Nidemaopaodiaole-This is by far the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at in Dali. It's designed with a beautiful garden aesthetic, and the air is just amazing. The whole hotel feels like a grand estate. The staff are so warm and attentive. The facilities are incredibly comprehensive: a book bar, a regular bar, a sports hall, a restaurant, and a gym (with tons of equipment, which I, as someone who works out daily, absolutely loved!). What I want to praise most about the room is the incredibly spacious shower area, with excellent wet/dry separation. I really love this room type. The breakfast selection is rich and varied, and they even have卡通餐盘 (cartoon-themed plates) – so thoughtful for families traveling with children!

WuyulemiaomiaoThe sudden fireworks display has become one of the most memorable moments of my life.
Thank you for the room upgrade, and thanks to the butler for their problem-solving skills, but providing an honest review is my right.
With such a fantastic location and breathtaking views, the interior design's aesthetic is truly disappointing. It has a 'fake sophistication' vibe, feeling cheap and网红 (internet-famous). My overall impression is that this place is great for photos, but not for living in.
Staying here was a mix of happiness and pain. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be 'fragmented'. It's like dealing with someone who's hot and cold – one moment you feel they're warm and considerate, the next you feel everything they say and do has an ulterior motive.
The bathtub, shower facilities, and toilet were all very good. The hairdryer was a Dyson, and even the disposable bathtub liner was quite thick. The shampoo and shower gel provided were also reputable brands, and the pillows were decent. But the decor is genuinely ugly – do you know that feeling when a stunning woman insists on wearing an 'auntie' hairstyle?
The food, however, is the biggest complaint. It's the worst guesthouse meal I've ever had in my life. The afternoon tea was generous in quantity but terrible in taste, and breakfast was the same – mostly a collection of frozen, pre-made items. There were even flies on the bread, and when I pointed it out to the staff, they didn't seem to care much.

Once again, we say goodbye with that familiar ache of reluctance in our hearts.
Yet this farewell is softened by a unexpected tenderness—a beautiful twist of fate. A sudden bout of altitude sickness in Lijiang forced us to alter our plans and return to Dali. Little did we know this detour would lead us to the most wonderful surprise: XingMu Villa, tucked away on the green slopes of Haidong. Perhaps this was destiny's gentle hand at work all along?
We were truly blessed to meet the villa's kind-hearted owners, whose genuine warmth made us feel as though we had returned to a home we never knew we had.
The goodbye was especially moving. When our driver, Master He, arrived, the owners personally came out to see us off. We shared joyful smiles in a farewell photo, and they gifted us my favorite rose tea—a touching gesture I'll always remember. The hostess, aware of my recent knee injury, carefully helped me into the car, her eyes filled with such sincere care, as if I were her own. When she said how much she enjoyed hosting us and how special we were to her, my heart echoed every word.
Though every wonderful journey must eventually end, the memories we've made here will stay with us forever. As our car carried us away, the gentle scent of rose tea still lingered, a fragrant reminder of this heartwarming chapter.
Until we meet again, XingMu Villa. May you continue to shine brightly, and may every traveler who finds their way to your doors experience the same extraordinary warmth that embraced us during our stay.

Guest UserI rarely write reviews, but this hotel truly touched me. As an architect/interior designer, hotel design, aesthetics, and facilities have always been my top criteria when traveling. I've stayed in many hotels both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book the newly built room type at Zuodu; the older section was just okay in terms of comfort. If you have the option, I definitely recommend choosing the new room types. The hotel is located right on the scenic coastal road. Its somewhat remote location makes it even quieter compared to S Bay, yet the surrounding scenery is still fantastic. What really made me want to check in here was their service. First, I chose two room types, and both included breakfast, plus daily afternoon tea options. The breakfast was quite rich, served buffet style, with Western, Cantonese, and rice noodle options. The restaurant environment is also excellent, with a great ambiance for photos both indoors and outdoors. Honestly, I've been to Dali many times, and hotels in this price range rarely offer breakfast, let alone afternoon tea. A cup of coffee costs 30-40 yuan, and you can order two per room, along with fruit and flower cakes. Besides the food, the hotel's other thoughtful services were also very impressive. This included shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and to and from the airport (we were a group of 5, 3 adults and 2 children, and the hotel provided a complimentary 7-seater shuttle from Longkan Pier, and the airport drop-off price was also upgraded from a 5-seater to a 7-seater for free). Bottled water in the hotel is unlimited and self-service. Instant coffee, tea bags, and steam eye masks are provided daily in the room, and none of them are off-brands. In the public restrooms, they thoughtfully provide sanitary pads and mouthwash, both of which are good brands. In short, whatever you requested, the front desk always responded and resolved it immediately. Upon checkout, they even gave us Pu'er tea cakes as a souvenir. I can truly say their service was exceptional. I will definitely choose Zuodu again next time I come to Dali.

Anonymous UserI have higher requirements for accommodation and spend more time in hotels. I am the one who takes care of hotels when my friends and family travel, because I have pretty good taste in choosing hotels. This one is a no-brainer.
External environment: As in the pictures in other reviews, there is no difference, so I didn’t take any extra photos. In the beautiful villa area, there is a garden path at the entrance, which is very romantic.
Inside the room: The entrance to the room, as shown in Figure 1, is very beautiful. The bed looked out the window. I really like the feeling of this kind of bed. It is very cozy to snuggle in it. As shown in Figure 2. The outside of the balcony bed is shown in Figure 3. The weather was bad during the few days we were in Yunnan, it would have been beautiful if the sun had gone out. Especially highlighting the key points, I personally like this large washbasin mirror, which is facing the window and has great lighting for makeup! ! ! Because I like to do my makeup in natural light. Figure 4.5
Breakfast: I stayed in rooms that cost more than 500 yuan or 1,000 yuan when I came to Yunnan. The regular breakfast in homestays was corn + sweet potato + egg + staple food + tomato. This is the most delicious breakfast I had in Yunnan. It was a complete plate. The rice noodles and noodles were so delicious. Attached photo 6
Transportation: It is difficult to park near the ancient city when driving. It is very convenient to take a taxi here. You can drive directly in and get on the car at the door, and it takes about 20 minutes to go to several pedestrian streets. It’s a two-minute drive to Sannei Ice Cream, which is delicious. Next to Figure 7 is a street selling Bai ethnic cuisine. I didn’t have time to eat there. Finally, attached are the various delicacies I ate here. Because the weather was bad, I just ate and ate.

⸻
I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I really appreciated that transportation within the scenic area was so convenient, with carts provided to take guests to every location easily.
The pool and rooms were both very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The only small improvement I would suggest is more variety in the food options, especially more inclusive choices for Western guests, as the current breakfast is mainly Chinese cuisine. If you’d like to see more about this hotel and generally activities to do in Dali and the contact details. I’ll gladly share on my YouTube channel soon. You can subscribe @nonisdiaries
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Cangshan No. 1 is a hotel with advanced concepts. The management model is a team of butlers who create a feeling of home for guests and think of everything in front of them.
The environment is beautiful and beautiful, with swimming pools, white beaches, coconut trees... creating a different paradise.
Every employee has a strong sense of priority and their service attitude is excellent, gentle and comfortable. Not only did he take the initiative to inquire, but he also introduced the characteristics and customs of the Bai people in a very thoughtful way.
The room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Each room has its own bathing pool, dry and wet are separated, and even the toilet is fully automatic. Very clean!
Breakfast and afternoon tea are richly prepared and have local characteristics. There is also a heart-warming evening sweet soup every night. My family and I felt that choosing Cangshan No. 1 for this trip was a great value!
