Osaka Hostels

I absolutely loved my stay at Hostel Caranashi! It was honestly one of my favorite places I stayed during my trip to Japan. The whole hostel has a beautiful Japanese-style design, and I really loved the warm and cozy atmosphere. What I appreciated most is that the hostel looks exactly like the photos. All the photos I took here are completely unedited and have no filters or color adjustments at all, so what you see online is genuinely what you get in real life. I especially recommend this place for female travelers. There is a lovely vanity table, which was so convenient for doing makeup and getting ready. They also provide cleansing oil, toner, and lotion, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. These little details really made me feel comfortable and cared for during my stay. The location is also wonderful if you want to experience everyday Japanese life. The hostel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, away from the busy tourist streets, and there is a small park nearby. I really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and seeing a more peaceful and authentic side of Japan. If you are looking for a beautiful, cozy, and peaceful hostel where you can experience a more traditional Japanese atmosphere, I would definitely recommend Hostel Caranashi. I had such a lovely experience here and would absolutely choose to stay here again!

Absolutely incredible experience. The public bath and amenities was a wonder after a long day of sightseeing. The bed was comfortable and spacious, all areas were clean. The staff were impossible to fault as they were polite and thoughtful on every opportunity. For the price of a hostel room this is service for a higher end hotel.

The accommodation was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which I really appreciated. I frequently saw staff members cleaning throughout the day. The toilets, showers, sleeping areas, and locker spaces were all spotless. It's close to Namba Station Exit 25, but I'd recommend taking the escalator at Exit 24 and walking a bit further. Exit 25 has narrow stairs, making it difficult to carry luggage up and down. The location is great for shopping, being close to the famous Glico Man and roughly halfway between Nankai Namba Station and Shinsaibashi Station. There were three minor downsides: Firstly, the Wi-Fi connection was unreliable. Secondly, the sleeping area felt quite sunken, almost as if I was feeling the floor beneath. Thirdly, although the reception is on the 5th floor, the sleeping area is women-only. However, when I stepped out, there were men also present in the common lounge area.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right near many popular attractions, and there are tons of dining options, from trendy spots to budget-friendly restaurants. It was clean and tidy, no complaints there. My only issue was the check-in time, which is super late at 5:00 PM – probably the latest in all of Japan. I had an overnight flight, landed at 8:00 AM, and had to tough it out until 5:00 PM to check in. My eyes were bloodshot while I was out exploring, and I even dozed off for 20 minutes at an attraction. They wouldn't let me check in early either. I really hope they can optimize the check-in time to be a bit more reasonable and guest-friendly!

It's clear this hostel primarily caters to Japanese locals, especially since it even has a public bath ♨. Also, be warned: if you don't check out on time, they charge an extra 1000 yen per hour! 😨😨😨 After two hours, the cost is almost as much as a night's stay, so guests really need to keep that in mind when checking in! The location is indeed excellent 👍 and feels very safe 👍. The sleeping space might be a bit small, but I was genuinely surprised and impressed that even in such a tiny area, there was a TV with headphones! 📺 The common areas are very spacious, and the seating is comfortable; there's even a sofa and reading nook. There's also a kitchen where you can order food. The bathrooms have a washer and dryer, though only one of each. I used them in the morning and didn't have to wait.

A cozy place, just like home. It was super convenient having the bedroom, sink, and bathroom all on the same floor. But the best part was being able to freely socialize with friends from all over the world.

It’s really difficult for any hostel to beat this one from the convenience of its location a few 100 meters from Namba station and dotonbori street, the sparkling cleanliness, super nice and kind staff, to the great amenities (including free green tea, miso soup) and the value for money (I paid 2500¥ for my super comfortable stay)

This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and I was really impressed! If you opt for a slightly more premium room, it honestly feels pretty similar to a standard hotel. The location is incredibly convenient; you're in the tourist area within a 5-minute walk. Plus, the hotel has excellent facilities, including a restaurant, massage services, and a lounge. I'll definitely choose this place again when I'm traveling alone for work next time.

This one just beats all my other stays in Japan, it was seriously that good. The location is near Umeda Station, a super quick three-minute walk, and it was so easy to find amazing local cuisine nearby. The public bath is the absolute MVP here. I was totally not expecting someone with a tattoo on the back like me to be allowed in, but it was fine. My Japanese friend even said, ”Your public bath is way too good to be the one of a hotel, it should be a private public bath.” The quality is superb, and the amenities are fully equipped with everything you have in your own bathroom: hair spray, shampoo, hair conditioner, sponge, razor, nail clipper, nourishing cream, toothbrush, toothpaste and woww a lot. You put heart in every detail. It was my first experience with a Japanese public bath, and it was the best. The staff are super friendly but still uphold guests’ privacy. Having a lot of guests, it was surprisingly enough to sleep. Just one quick recommendation: The hostel requires a daily check-in even when you book consecutive days. For us, it was no problem sorting out and communicating with staffs. But some foreign guests seemed a bit confused by the process. If they could clarify that for non-Japanese speakers better, the place would be beyond perfect! Thanks for the excellent experience!

I will use it with four family members to go to the Osaka Expo. We exchanged check-in time by email in advance, and it was very smooth on the day. In midsummer Osaka, it was so hot that I thought I would fall, and the air conditioning was very good and comfortable in the facility. The shower room was also clean and the bed was enough to heal the fatigue. There is a 7-Eleven near the hotel, and the station at Osaka Port is also in front of you. There are no four-person rooms in other hotels, so it is recommended to use it in families and groups. I wanted to stay again.
