The location is fantastic, right outside the JR station and a 5-minute walk from Universal Studios Japan's entrance. There's a convenience store and shops downstairs – a perfect choice. We even went back to the hotel to rest when it got too hot at Universal Studios, then re-entered in the evening to continue the fun. After a long day of walking, a relaxing bath and soak at the top floor spa in the evening was exactly what we needed to unwind. Everything was perfect, except for the crowds – too many people at breakfast and in the showers.

If you love exploring towns on foot, this place is a perfect fit for you. I had already visited Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori River before, so this time I wanted to explore a new area. The Tennoji area, which is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, has many attractions. For example, there's Tsutenkaku (a tower with an observation deck), and the Shinsekai area, which is full of local shops and gives you the feeling of stepping back in time to 40 or 50 years ago. Right next to these areas, there’s a large park that includes a zoo, a museum, and a historical mansion built in the Edo period. Shrines and temples can be found all around as well. The hotel is in a convenient location for walking around these spots. Since the hotel has a Buddhist theme, the interior isn’t luxurious, but it’s neat and clean. The room I stayed in (a superior single) had everything I needed. If you’re traveling with a large suitcase for a week-long trip, you might find it a bit tight to open it fully in the room, but it's spacious enough for 2–3 days' worth of luggage. It was also quiet at night. They provide many free amenities in the room, such as sandals for areas outside the tatami(green in the room photoes) space, a pair of socks, tea bags, a bottle of water, a toothbrush, and more. If you go out at night, note that the entrance door closes at 11 p.m., but you can still enter by tapping your room key on the reader next to the door. However, there is no front desk staff available late at night. I actually wanted to ask about a machine in the room (maybe an air purifier or humidifier) around 11 p.m., and tried calling the front desk, but no one answered. I hope they consider having at least one night staff member available. That was the only point I thought could be improved. As I didn’t add the (vegetarian) breakfast option, I bought some food near Ebisucho Station and kept it in the fridge in my room. There are many restaurants, convenience stores, and delis that stay open late, so you won’t have any trouble finding food. After checking out in the morning, I left my luggage at the hotel and walked to a café about 10 minutes away. I planned to explore the area afterward. I expected cooler weather because it was cloudy, so I wore a long-sleeved shirt, but it got warmer than expected. I decided to go back to the hotel to change clothes. The front desk staff was very kind and showed me to a large restroom where I could take off my shoes and put stuffs— very helpful! Overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends when they visit Osaka.

Room was small but having a washing machine was great. BUT the cleanliness of the place is a big fail. It looked nice and clean… but we found piece of a fake eyelash on the bed (obviously none of us use fake lashes) from a previous guest?! …. And WORSE, a couple of days later when we entered the room we saw a huge cockroach on the carpet. As we got closer to check if it was indeed a cockroach it scuttled under the bed! After complaining to the hotel, they said they did not have any spare rooms to move us to! They offered to spray insecticide in the room but no way I’m sleeping in a room filled with insecticide and a cockroach. The manager refused to come out and see us and made the poor receptionist lady come and offer to clean the room for us (this was at 9+pm) but she changed her mind when I said I would have to see her actually capture the cockroach and remove it. After wasting at least half an hour of our time, they finally managed to “find” us another room to move to. No upgrade or anything. Same room but offered us free breakfast the next morning. The service was polite and nice (except from the hiding manager), but no I would not stay here again. There was also too many stairs to/from the train station to manage with luggage.

Right above JR Osaka Station, the location is incredibly convenient. All rooms are on higher floors and offer great views. There are several upscale restaurants on the 19th floor, and the hotel even provided discount coupons. Downstairs, you have Hankyu Department Store, Hanshin Department Store, Daimaru Umeda, and Isetan – perfect for shopping and dining.

What we found especially charming was that all the amenities were displayed in the lobby and were free for guests to take. They had everything you could possibly need—even face masks, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere felt more like a modern student accommodation than a traditional hotel, which we really enjoyed. The staff were friendly, the rooftop bar was fantastic, and bike rentals were available. They also had a cafeteria-style common area with a coffee machine, microwaves, and water dispensers, making it the perfect place to enjoy food from the convenience store. Overall, it was a 10/10 stay, and we'd happily stay here again.

Disappointing hospitality and poor organization, despite decent facilities There are three major downsides to my stay at this hotel. First and foremost, the check-in process was poorly managed. While having guests wait until 3:00 PM to check in is highly understandable, the complete lack of queue management is unacceptable. I went to the counter at around 2:55 PM to get myself ready for the check in, but the staff instructed me to go back to the waiting area and wait. However, right at 3:00 PM, newly arrived guests immediately formed a line at the counter. Those of us who had been waiting patiently in the seating area had to rush over to secure a spot. Everyone was scrambling to get into line as if we were asking for a free stay(Pic.1). The hotel showed a blatant lack of care for its guests. To make matters worse, guests are required to use a self-check-in system, which feels like shifting the operational burden from the staff onto the guests. This experience clearly reflects that the hotel prioritizes its own convenience over the comfort of its guests—a concerning approach for any hospitality business. The second major issue is the Wi-Fi. The internet speed was incredibly low to the point of being completely unusable(Pic.). If you rely heavily on hotel Wi-Fi for work or travel planning, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. The third point, though less severe, is the location. The hotel is situated a bit far from the subway, sitting almost exactly halfway between two stations. Regardless of which station you use, you will have to walk an equal distance of about 500 meters from either Hommachi Station (Red Line) or Sakaisuji-Hommachi Station (Green Line). While this is not entirely the hotel's fault, it is worth noting for future guests. To be fair, I would like to highlight some positive aspects. The hotel facilities are decent. They provide complimentary coffee and thoughtful amenities such as utensils and chopsticks for guests to use. Ultimately, I believe a hospitality business should always prioritize customer service and guest satisfaction over its own convenience, even if turning a profit is the ultimate goal. Unfortunately, my experience here made me feel like the guests are not a priority. Perhaps I was just unlucky, as I had read the reviews thoroughly before booking and saw no mention of these issues. I am sharing this experience simply to help others make an informed decision.

Superb! The location is unbeatable, very close to Shinsaibashi, and the station is within walking distance. There's a convenience store right downstairs. The service is very thoughtful. They provide free daily necessities, and both the toiletries and complimentary samples are from DHC. Upon check-in, they even gave us two fish soups – yes, fish soup, the kind you steep like a tea bag. The hotel cleans every three days, so if you're planning a longer stay, you might want to keep that in mind. Almost every floor has a washing machine and an ice maker, and I absolutely loved the ice maker. The hotel offers a luggage scale and a vacuum compression bag vending machine. I didn't need them, but I think it's a very thoughtful touch. The environment is quite good, especially compared to other hotels near Shinsaibashi. The room size is decent, not super large of course, but for this location, it's excellent. The only minor drawback is that the room door isn't soundproof, so you can hear sounds from the hallway clearly. However, everyone was generally quiet, so it wasn't an issue for me.

I booked a stay at Holiday Inn Osaka Namba through Trip.com, expecting the reliable standards and quality associated with the Holiday Inn brand. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing and fell far below expectations given the price paid. Persistent Cigarette Smoke Odor: There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke inside the room throughout the stay, especially at night. As it is a central air conditioning/ventilation system, the smoke odor likely spread through the ducts/vents, which was terrible for health and comfort. Run-down & Damaged Furniture: The furniture in the room was badly worn out, scuffed, and chipped around the desk and cabinet edges. Poor Bed & Bedding Quality: The mattress sagged significantly when lying down, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Furthermore, the duvet/cover was torn and separated, which is completely unacceptable for hygiene standards. Unjustified Price: Considering the high room rate, the condition of the room felt like an old, neglected budget hotel rather than an international brand. I am sharing photos as evidence. I hope the hotel management takes immediate action regarding their ventilation system, room maintenance, and bedding. I would not recommend staying here until proper refurbishments are made.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! Turn left when you step out, and you're surrounded by high-end brands like LV and Chanel. Shinsaibashi is straight ahead, and Dotonbori is to your right. A special shout-out to the front desk girl who let me check in half an hour early. And the breakfast was incredibly rich and varied!

Right next to the busiest tourist area in Osaka and with access to large number of facilities., Spaworld is surely a top choice to stay. But actually, the day ticket only costs 1500 yen and overnight staying fee is 1300 yen, which means you don't really need to stay in the hotel to use everything and stay for a night, kind of like a SPA net cafe. The plus for using the hotel is that you allow yourself to enter anytime you want.
