Once again, we say goodbye with that familiar ache of reluctance in our hearts.
Yet this farewell is softened by a unexpected tenderness—a beautiful twist of fate. A sudden bout of altitude sickness in Lijiang forced us to alter our plans and return to Dali. Little did we know this detour would lead us to the most wonderful surprise: XingMu Villa, tucked away on the green slopes of Haidong. Perhaps this was destiny's gentle hand at work all along?
We were truly blessed to meet the villa's kind-hearted owners, whose genuine warmth made us feel as though we had returned to a home we never knew we had.
The goodbye was especially moving. When our driver, Master He, arrived, the owners personally came out to see us off. We shared joyful smiles in a farewell photo, and they gifted us my favorite rose tea—a touching gesture I'll always remember. The hostess, aware of my recent knee injury, carefully helped me into the car, her eyes filled with such sincere care, as if I were her own. When she said how much she enjoyed hosting us and how special we were to her, my heart echoed every word.
Though every wonderful journey must eventually end, the memories we've made here will stay with us forever. As our car carried us away, the gentle scent of rose tea still lingered, a fragrant reminder of this heartwarming chapter.
Until we meet again, XingMu Villa. May you continue to shine brightly, and may every traveler who finds their way to your doors experience the same extraordinary warmth that embraced us during our stay.

WusimafangYunnan hotels really go all out to outcompete each other, and hotels in Shuanglang are even more competitive than those in the ancient town. This particular B&B, Tinghuadao, offers stunning beachfront views, a lavish afternoon tea, and even complimentary tremella soup in the evening. They'll even wash and dry your clothes for you – they really focus on providing emotional value and a great experience.
Honestly, I was in a bit of a bad mood after the long, traffic-filled drive. But as soon as we arrived at the parking lot, two staff members were there to greet us – one to help with luggage and the other to guide us. Upon arrival, we were offered drinks and our room was upgraded. The room was incredibly well-equipped with high-quality amenities; I've only encountered such comprehensive provisions in a few hotels in Japan. The staff member who showed us to our room mentioned that everything was complimentary and we could use and consume as much as we liked. We were also assigned a butler, who was incredibly responsive and took care of everything for us. As the sun set, we enjoyed the view, had some food, listened to the music from nearby bars, and later, counted the stars – it was truly delightful.
The breakfast on the second day was exquisite, and the restaurant itself was very aesthetically pleasing. After breakfast, we spent some time taking photos around the hotel's scenic spots – our tie-dye outfits from the day before weren't wasted! When we checked out, a staff member drove us back to the parking lot, gave us a lovely souvenir, and even reimbursed our parking fees. They really went above and beyond.
I'd read reviews about some B&Bs in Shuanglang not living up to their online descriptions, so we were a bit worried about a bad experience when we booked. But as soon as we arrived, all our worries disappeared. When I shared photos with my friends, everyone was asking which hotel it was! I hope Tinghuadao maintains its high standards, combining beautiful scenery, excellent service, and quality to ensure its long-term success.

Guest UserI rarely write reviews, but this hotel truly touched me. As an architect/interior designer, hotel design, aesthetics, and facilities have always been my top criteria when traveling. I've stayed in many hotels both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book the newly built room type at Zuodu; the older section was just okay in terms of comfort. If you have the option, I definitely recommend choosing the new room types. The hotel is located right on the scenic coastal road. Its somewhat remote location makes it even quieter compared to S Bay, yet the surrounding scenery is still fantastic. What really made me want to check in here was their service. First, I chose two room types, and both included breakfast, plus daily afternoon tea options. The breakfast was quite rich, served buffet style, with Western, Cantonese, and rice noodle options. The restaurant environment is also excellent, with a great ambiance for photos both indoors and outdoors. Honestly, I've been to Dali many times, and hotels in this price range rarely offer breakfast, let alone afternoon tea. A cup of coffee costs 30-40 yuan, and you can order two per room, along with fruit and flower cakes. Besides the food, the hotel's other thoughtful services were also very impressive. This included shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and to and from the airport (we were a group of 5, 3 adults and 2 children, and the hotel provided a complimentary 7-seater shuttle from Longkan Pier, and the airport drop-off price was also upgraded from a 5-seater to a 7-seater for free). Bottled water in the hotel is unlimited and self-service. Instant coffee, tea bags, and steam eye masks are provided daily in the room, and none of them are off-brands. In the public restrooms, they thoughtfully provide sanitary pads and mouthwash, both of which are good brands. In short, whatever you requested, the front desk always responded and resolved it immediately. Upon checkout, they even gave us Pu'er tea cakes as a souvenir. I can truly say their service was exceptional. I will definitely choose Zuodu again next time I come to Dali.

Guest UserWe chose Coco as our butler for our trip to Dali, and the hotel was a pleasant surprise! Check-in at the front desk was efficient and quick, and the staff were incredibly helpful, even offering thoughtful advice on travel routes and reminding us about the tidal lane in advance, which made our self-drive smooth and safe. The guest room was meticulously cleaned, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent – I slept soundly until morning. The hotel is close to the ancient city, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. Both the facilities and services are top-notch. I truly recommend it to all travelers.

GuozigegeThis hotel is close to Gantong Temple and backed by Cangshan Mountain. It's also not far from Dali Ancient City, though you'll need a taxi to get there. The hotel offers great views, with a distant sight of Erhai Lake. If possible, remember to request an east-facing room for the sunrise. There are many rooms available. A big thank you to Grace for her prompt support; I had a satisfying stay.

Buxiangzuida_This was my first time in Dali, and I chose this Indigo hotel for a three-night stay. Overall, I was extremely satisfied, it exceeded my expectations. Here's a brief review from a few perspectives:
**Service:** From the moment we arrived, someone opened the car door for us, helped with luggage, and assisted with check-in. The service immediately made us feel at home. Throughout our stay, the hotel staff were professional and incredibly accommodating.
**Facilities:** For a hotel that opened in 2014, the facilities are exceptionally well-maintained, which was beyond what I expected.
**Cleanliness:** Generally, it was excellent, both the hardware and the software. The only minor imperfection might be the sofa cushions, which showed some stains due to age, but this was a small detail that didn't detract from the overall positive impression.
**Food & Beverage:** I must commend the breakfast here – it's fantastic! The variety is extensive, the ingredients are fresh, and the taste is superb. There's something to satisfy everyone, regardless of age.
**Other Suggestions:** A few small improvements in details could make things even more convenient for guests. For example, at breakfast, I wanted some pepper, but there were two shakers on the table without labels, making it hard to distinguish between salt and pepper. Also, there was no information available in the room, either print or digital, detailing the hotel's floor layout and functions. This is quite important for guests, especially since the hotel has Building A and Building B, with most main functional areas located in Building A. Clear guidance here would be very helpful.
**Summary:** All in all, it exceeded my expectations, and if my family and I visit Dali again, we would definitely choose to stay here.

Cangshan No. 1 is a hotel with advanced concepts. The management model is a team of butlers who create a feeling of home for guests and think of everything in front of them.
The environment is beautiful and beautiful, with swimming pools, white beaches, coconut trees... creating a different paradise.
Every employee has a strong sense of priority and their service attitude is excellent, gentle and comfortable. Not only did he take the initiative to inquire, but he also introduced the characteristics and customs of the Bai people in a very thoughtful way.
The room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Each room has its own bathing pool, dry and wet are separated, and even the toilet is fully automatic. Very clean!
Breakfast and afternoon tea are richly prepared and have local characteristics. There is also a heart-warming evening sweet soup every night. My family and I felt that choosing Cangshan No. 1 for this trip was a great value!

The B&B I stayed in during my trip to Dali was truly a delightful experience! The moment we opened the door, the two rows of purple Clivia orchids were breathtakingly beautiful. The courtyard room we booked was even more charming, private, and cozy. The B&B is located in a prime neighborhood with clear signage and a luxurious feel. The B&B is conveniently located, making it easy to reach Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake, and the city center, especially without lugging luggage. There are also many authentic local restaurants nearby. This stay was a perfect experience, with excellent value for money. The service from the host was excellent, and the breakfast made by the aunt was delicious.
