New Hotels in Kyoto

"The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Gojo Karasuma Station, and then about a 10-minute walk to Daimaru department store where there are tons of shops and restaurants. The hotel is new and very clean. Although it's on the smaller side, it was perfect for one person! The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and patient during check-in. All the other staff members I encountered were also very friendly and always greeted me with a smile. Excellent service overall!"

"The hotel is absolutely beautiful, especially the little details – the tableware, the flowers in the lobby, and even the scent! The room size is truly amazing, it's so spacious! We could finally breathe normally and move around comfortably. The bed and pillows are fantastic too, with two options: one with 'pebbles' and a regular one. The staff are polite and friendly! In the evening, there's complimentary champagne and ramen (instant noodles) in the lobby, which was delicious. All the necessary amenities were provided, including slippers, a hairdryer, and so on! My only minor issue was that our room was on the first floor, and you could say there's no real window (it's high up and covered). Since we were tired from our journey, we took a nap during the day and could hear conversations and music from the lobby. The music was calm, so it wasn't too disruptive, unlike the conversations. This wasn't a problem at night, as the 'kitchen' area closes, no one is around, and the music is turned off. I 100% recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again if we're in Kyoto! It's very comfortable, has an excellent location on a quiet street, and is still close to the subway!"

"The room felt a little small, but the bed was perfectly sized, and the room was very clean. For this price for two people, I think it's the best value hotel in the Kawaramachi-Gojo area. When I went to bed, I was thirsty, but there were no vending machines between the front desk and the elevator, so I endured it. However, when I checked out, I noticed there was a self-service kitchen with a cold water dispenser on the basement floor. For someone like me who isn't very tech-savvy, it would have been even better if there was information about this in the room."

"We checked in late, but the staff waited for us until we arrived before leaving, which we really appreciated. It was super convenient having Chinese-speaking staff. The hotel's location is quite convenient, a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle. The environment is clean and simple. Our room had a separate wet and dry area, so there's nothing to complain about. Plus, the soundproofing is pretty good, so we slept soundly. The price is also very reasonable for Kyoto. We drove there, and there's a 24-hour parking lot in the alley behind for 1600 yen."

"The location is great, very close to Shijo Station, making it easy to get to attractions like Arashiyama. There are also many newly opened hair salons and several convenience stores nearby. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied! A special shout-out to the young lady who spoke Chinese; she was very smooth in explaining the room and the check-out process, and proactively refilled the coffee machine's beans and water. It was truly a stroke of luck for us, not knowing Japanese, to meet her! The hotel is new and very clean, and the hand soap is particularly good! Highly recommended~"

"Location of the hotel is pretty convenient, with a 7/11 just right downstairs. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood but still walkable to Nishiki market with all the shopping street and to the nearest bus stop to travel out. Front office staff is friendly and helpful! We had a minor issue with cleanliness of the room, particularly the bed. As it was late at night, housekeeping wasn’t available so FO assisted to change the sheets for us. If you wish to have daily room makeover service, you’ll have to put the card on your room door. Housekeeping was a little disappointing as the room wasn’t made over properly. However, for the price and location, i think it’s value for money. Room size wise is decent and having separate shower cubicle and toilet is convenient."

"📍Location: It has a 'quiet in the bustling city' vibe, nestled in a small alley off Karasuma Dori. It's very quiet, though the main entrance might be a bit tricky to find (you can navigate to the main branch of Takagi Coffee Shop, the hotel's front door is right opposite). It's about 300 meters from Karasuma Line Shijo Station Exit 6. Further afield, there are the Shijo Karasuma/Karasuma Matsubara bus stops, all within walking distance. 🏨Ambiance: The design is both quaint and a little charming. The lobby offers free coffee and tea. You can store your luggage for free on the day of check-in, and on the day of check-out, you can store it for free until 5 PM, after which a fee applies. 🚪Rooms: I booked two double rooms, but their sizes and layouts differed. We were given two rooms with different layouts: the couple stayed in a slightly larger room with a sealed window, while I, traveling alone, stayed in a slightly smaller room where I could open the window and enjoy the street view. The room was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable! The only minor drawbacks were a few small issues: (1) The mirror in my room faced the bed directly. If this bothers you, perhaps you can confirm with the front desk. (2) There were no tables in the rooms; you can ask the staff to borrow one. (3) The toothpaste in the dental kit was difficult to squeeze out; a small 3-gram tube barely lasted twice, and it wasn't replenished automatically after room cleaning, forcing me to ask the staff for more every night. Perhaps toiletries could be placed in the lobby for self-service? 💁♀️Service: Very nice! Most of the front desk staff seemed to be foreigners, and English communication was perfectly fine! On the first day, we arrived about 30 minutes early, and the staff helped us check in ahead of schedule. On the first night, I wanted to open the window for ventilation but couldn't close it, so I went downstairs to ask the staff for help. Additionally, the staff always smiled and greeted us whenever we entered or left the hotel. Before leaving, I asked for the names of the two staff members who had been consistently helpful, and I'd like to thank [Kyawt] and [Anjana] for their warm assistance over the past four days 🙏 (Please forgive any misspellings of names). In summary, I would still consider booking this hotel on my next visit to Kyoto. See you next time!
