪候做飯。入住不復雜，明顯很希望推銷他們的早餐和其他餐飲服務。價格也不便宜，不推薦。

The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean, and there was a garden where I could breathe fresh air. However, my roommates were a bit noisy at night, which is inevitable when staying in a youth hostel.

The hostel was great and worth the stay for different reasons:
1. Amazing location with big lake, near public transportation
2. Friendly and helpful staff, you can borrow hair dryer at the reception. You can keep your bag in locker room also, bring £1 coin or ask lovely staff for tap to pay.
3. Huge shared kitchen with lots of cooking essentials which can be used to cook nearly everything you can.
4. Clean and well maintained room.
Can’t ask for more with this price.

A bit remote from the Hawkshead bus station(25 minutes walk), enjoyed the view on the way though. Limited sockets in the room. Great kitchen and dining room. Helpful and warm staff.

The service staff is very kind, there is a rich and delicious breakfast to make an appointment, but unfortunately the location is a bit far for the hikers, and the Wi-Fi in the room is not smooth, I hope to improve, the others are very good, especially the room is clean and tidy, very comfortable!
