Vienna Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"The location isn't great, and there was ongoing road construction. Taxis couldn't drop us off directly at the entrance, so we had to get out and walk across a cordoned-off area to reach the hotel. Also, adding breakfast was a bad deal; it definitely wasn't worth the price. You're better off walking ten minutes to a McDonald's outside."

"Booked this hotel for 2 nights in Vienna. Location wise, it's not the most convenient. It is not within walking distance to either the main train station or the city center. The closest metro station is about a 5-7 minutes walk. It is predominantly a residential area but there are some good and cheap eateries near the metro station. The hotel is part of a sports club (hence the name Sportshotel). There is a restaurant in the hotel which serves great food at reasonable price. The hotel also has a sauna which is free for guests of the hotel to use but I haven't tried it. The room itself is quite spacious with the usual amenities minus a kettle (so can't make coffee or tea in your room)! Not sure whether this is typical for all hotels but other hotels I've stayed in neighboring countries all have kettle. It is very clean with daily cleaning. It has a big window which gets quite a bit of sunlight and a safe to store valuables."

"One of the worst service experiences I have encountered, and certainly not comparable to the price paid. First, the receptionist was not friendly. While it is perfectly normal for guests to ask questions, especially during a multi-day stay, there was one receptionist who appeared visibly uncomfortable and impatient when I asked for assistance. This was noticeable through both tone and body language, and it made me hesitant to approach the front desk for further inquiries the following day. Second, unlike most hotels where housekeeping can be requested simply by placing a cleaning sign on the door, this hotel requires guests to inform the receptionist directly. Unfortunately, this information was never communicated. As a result, despite placing the sign, my room was not cleaned. Third, I attempted to upgrade to a larger room during my stay, as I had booked for seven nights, but this was not accommodated. Fourth, when I tried to contact the receptionist via the in-room telephone, it was not functioning. Fifth, in many hotels, guests are promptly informed if any belongings are left behind, even small items. In this case, no notification was provided at all. Lastly, the amenities were extremely limited and did not meet the expectations of a hotel in this price range. But the hotel’s design is quite good and unique, and the location is strategic."

"We came to Vienna for a few days and stayed at The Grand Ferdinand. It's a majestic and beautifully designed hotel. The breakfasts are superb, and the service is excellent; the staff helps with everything and everyone is smiling. There's a pool on the 8th floor with a wonderful view of the city. The hotel is located in the center of Vienna, which is very convenient. We were very happy with our choice. We thank the hotel for the quality service, but the sink next to the bed isn't very practical."

"The facilities are very comprehensive, including a swimming pool, gym, kitchenware, washing machine, and a sauna. There's a supermarket downstairs, and the Danube River is right next to it, making it very convenient. Checking in took a bit of a fuss. I didn't pay attention at first and wandered around the first floor without finding the reception desk. I looked in the elevator and realized it was on the fifth floor."
