"Choosing Yan Yun Hotel was absolutely the best decision for my trip to Dali. My only regret is that I only booked one night and had to leave so soon. The environment here is absolutely stunning, and the service is top-notch. The breakfast was delicious, and they even offered a complimentary afternoon tea set. "The hotel service was excellent, and the front desk staff were very welcoming. They helped me with my luggage upon arrival and even brought a complimentary plate of watermelon. The bathroom was spacious, and the shampoo and shower gel came in large bottles. The heating lamp was quite effective, and the exhaust fan was surprisingly quiet. Although the hotel is right on the edge of Dali Ancient City, it was very peaceful. There was a slight smell of cooking fumes around 8 or 9 PM, which is understandable given the location. The hotel's decor is very unique and beautiful."

MM528856****We stayed for four nights at this guesthouse with our two children. You can see both Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake from here, and the decor truly has a strong artistic flair. I'm so grateful and impressed by the owners. The hostess herself does the cleaning, and I was especially touched when she helped us wash, dry, and fold clothes we hadn't had time for. Her attitude was wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful and nutritious. There's a swimming pool that's perfect for kids to play in on sunny days. Our children loved the environment, the cats, and the young man working there. When a package wasn't delivered to the door, the hostess kindly arranged for her family to pick it up for us before we left. She also helped us get our luggage to the car. It's rare to find such service, both picking up and dropping off guests. Thank you! I wish the owners and their family all the best, thriving business, and happiness!

GGuest UserI found this resort on xhs before my trip with my mom and we had the most amazing time! Upon arrival we had our room upgraded to our dream water facing suite with a jacuzzi and a swing, who could ask for more! They also prepared a water side afternoon tea for us, right before a private photo shoot with their in house professional photographer for photos on their beautiful property. The amenity kits were also fully stocked and their staff were very friendly and helpful, they even did our laundry. We would recommend this to everyone and we will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Dali!

The B&B's location is excellent, though the surrounding roads are quite narrow, making transportation a bit inconvenient. However, the owner thoughtfully provides complimentary shuttle service for trips to dinner, daily outings, and airport transfers, so getting around was never a concern. The service at this B&B is absolutely top-notch. The staff are gentle and patient, always willing to help, and their attention to detail is truly heartwarming. They kindly offer afternoon tea and a soothing bedtime dessert soup daily, both exquisite and comforting. Breakfast is different every day; we had Chinese on the first day and Western on the second. The special rice noodles were flavorful, though my only minor complaint is that there wasn't much broth. The complimentary dried plums in the lobby were delicious – I even packed some to take home as a souvenir. While the guest rooms are compact, they are well-appointed with all the necessary facilities, offering a very comfortable stay. The only small drawback was that the wooden door lock was a bit tricky to operate. Cleanliness was exceptional; the rooms were meticulously cleaned with no overlooked corners. Upon checkout, we were thoughtfully given flower cakes and a custom cloth bag, showcasing their incredible attention to detail. Our entire stay was relaxing and therapeutic, making this an excellent choice for a stay in Dali. The complimentary travel photos were also lovely, but it's a shame there wasn't a package deal, as 50 RMB for one retouched photo felt a bit pricey.

Just a seven-minute drive from the Old Town, we stumbled upon the gentle embrace of Yue Shanhai – nestled by the mountains with a view of the sea. Directly accessible via National Highway 214, it's a secluded paradise where even the wind seems to linger. You don't need to go all the way to Kyoto; their garden is already overflowing with romance. Sparse greenery, blossoming paths, and the elegance of a dry landscape garden blend seamlessly with Bai ethnic style. Every step feels like walking through a poem. Strolling with my child, even time seemed to slow down. We stayed in a two-story courtyard suite. Opening the window revealed the mountains, and closing the door, we could hear the wind, cherishing every moment of our family time. The hotel lobby is spacious and elegant. The sweet scent of afternoon tea lingered, and while I sipped a refreshing drink, my child chased after the floral fragrance. This is what perfect travel looks like. The sunrise was the biggest surprise! No need to brave the cold by Erhai Lake; the third-floor terrace offered a complete panoramic view. The morning light pierced through the clouds, illuminating the outline of Cangshan Mountain and splashing across the turquoise waters of Erhai. Wrapped in the warm glow, we took photos before heading downstairs for a hearty breakfast, feeling a warmth spread through our hearts. GGuest UserI rarely write reviews, but this hotel truly touched me. As an architect/interior designer, hotel design, aesthetics, and facilities have always been my top criteria when traveling. I've stayed in many hotels both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book the newly built room type at Zuodu; the older section was just okay in terms of comfort. If you have the option, I definitely recommend choosing the new room types. The hotel is located right on the scenic coastal road. Its somewhat remote location makes it even quieter compared to S Bay, yet the surrounding scenery is still fantastic. What really made me want to check in here was their service. First, I chose two room types, and both included breakfast, plus daily afternoon tea options. The breakfast was quite rich, served buffet style, with Western, Cantonese, and rice noodle options. The restaurant environment is also excellent, with a great ambiance for photos both indoors and outdoors. Honestly, I've been to Dali many times, and hotels in this price range rarely offer breakfast, let alone afternoon tea. A cup of coffee costs 30-40 yuan, and you can order two per room, along with fruit and flower cakes. Besides the food, the hotel's other thoughtful services were also very impressive. This included shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and to and from the airport (we were a group of 5, 3 adults and 2 children, and the hotel provided a complimentary 7-seater shuttle from Longkan Pier, and the airport drop-off price was also upgraded from a 5-seater to a 7-seater for free). Bottled water in the hotel is unlimited and self-service. Instant coffee, tea bags, and steam eye masks are provided daily in the room, and none of them are off-brands. In the public restrooms, they thoughtfully provide sanitary pads and mouthwash, both of which are good brands. In short, whatever you requested, the front desk always responded and resolved it immediately. Upon checkout, they even gave us Pu'er tea cakes as a souvenir. I can truly say their service was exceptional. I will definitely choose Zuodu again next time I come to Dali.

GGuest UserOverall, it's a great place! It's located on a slope, and the front desk upgraded us to a full sea-view room overlooking Erhai Lake. There's a restaurant nearby with good food, and for breakfast, you can choose between Chinese and Western options. It takes about 35 minutes to get to Dali Ancient City. The swimming pool would be great in summer, and the kids even did some crafts, led by a very patient teacher!

GGuest UserThe B&B I stayed in during my trip to Dali was truly a delightful experience! The moment we opened the door, the two rows of purple Clivia orchids were breathtakingly beautiful. The courtyard room we booked was even more charming, private, and cozy. The B&B is located in a prime neighborhood with clear signage and a luxurious feel. The B&B is conveniently located, making it easy to reach Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake, and the city center, especially without lugging luggage. There are also many authentic local restaurants nearby. This stay was a perfect experience, with excellent value for money. The service from the host was excellent, and the breakfast made by the aunt was delicious.

There are chairs in the room where you can take in the beautiful views of Erhai Lake. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and was very plentiful. Highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserArrived quite late, but check-in was smooth. Had dinner at the hotel, making use of their self-service rice noodles. The room was spacious and very clean, and the small balcony was a pleasant touch. A huge plus was how quiet the room was; the only noise was the wind coming in because I'd left the balcony door open. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy these past few days, so I missed out on the sunrise, which I heard is incredibly beautiful. Breakfast offered a great variety and everything tasted delicious. Going around 8 AM meant fewer people, making for a very pleasant experience and none of the usual crowds you'd expect during a May Day holiday. My kids participated in the hotel's afternoon kite painting and food street activities and had so much fun they didn't even want to leave for dinner.
