Staying at Clarion Hotel The Pier in Sweden turned out to be one of those experiences where you feel at ease almost immediately. There’s a certain warmth to the place that makes it stand out from the moment you walk through the doors.
Friendly Staff Who Truly Welcome You
What I noticed right away was how genuinely friendly the staff were. Every time we entered or walked past the front desk, we were greeted with a smile or a kind word. It’s such a simple gesture, but it created this feeling of being looked after, as if we were more than just passing guests.
A Location That Balances Quiet and Convenience
The hotel’s setting struck the perfect balance—peaceful and quiet, yet still so easy to get into the city center. It felt like we had the best of both worlds: calm evenings by the water, and the city’s energy just a short ride away.
Beautiful Skyline and Water Views
From the hotel, the view stretched across the skyline and the water, and it was just lovely. Whether it was morning light reflecting off the buildings or the soft glow in the evenings, those views gave the place a special atmosphere that I won’t forget.
A Studio Room That Feels Like Home
Our studio room came with a small kitchenette, and I can’t stress enough how handy that was. For a longer stay, being able to cook a simple meal or make a late tea added such a homely touch. The room itself felt modern and cozy, just right for settling in without feeling cramped.
A Breakfast with Heart
Breakfast was always a cheerful way to start the day, not just because of the food but because of the people. The breakfast chef, a lovely lady with beautiful red hair, had the warmest presence. She greeted everyone with such kindness that it set the tone for the rest of the day.
Looking back, what made Clarion Hotel The Pier memorable wasn’t just the location or the facilities—it was the sense of care woven through the stay. Between the quiet setting, the beautiful views, the comfort of the room, and those daily warm greetings (especially at breakfast), the hotel managed to feel both professional and genuinely personal.

My stay at the Scandinavian Crown Hotel was a wonderful experience! The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to the central station, a godsend for travelers with luggage. Whether you're taking the train to the airport or visiting the city's main attractions, everything is easily within walking distance.
The lobby is designed in a minimalist Scandinavian style, spacious and bright, with a very chic social space. Our room, while not particularly large, was impeccably clean, and the bed was the perfect firmness, ensuring a good night's sleep. The windows were also well-insulated, so despite being near the station, it wasn't noisy at all.
If you're looking for a hotel that's conveniently located, offers great value, and is comfortable, the Scandinavian Crown Hotel is definitely a great choice!

Toilets are a bit small but its clean and have everything you need. The breakfast have a wide range of selections with hot and cold plates. Specially appreciate Susanne, Iren & Andita showing us useful informations in the area by patiently answering our questions and showing exceptional Standard of customer service. Will be staying in the same hotel if I'm travelling to Sweden again.

Very historic hotel. The building is beautiful inside and outside, with ulterior motives. There are many retro furniture and furnishings inside, and the atmosphere is great.
The interior of the room is fully equipped, and the wooden furniture used is also very antique, which matches the image of the hotel. Don't use a modern room card, but still use a copper key, which is very weighty in your hand.
The breakfast in the hotel is very rich. It is recommended to watch the meal provided before starting to eat. Breakfast recommended lettuce bagel salmon meat, very delicious. In addition, there is a 24-hour hot coffee, which is quite intimate. After going out, you can have a cup of hot coffee in the beautiful lobby to warm up.
The best thing is the location, just beside the central station, just across the road, the traffic is in all directions, the bus stop to the airport and the central station together, and you can reach the airport in half an hour.
If you come back to Gothenburg, you will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very good hotel, we booked a deluxe double room, the room is facing the street, very big and beautiful. The room rate includes breakfast and dinner and Fika cake in the afternoon. It is very cost-effective. The breakfast is very rich. The dinner is relatively simple. There is a meat dish (change every day) and a fixed salad, but the taste is good. Don't worry about eating every day. The location of the hotel is 6~ 8 minutes walk from the Central Railway Station. There are many cars at the tram station opposite the train station to go to various attractions. The bus station next to the train station can take the airport bus to the airport, which is more convenient to travel. There is a Coop next door to the hotel for easy purchasing daily necessities. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, helping us solve the shower use problem, and on the last day, we also helped pack breakfast in advance due to our early check-out. In short, it is highly recommended to live here.

ShinanziFrankly, I'd seriously recommend anyone reading this review to steer clear of this hotel for the time being. The hotel's location is good, right across from the city center train station, with many attractions and commercial facilities within walking distance. However, there's a massive transportation hub construction site directly downstairs. The traffic routes and facilities haven't been updated in navigation apps, making the road conditions absolutely chaotic – seriously, don't even attempt to navigate it.
Also, I have to complain about the room. I never expected it would be so small that it couldn't even fit a single table, which was extremely inconvenient.
Other aspects were quite good, especially the breakfast and service, which were impressive.

We arrived at 7:30 pm and were told we got a room “upgrade”. The room was small so we really wondered what the “original” room looked like. The bed had stains on the cover that was laid under the mattress
which didn’t look good. We went down to the lobby and found nobody present. We moved on to the restaurant, it was 8 pm. Half full and we were met with the wonderful advise that they were closed for service. This was Friday May 16th and the menu
board was still at the entrance door to the restaurant.
We went back to the reception and queried why the restaurant was not serving dinner at 8 pm on a Friday.
The receptionist looked dumbfounded and told us it usually serves dinner at least until 9 pm but she took no action to assist us except to say we could walk fir 15 minutes to the Aveny, a street with lots of restaurants but could not suggest any close by. We ended up going to, as it happened, a fantastic restaurant right around the corner called Le Pigalle on the top floor of, we guess, a competing hotel. Fabulous meal in a restaurant that knew how to treat their guests.
In short we have regretfully no positive things to say about the ProfilHotels Opera in Gothenburg.
Gothenburg was fantastic but when we return we will definitely not book at the Opera which is overpriced for the standard and service they offer. Total waste of money at this venue. Regretfully we did not bother to take any pictures of the place as it is nothing we wish to remember about it.

SweetPotatoBichonHKThe hotel is visible right from the train station, and it's also conveniently located near a tram stop. There's a large shopping mall nearby which is great for browsing. The hotel is very new, has a stylish design, and the bathtub was a pleasant surprise! The room is spacious, soundproof, and feels clean and hygienic. The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious!

NaomijadeLoved the location of this hotel as well as the downstairs communal areas. Also the size of the room was great.
Unfortunately the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and cheap so I barely slept a wink in my 3 nights there. I asked for an extra pillow as you only get one and that still didn’t help.
Staff were lovely when I did speak to them, but you can easily go by your whole stay without talking to someone which is a shame as you don’t get told any information.
There was also no fridge or safe in the rooms which I thought was pretty standard.
Food at the breakfast buffet was really good though. Great options for vegans/gluten free too.

Grace-zhouOn a business trip, it was very cold and it was a weekend. The hotel reception was very enthusiastic and helped us to move our luggage, especially the first floor small bar and the cake after 4 o'clock was very good and intimate. Breakfast is also very rich, will come again next time...
