"We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"This was an absolutely fantastic homestay experience. I've stayed in other places where the photos looked great, but the reality was a huge disappointment. So I didn't have high expectations this time, but wow, was I surprised! Could a homestay actually look as good as its pictures? Was the 'butler service' more than just a slogan? And could a room really be this beautiful without a wide-angle lens? This time, I truly experienced it all. If I had to nitpick, I'd suggest the host add a few more hooks in the room. Other than that, there's nothing else to say. If you're reading reviews and researching accommodations, go ahead and book this place with confidence – you won't be disappointed!"

"The room was neat and clean with a beautiful view. The service was excellent; the owner helped us with our itinerary and even gave my family anti-chafing patches when he heard their feet were hurting. He also helped us with our luggage, going up and down multiple times – he really worked hard! The service was very attentive. The location is convenient, close to Erhai Lake, and there's an electric scooter rental shop nearby if you want to rent one to cycle around the lake. The breakfast was delicious; my family all enjoyed it very much."

"After touring Erhai Lake, Ideal State was my favorite spot. With Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake right before your eyes, this hotel offers an incredible view. Ride-sharing services can't go up the mountain, but the hotel provides a convenient shuttle. The owner and staff are all very warm, hardworking, and patient. Highly recommend!"

"Stumbled upon an absolute gem of an American-style B&B, and staying two nights was an amazing experience! The overall decor shows the owner's thoughtful touches everywhere, with impeccable taste and a perfectly captured vintage American vibe. The common areas of the B&B are incredibly spacious, with plenty of room to move around – never felt cramped. The host is super friendly and warm, always attentive and considerate. My little one even learned to play some percussion instruments here and absolutely loved it, had a blast the whole time. The bedding in the guest rooms is wonderfully soft and comfortable; I slept soundly every night. The breakfast provided by the B&B is delicious, and the complimentary afternoon tea from the owner is beautifully presented and tastes great. Considering the environment, service, and food, it's incredibly good value for money. Highly recommend for both family trips and relaxing getaways. It's already on my list for a second visit!"

The front desk staff was also very attentive, and the breakfast and afternoon tea services were comprehensive. When the first rays of morning sun hit the hotel, the shimmering lake views were absolutely breathtaking.
