Great
GGuest UserOverall, the stay itself was comfortable, and the room met expectations. The hotel's aesthetic is elegant and beautiful, and its location is convenient, surrounded by chinese restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was also good and enjoyable. However, the experience was unfortunately dampened by issues at the front desk, hygiene standards in the common areas, and soundproofing. We arrived around 10am and requested an early check-in, fully understanding that the standard check-in time is 2pm and that any earlier arrangement is subject to room availability and discretion. However, we were told by staff that early check-in would only be possible with an additional charge of RM160. This created an uncomfortable impression where it felt less like a matter of room availability and more like withholding an available room in order to impose extra charges. The tone suggests monetising convenience which we weren't particularly happy about.
After checked-in around 5pm. we noticed dirty plates on the floor left near the lift area. What was more concerning was that these plates were still there in the same spot the next morning when we checked out. This raised questions about cleanliness and hygiene, especially in shared spaces. In addition, the soundproofing could be improved. Noise from children crying near the lift was clearly audible, and due to the hotel's proximity to the airport, airplane noise could also be heard. This may be a concern for light sleepers or guests seeking a quieter stay.
While the room and overall stay were generally good, these experiences affected our impression.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel location is very nice, located in the town center and there is a mall opposite.
Need upgrade for the room, very old and run down. Those home appliances were aging and not clean. Can see some ants on the working desk as well.
GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club. The hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable, making it a good place to relax. The staff are friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I also appreciate the peaceful environment around the hotel. However, the swimming pool could use some upgrading and better maintenance to match the overall quality of the hotel. Despite that, I still had a good experience and would consider staying here again.
AalastairtingDue to located at seaside, things getting wear and tear faster and rooms kind of rundown but still in acceptable condition. Food wise ordered chicken wings but tasted like no seasoning at all And pizza is also under baked. These basic food definitely needs to improve.
TTaobaoweilaiCentrally located, very close to Times Square, perfect for an evening stroll. It's also near Mount Canada, offering stunning panoramic views, especially at sunset. Next door, there's a Nanyang coffee shop, great for meals and drinks.
FFrina TanCheck in time is after 3pm. we arrive after 3pm. the staff inform us tat we hav make booking last min (booking is make tru trip.com since October i remember) the room was not ready when we arrive that we hav to wait. tot we hav to wait. i Dunno how the staff check after tat hav room oledy. could hav offer us another room type if there is no room available instead of blaming yr guest about last min booking

GGuest UserLocation is very good. Beautiful scenery from the apartment. Very strange and rigid rules. I knew 1 person from apartment was entitled to have free breakfast a day. I was given 3 breakfast coupons for 3 day stay but when I tried to have 3 persons from my family to have breakfast together for the same day, the receptionist bluntly refused. The conditions of each apartment we stayed was different. My sister had a 3 bed room unit with full utilities including dinning table and yet there was no wash basin for cups and plates. The bathroom sinks were leaking.
JJennifer YentyThe unit where we stayed is clean, have a breathtaking full view of the sea. Miss Nisa is very helpful to inform me the unit that we supposed to stay according to my booking have problem with their air-conditioning. So she change it to another unit. We really enjoy staying at Bay Resort. We can brisk walk and sight seeing. There's a lot of Chinese restaurants nearby too. Its a great experience to us as this is our first time coming and staying in Miri. This place is recommended to travellers with families who loved beaches and love to listen to the sound of the waves.
WWwin88One can argue that the staff and service provided by the hotel are even more important than the facilities, and for many people is.
It is always expected that the Staff provides good service for the customers as hotels are a part of the hospitality industry, so personally, I think it is important to point out clearly about this matter. Make sure to include all the negative aspects of the service in your review, if any.
GGuest UserThis is my second time visit Pacific Orient. As expected, the is nice and clean. Check in and check out is fast and easy. I got my room facing the Bintang mall building and it was fantastic. Here, parking space is limited. So whoever wants to park their car, better come early or make early reservation. The morning breakfast was simple. Not much they can offer. After all, don't expected too much since room rates offered was less than 100 ringgit.
Definitely will stay here again if had a chance to visit Miri.
