"We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"This was an absolutely fantastic homestay experience. I've stayed in other places where the photos looked great, but the reality was a huge disappointment. So I didn't have high expectations this time, but wow, was I surprised! Could a homestay actually look as good as its pictures? Was the 'butler service' more than just a slogan? And could a room really be this beautiful without a wide-angle lens? This time, I truly experienced it all. If I had to nitpick, I'd suggest the host add a few more hooks in the room. Other than that, there's nothing else to say. If you're reading reviews and researching accommodations, go ahead and book this place with confidence – you won't be disappointed!"

"First time in Dali, and it completely changed my perspective from what I read online. At Idealland, you'll experience a different level of service and environment. They offer free pick-up and drop-off, and the public areas are incredibly photogenic. If I ever come back, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again. It's the tallest building in Idealland, offering stunning views of Idealland, Ideal Garden, and the sea from above."

"what a lovely stay. hosts were super friendly, flexible, and even invited me to a home cooked dinner. boss gave me a free upgrade out of kindness. views from the third floor room are stunning, better than anything from the old town or west shore. cleanliness is top notch and the room has everything you need. highly recommended for anybody looking for somewhere to rewind for a few days (or weeks…). 希望老板不介意我留个满分的评价😚"

"The environment was great, very clean, and smelled wonderful as soon as you opened the door. The scenery was beautiful; you could see Erhai Lake as soon as you drew the curtains in the morning. I initially thought the soundproofing might be a bit poor, but it was surprisingly quiet, perfect for people who like to sleep in. The receptionist was very gentle and had a super friendly attitude. Breakfast was delivered to the room, and it was a nice touch that she didn't knock too early, which was a big plus. The owner is also very handsome and incredibly kind; he was very welcoming and even took us to the car rental place, helping us negotiate the price to prevent us from being overcharged. A very good experience overall (the owner's friend is also very handsome)."

"I rarely write positive reviews, but I think this place deserves one! I booked the room around 11 PM the night before. After comparing many guesthouses in the area, I found this one. A 90+ square meter sea-view suite for only 600+ RMB! Plus, there's only one room per floor, so you don't have to worry about being disturbed. The value is absolutely amazing!!! The room has a super spacious sea view and even a bathtub. Taking a bath while looking at Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake—it's simply divine! As someone who loves ambiance, this place is perfect for me. 🤩 Because I arrived late, the front desk staff waited for me and even helped me with my luggage. They really appreciate the attention to detail. 🥹 Breakfast is right downstairs! 💯 Full marks! Highly recommended!!!"

The decoration style of the inn is simple but stylish, and every detail reveals the owner's care. The room is spacious and bright, and the bed is soft and comfortable, which made me sleep well all night. The most worth mentioning is the service of the inn. "We drove to Dali and booked this guesthouse in a village near Dali Old Town. Parking right outside was a breeze. The guesthouse featured quality furniture and decor, the owner's cats and dogs were incredibly well-behaved, and the breakfast was delicious."
