SunSweet House

Very Good

We had a mixed but memorable stay here. The vibes and decor are lovely, and the restaurant view is truly breathtaking—it’s easily the highlight of the property. Having breakfast and dinner overlooking the mountains was a beautiful experience. However, there are a few things to keep in mind: • The Room: Our room was very small and the layout had some design choices that felt like a falling hazard (tripping risks). • Location: The property is very remote. For foreign tourists, it is quite inconvenient to navigate because the hotel does not offer any shuttle or tour services to help guests explore the area. • Duration: The food is decent, but because of the size of the rooms and the remote nature, we felt one night was more than enough to enjoy the view and moving on.

Good location and service but too many students around . Not sure if co-incident that all my stay had been with students or trainers or teachers…

Applause In The Mountain

The property is located off the Alishan highway and nestled within a tea plantation near Fushan. It is not anywhere near any amenities, nearest one is at Shizuo about 10+km away. Rooms are very clean and well kept, you can expect breathtaking views if you have a room with a balcony on the top floor, lower floors will have little or no view into the mountains. The area around the property is mainly tea plantations and farms, good for a short afternoon’s exploration before dinner.

A good place to stay if you would like to experience staying in 台湾名宿. It provides food and premium Taiwan tea during the stay. For tea lover, this place sells premium tea at affordable price (love their natural alishan oolong tea).

Clean and tidy room and common area. The bosses are pretty nice. They are quite helpful and sincere in arranging any support to us. This is the second time I am stationing here for my Alishan holidays with friends and family.

This guesthouse was a pleasant surprise on my trip to Alishan. I booked it on Ctrip the morning before leaving Kaohsiung because it said it had just opened in 2026, and importantly, it was about an hour's drive from the Alishan Visitor Center. If the weather was good the next morning, I could take the mini-train to see the sunrise over Jade Mountain. Unfortunately, it rained all day. Google Maps gave me the wrong route, leading me to a dead end in a remote village, almost impossible to turn around. After contacting the owner, I waited at a gas station, where the hostess personally picked me up. Upon arriving at the guesthouse, I sensed the owner must be an artist. Simple yet sophisticated, it was perfectly suited to the environment. Since I was the only guest, I enjoyed special treatment that night. The Wi-Fi was down, but the hostess managed to borrow one from a neighbor for me. The next morning, she specially prepared wide noodles soup with Taiwanese side dishes and two poached eggs for breakfast, which I finished completely, even the broth. Highly recommended for those planning a road trip (free parking).

It's a pretty nostalgic hotel and a nice lovely place to visit. Most of its counter staff were quite helpful, esp we appreciate the young man with specs very patient when we asked questions (although not the other girl next to him who is rather blunt) Overall, we stayed 2 nights in 2 different rooms, one with a little wooden bath tub, which is cute! Their bento meal is a must try!🫰Hope the price is maintained for visiting folks to try them. Will recommend staying if the price is favourable.

Great location and lovely staff, but underwhelming for the price. The location is excellent, and the staff are genuinely kind and welcoming. That said, for the price, I expected more. The room felt very basic—almost clinical—with just two bags of tea and a couple of IKEA-style cups. No extra touches or decorative effort. Breakfast was disappointing as well; everything was already cold, and the selection was minimal. The day before, we stayed somewhere for half the price and had a breakfast that was twice as good. Nothing was bad per se, but overall it didn’t feel like good value, and we likely won’t book again.
