Luxury Hotels in Berlin

"Unfortunately, the pool was closed and the sauna was required to login and the sauna area was able to use just 1 hour. The opening hours of the sauna from 14:00 to 20:00 on weekends are absolutely unacceptable for such a luxury hotel. We were very angry about it. When booking we have not received any information about the time in the spa is so regulated and it is completely closed in the pool area. At the reception, we received information that the pool was closed due to energy saving measures and also lacked staff. We believe that then the overnight prices must be adjusted accordingly if a significant part of the services cannot be provided. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy our stay as we intended!"

"After really looking forward to staying at this place, I was a bit disappointed. It is clear they lack in maintenance staff and also some housekeeping. Though the facade of the hotel looks beautiful and staff is really friendly, the rooms just gave me 'the ick'. After checking in and being sent to a one person room (I booked a double room), so it was a messy start. They apologised and offered to bump me up a category, which was really nice! When I came in the new room, I noticed some questionable spots in the carpeting. Like the kind where you do not want to guess what it may be. As it was 2 am by that time, I went to sleep and showed pictures of the room the next day. I was offered to change the room. I did later that night after being out with my friends. When I woke up the next morning, I wanted to take a shower. The showerhead was filthy however. That led me to do another check of the room, finding similar issues as before. I called staff to have the shower issue fixed, which they did. It was actually exchanged for a new one. At checkout the next day when asked about my stay, I said I wasn't impressed. Then I got told I should have told them so I could have changed rooms... I was too exasperated to explain that switching rooms 2 times for a three night stay was already annoying enough. I was also told to come back in a year as 'maybe I will be lucky and get a refurbished room then'. Which was a weird joke to make. Other than that, great hotel, they have amenities and all you could want and the staff was really friendly!"

"Good location, large rooms. We have been to this hotel for many years, but unfortunately, this year, starting with the reception day, the smell of fried fish is terrible, like a cheap eatery. All the furniture in the room is worn out, the bed creaks a lot. For 5 stars - you need to ask for a dental kit at the reception, water-compliment put 1 small bottle for 2 people."

"The hotel facilities are good, but I'm quite dissatisfied with one thing. Our flight landed at 10:55 PM, so we expected to check in past midnight. Fearing the hotel wouldn't hold our rooms (I'd heard stories of German hotels not holding rooms past midnight), I specifically made an international call from Shanghai to the front desk. I explained the situation and asked them to hold our rooms. They confirmed they understood and said someone would be there to check us in after midnight. Still feeling uneasy, I contacted Ctrip customer service and asked them to follow up with the hotel. Ctrip later confirmed they had arranged a pre-check-in for us. I thought we had double assurance. However, when we arrived after midnight, the front desk told us they only had one room available, even though I had booked two rooms for two nights. They suggested we stay at a nearby hotel for the first night and then move here on the second day. I had already looked at that hotel, and the environment was significantly worse. Plus, as a family of three staying for two nights, I didn't want the hassle of checking out and checking back in the next day. I firmly refused. There were other Asian guests checking in after us, so it was impossible that there were no rooms at all. Eventually, they gave us a room at the very end of the hallway. German hotel service can be so unreliable! I'm angry."

"Location & Transportation (Almost Perfect): Situated in the heart of Potsdamer Platz, with excellent transport links right on its doorstep. Within walking distance to attractions like the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Philharmonic. The surrounding area also feels very safe."

"Very smart hotel in an amazing location making the whole of Berlin easily accessible by U-Bahn or indeed on foot. Public areas including the lobby are furnished to very high standard. Facilities including the well appointed gym and large thermal suite were very good, especially for a city hotel. For me the only drawbacks were the service levels , there was no greeting when you arrived back despite their often being a doorman around reception , breakfast although in its offering was good was a rather chaotic affair you have to find your own table and then get your own hot drinks which resulted in long lines at the coffee machines , other properties of this standard don’t usually operate in this way. Overall a good option and would definitely stay again however."

"The room was very clean. The doorman was helpful and took out the trash, which was a nice touch. The front desk staff, cleaning crew, and customer service were all great. The only thing is they require a 200 euro deposit, which is refunded 7 to 14 business days after check-out, with the city tax deducted from it. I hope my deposit is returned promptly, thank you."

"Let's start with the positives: The location is excellent, right next to the U2 subway station and very close to the U6. If you have the Berlin WelcomeCard, getting around by subway and bus is super convenient and saves you a lot of walking. There's a Rewe supermarket across the street with a great selection of food, and their salad bar and hot food counter are both excellent. Now for the negatives: The staff were arrogant and rude. I waited in line to check in for almost 20 minutes when a white man just walked up and stood next to the queue, not bothering to line up. After the person in front of me finished, I walked up to the front desk with him. He said the balding male staff member at the desk had called him over. I told the male receptionist that everyone was queuing and should be served in order, but he insisted he had called that specific white man. At this point, another front desk was free, so I didn't argue and moved to that one. This is where it got even more interesting. When I tried to pay the deposit in cash, the female receptionist said they don't accept cash. Isn't it illegal in any country to refuse legal tender? And who says everyone has a credit card? I didn't want any trouble, so I pulled out my credit card, but for some reason, it wouldn't go through. Finally, this female receptionist said her colleague could accept cash, and indeed, the colleague came over and took the money. But if I hadn't asked, they wouldn't have even given me a receipt. For a hotel costing over 2,000 euros a night, they don't provide bottled water unless you're a Hilton Silver member or higher. The coffee is also terrible instant coffee, the worst among the four hotels I stayed at on this Europe trip. The facilities are old but reasonably well-maintained. In short, besides the location, there are no redeeming qualities."

"This was a good hotel for our trip to Berlin. Its very close to the Potsdamer Platz station which has multiple connections via train and subway. Its one stop earlier than the Berlin Hbf on the train station from the airport. There are some good restaurants nearby including two Indian and Vapiano, an Italian chain - this branch has pizzas. We got a two double bed room. The room was clean, and the facilities felt new. Bed was slightly harder than I prefer, but acceptablle. Pillows had no smell. There was an ice machine on the 4th and 6th floors. Gym was acceptable -- its in the basement and is reached by a separate elevator."

"Wonderful hotel in every aspect. Very clean and fully functioning room with touch pad light controls, Sky Premier League on the TV and a free minibar that is restocked daily! Quiet location with public transport links to areas of interest easily accessible. Lovely little square around the corner with nice restaurants and an Aldi. Would have happily paid double which alone speaks to the value of the place. Thoroughly recommended."
