Hamburg Hotels with Gym

The hotel location is great, just a 5-minute walk from the Hamburg Airport departure level. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was charged an extra 25 euros for early check-in (2 hours prior). The front desk staff accidentally charged me for the room twice, but after Ctrip intervened, the duplicate charge was refunded a few days later. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

My stay at the Crowne Plaza Hamburg - City Alster was absolutely superb. From the moment I arrived, the elegant and professional atmosphere was noticeable. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a incredibly comfortable bed and a fantastic view. The location is also ideal for both enjoying the beautiful Alster lake and accessing the city center. It’s the attentive service and premium amenities that set this hotel apart. I felt thoroughly pampered and would not hesitate to return for another luxurious stay.

Nice and friendly staff who provide service that lives up to the high standard expected from Novotel. They were welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout the stay, making the overall experience very pleasant. The hotel is well situated in a public transportation hub, offering easy access to many tourist attractions, which makes it a convenient base for exploring the city. The combination of a great location and excellent service made the stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Overall the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Two points worth noting that guests should be aware of: 1. The curtain pocket (the part at the top that hides the curtain rail) is not deep enough, so plenty of light comes in around it. For people use to full blackout in bedrooms, this may be disturbing - especially when the sun rises in the morning. 2. As noted in some other reviews, the pillows are EXTREMELY low density. They are so low density, that there is close to zero support once lying on them and the weight of your head has compressed the filling (down I think). I fortunately brought my own pillow, however if I had not, this review score would be much lower as it would have made it difficult for me to sleep the pillows are so unusually soft/airy.

Everything was perfect, but one thing that could improve. I stayed in the room which exactly on the side of the access door to the rooms area. It was a little noisy, as you could hear when the door is opening and closing.

Great stay — second time and still amazing I had another wonderful stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Hamburg — this was actually my second time here. The first time I stayed with my mother, and this time with my fiancée, and both experiences have been consistently great. The service is excellent. The staff are always smiling, very kind, and extremely polite, which really makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Everything about the hotel feels lovely and well taken care of. The gym is nice and well-equipped, perfect if you want to keep up your routine while traveling. Breakfast is amazing — plenty of options and everything fresh and tasty, definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The location is also fantastic. It’s close to public transport (there’s a tram stop nearby), making it easy to get around the city. There’s also a great falafel/döner spot close by if you’re looking for a late-night snack, which was a fun bonus. Plus, it’s very close to Westfield, where you can enjoy the scenery and find lots of nice restaurants and shops. Overall, an amazing stay once again. Thank you to the whole team — I’ll definitely be back.

The Barcelo is located about 5 minutes walk from the main train station but in a quiet area. The rooms themselves are very clean, ultra modern and elegantly decorated in light colours. The bed is very comfortable and the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent. Having a laptop sized safe is also extremely convenient. The only downside is that I found the corridors very dark and dimly lit - I assume this is for environmental reasons - but as a lone female traveller it made me feel a bit uneasy

Overall, the hotel gives a modern and appealing impression. The interior design feels contemporary and well-maintained, and the general cleanliness throughout the hotel was acceptable. The room amenities are adequate and functional. The very comfortable king-size bed is a particular highlight. Even with the window open on the 5th floor, the noise level was pleasant and totally acceptable. However, there's room for improvement regarding the practical outfitting of the room and bathroom. Six hangers are rather few for two people, and there's a lack of additional hooks or other options for hanging clothes or towels. In the bathroom, and especially in the shower, storage space is either completely absent or insufficient. The toilet could also be noticeably cleaner with consistent use of cleaner and a brush. The breakfast was generally sufficient, but unfortunately, on Sunday, it was significantly below the standard of a 4-star hotel. By 8:30 AM, key items like scrambled eggs, tomato-mozzarella, and salmon were already unavailable. An hour later, eggs, Nutella, and grilled vegetables were completely missing. Apparently, at times, no clean cups were available as they were still in the dishwasher. The service was mostly handled by a young employee who, despite being very diligent, couldn't manage to clear and reset tables quickly enough on his own. Unfortunately, there were also hygiene issues with the tableware: some tea glasses had visible tea stains, and cutlery, plates, and bowls were not always completely clean. Overall, a modern hotel with good room comfort, but significant weaknesses in breakfast service and cleanliness in the dining area.
