"This guesthouse is absolutely lovely! My family recommended it to us, and it truly lived up to their praise.
The location is fantastic! It's nestled within the Shuanglang Ancient Town, offering a peaceful retreat while still providing stunning views of Erhai Lake.
Breakfast: Healthy and plentiful, with milk, soy milk, coffee, plus a pre-arranged healthy meal that changes daily – really well done! The service from the auntie was also excellent; she even thoughtfully packed up food for our baby who wasn't awake yet. Thank you!
Bed: Just the right firmness, very comfortable!
Restaurant: A very photogenic spot, great for taking pictures.
Parking: There's a parking lot, and the butler will pick you up with a car and help with luggage. Very convenient!
Room Facilities: Not brand new, but clean and hygienic, perfectly adequate. The heating was also very good!
You can directly feed the seagulls and watch the sunset from the balcony, and enjoy the sun in the afternoon!
Afternoon Tea: Includes fruits, desserts, coffee, and fruit tea!
Travel Photography: The collaborating photographer is quite skilled, with good equipment, and the post-editing is excellent! Definitely worth it! They're also great at capturing emotions and getting the right shots!

Butler Service: The one-on-one service is incredibly attentive. Although most are male butlers, they are genuinely polite, prompt, thoughtful, and wonderful. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect – not amidst the noisy crowds, but also not so isolated it feels eerie. It's just right for true relaxation. Our room offered an unbeatable panoramic view of the sea and mountains once the curtains were drawn, showcasing the stunning interplay of Erhai Lake and the surrounding peaks. Every picture we took looked like a postcard. If it weren't for the cold, we would have slept with the windows open every night, feeling like we were outdoors.
The room itself was incredibly clean and well-maintained, with attention to every detail. Staying in such an environment truly made us feel like we had found a hidden paradise.
What left the deepest impression on me was the warm and genuine hospitality of the two owners. They weren't like typical business operators; they felt more like long-lost friends. They offered thoughtful advice, and in the evenings, we'd share tea and chat until late into the night. There was absolutely no sales pressure or hidden charges throughout our stay, just an abundance of warmth and peace of mind. It truly felt like having a home away from home.

"This hotel is perfectly located near the South Gate of the ancient city, just a 10-minute walk to the bustling core areas like Renmin Road and Foreigner Street. It offers the best of both worlds: escaping the noise and crowds of the city center while still being able to immerse yourself in its vibrant atmosphere in an instant. Getting around is incredibly convenient.
The surrounding area is very well-equipped with amenities; there are plenty of convenience stores and small restaurants, and getting a taxi is easy.
Although the hotel doesn't have many rooms, the front desk staff seem to wear many hats and are often stretched thin. You can tell they work very hard and are quite busy.
Overall, this is a top-notch hotel next to the ancient city, boasting an excellent location, great value for money, and truly personalized service.

XXiruoWe decided last minute to stay an extra day in Dali and booked this guesthouse, and unexpectedly, we stumbled upon a gem! It's a shame we only stayed one night because we wanted to extend our stay the next day but found it was fully booked. The hostess who checked us in was incredibly warm and welcoming; she helped us with our luggage and even brought us some fruit (the dates were absolutely delicious! Loved them!). In the morning, they also served delicious rice noodles for breakfast, even better than the ones we specifically sought out in a restaurant. Waking up and opening the window to a view of the fields really brightened our mood. We also spent some time sitting in the courtyard and playing with the two dogs before checking out and leaving. The guesthouse is very close to Longkan Pier, just a few minutes' walk away. You can easily catch a taxi right outside to go to other places. A short walk away, there's a station for Qingju electric bikes, which you can use to ride to Dali Ancient City. Next time we visit Dali, we'll definitely stay here again!

When checking in, the owner put a protective sleeve over my ID before returning it to me, which was a thoughtful gesture.
After I got my room, the owner took out a map of Erhai Lake and its surroundings, explaining the features of various attractions and recommending itineraries. They also suggested local eateries nearby.
2. **Well-Equipped & Spotlessly Clean**
The guesthouse has a tea room (where you can practice calligraphy and drink tea) and a pavilion. Plus, there are 13 cats and 2 dogs you can cuddle with!
In the room, you'll find a smart toilet, a dryer, and a foot bath (perfect for soaking tired feet after a day of exploring).
3. **Convenient Location**
It's centrally located to all the attractions, making it easy to get anywhere.
4. **Warm & Welcoming Atmosphere**
This guesthouse feels like more than just a temporary stop; it's a 'sanctuary, a temporary home for travelers.'
The owner is from Northeast China, and you can really feel their straightforward personality and kind heart. They've rescued many cats and dogs.
The staff were incredibly detailed with their instructions, like ”the slippers are slippery, don't wear them into the bathroom” or ”how to use XX, where XX is, if XX has a problem, find me.” They even gave us a huge fruit platter!
I only stayed for two nights and it wasn't enough; I wanted to extend my stay but couldn't due to my train ticket.
If I come back to Dali next time, I'll definitely return to see the cats and dogs again!

GGuest UserThis is my seventh time in Dali, and it's the best hotel I've stayed in out of five! First off, the room layout was exactly to my liking. I could lie in bed and watch the sunrise over Erhai Lake, and there was a sofa area, a round dining table, and a large bathtub by the floor-to-ceiling windows – definitely added to the relaxing vacation vibe! The bathroom fixtures were Kohler, and the walk-in closet and vanity area were very spacious. The curtains were automatic, and the AC and curtain controls were right by the bed, which was very convenient. The breakfast was unbeatable – braised chicken wings, braised beef brisket, honey-glazed ribs, and spiced beef. Being able to enjoy a buffet until noon was seriously impressive; I'd call it the ultimate spread. I also have to commend the daily fruit plate and goodnight dessert. Other places only offer it on the first day, but here, I stayed three days and got it every day – incredibly thoughtful. The hotel's front and back yards were also fantastic. My kids loved the slide and swings in the back, and the succulent boat was thriving. The parking lot was also spacious. The nearby ecological corridor had great photo spots, and there were lots of seagulls. When I checked out, I even received a parting gift, and there was a self-service fridge with drinks and beer. A perfect 100-point review, I'll definitely be back!

JjayyyysinI had a soothing and comfortable short stay at 山隅一舍. The staff was very personable, accommodating, and kind, proactively offering tea/coffee and prepared fruit. The room was clean and had a great view of the courtyard. At check-in, she even offered to upgrade the two-bed room I had booked to a room with a single larger bed but I was happy to stay in the original room as it was already prepared. I stillfound it to be a very thoughtful offer. The beds were also equipped with heating mats, which offered great sleep in the winter weather. The neighbors have some roosters that rise early, but I found it quite charming and fitting for the “out of the big city” ambiance.
I could honestly just sit in the courtyard all day watching the cat and the fish. It was truly a tranquil oasis in a town that sees many domestic and international tourists. The breakfast also tasted clean, fresh, and was promptly prepared by the host when I woke up. She was also happy to offer recommendations to both myself and other guests (I even overheard her going the extra mile, offering to pickup pastries for the other guests to try at their request). The B&B is situated very close to the ancient town without being overwhelming, which although quite commercialized, is still a fun stroll since it’s nearby. The location is also a short DiDi ride away from many sights along Erhai Lake. Dali is full of independently-run accommodations and shops like this, but this one stood out for its great hospitality and soothing environment. The cost performance was also great. A hidden gem for sure!

From check-in to check-out, the manager was consistently attentive. We enjoyed complimentary afternoon tea and a perfectly balanced, nutritious breakfast. The concierge carried our luggage all the way to the boarding point and even gave us a farewell gift. Staying at this hotel, looking out at the Cangshan Mountains, with Erhai Lake at my feet, listening to the sea breeze, and watching the seabirds – it was truly a worthwhile trip! I love to run, and the manager recommended a running route along Erhai Lake, a 9km scenic run. That kind of joy is something only I can truly experience; it's incredibly healing.

2. The rooms are generally clean, and the furniture is distinctive, mostly antique wooden pieces. The toiletries have a normal, pleasant scent and are of decent quality 🧴.
3. For service, I have to give 🔟 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😊.
The lobby service is available until 12:30 AM, and they'll even bring your takeout deliveries to your room.
A hidden service is that the butler can mix cocktails for you 🥃 (P.S. He said he hadn't made one in a long time and took a while to find the alcohol, but it wasn't expensive. 😁 The butler is also very engaging to chat with and enthusiastically recommended local attractions).
The complimentary evening sweet soup is also delicious 🍵, and the local service aunties warmly deliver it to your room. The auntie was truly wonderful, enthusiastically helping to wash and dry my clothes before placing them in the room 👖👔. Everyone in the WeChat butler group is very friendly and polite 🧑🤝🧑, and they also provide useful tips about the weather and travel routes 🦯️🌤.
Breakfast is very generous 🍞🍳🍜🏻🥛🥣; you can choose from a menu, and they'll deliver it to your room on time (actually, eating in the downstairs restaurant would probably be a lovely experience too, but I'm a bit lazy, so I opted for in-room breakfast 😆). They also enthusiastically help with luggage 🧳.
The Dali milk at breakfast is exceptionally good!

We had a truly memorable stay at this charming inn. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding—starting with a complimentary one-way airport pickup that made our arrival smooth and stress-free.
Upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a spacious suite, where a welcome platter of fresh fruits awaited us. The room was immaculate, comfortable, and well-appointed, with plenty of space to relax.
The staff and owner, were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Mr. Li who picked us from airport offered to drive us around (with a fee) to several local attractions and introduced us to some delicious local food, which added a unique and personal touch to our experience.
The inn is tucked away beside a dry creek, creating a peaceful and quiet setting. The landscaping is beautiful and well-maintained, enhancing the overall sense of tranquility. We especially enjoyed the rooftop lounging area, which offers stunning views of Erhai Lake—a perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day.
Breakfast was included and thoughtfully prepared, adding to the overall value and comfort of our stay.
We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene getaway with warm, attentive service and a touch of local charm.

GGuest UserThis B&B, located inside Dali Ancient City, is a traditional 'Sanheyuan' (three-sided courtyard) with distinctive Bai ethnic characteristics. Breakfast, personally cooked by the owner's mother, offered a good variety, and the rice noodles were delicious. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. Our family of three stayed in a suite with three beds, which allowed everyone their own space. The beds were very comfortable and had electric blankets. The shower had stable water pressure and hot water came on quickly. On the third floor, there's a small glass-enclosed terrace where you can do laundry and, crucially, enjoy direct views of Cangshan Mountain. The entire B&B has full Wi-Fi coverage, and it was really pleasant to work from the third-floor terrace. The apples provided by the B&B are grown by the owner themselves and were very tasty! We stayed for six consecutive nights and highly recommend it.
