Koh Chang Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"I booked a standard room with a sea view and was frankly very pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. The space and comfort of the room exceeded my expectations for this category. Highlights: • The setting: Absolutely magnificent and idyllic. The pool is truly lovely for relaxing. • The tranquility: Despite ongoing construction, it was barely noticeable. From my room, I couldn't even see it, and it didn't spoil my stay. • The service: A big thank you to all the staff who were helpful and welcoming from beginning to end. A few areas for improvement: • In-room amenities: There's no small table and chair inside the room. Although there's a private terrace, it overlooks the hotel walkways. I would have appreciated being able to have a snack in peace and privacy inside. • Breakfast: It's adequate, but nothing special. • Activities: A few more facilities or activities would be welcome. In short, it's a very good hotel that I recommend for the quality of the room and the view!"

"Pros: A good value-for-money hotel. While it doesn't have a beach, it boasts many beautiful coconut trees. The facilities are standard, which is understandable given the reasonable price. Cons: We booked a sea view room precisely because of their attractive coconut trees. A month in advance, we wrote to the hotel asking for a room on a higher floor if possible. However, upon check-in, they assigned us a corner room on the first floor, which had no sea view at all and was obstructed by the corridor and plants in front! When we discussed this with the front desk, they claimed that higher floor rooms were reserved for long-stay guests. I was absolutely fuming! Our 5-day stay isn't exactly short, and we paid the same price as everyone else, so there shouldn't be such preferential treatment. We strongly suspect the hotel didn't even read our message. Only after negotiating with the front desk were we able to switch to a second-floor room on the following day. This whole experience with the front desk significantly dampened our check-in experience. Finally, a special thanks to the Trip.com customer service for patiently helping us resolve the room issue throughout."

"I stayed here three years ago, and the price difference now is huge. It might be due to Thai New Year, making it more expensive, but I don't understand why the hotel doesn't provide toothpaste and toothbrushes. When I called the front desk, they told me to buy them myself at 7-Eleven! This really surprised me, as they used to provide them. Also, the toilet kept making noise, so I didn't sleep well at night. My room was on the second floor, and the chairs on the balcony had hollow bases underneath. If you're traveling with children, definitely request a room not on the second floor, otherwise, it's quite dangerous!"

"We have spent 6 nights in Santhiya Tree Koh Chang, even though it's rainy season, we still LOVE it there! Design: we stay at the Pool Suite Water View, almost whole building made by carved wood, traditional Thai design and lots of character, looks very beautiful & classic. Staffs: very friendly and excellent service Pools: 60m long pool at the breakfast restaurant with some seats facing the pool & peaceful mountain view. Another pool right in front of the beach & close to the villas. Both pools clean & big. Santhiya Tree use pa kao ma thai sarong as beach towel, love it! Food: delicious buffet breakfast & lots of variety. Food & drinks at the Chantara Restaurant is high quality & very yummy. The duo who sings at the restaurant are brilliant singers, you won't get bored with their performance. Room: spacious & clean, lots of electric plugs & even beach bag for use. They burn lemongrass/ citronella oil in the bathroom to keep mozzies away & room smells good. Massage at their spa: very good & reasonable price, sound of the waves makes the massage so relaxing, must try. Shuttle bus to main street: every 2 hrs they can drop you or pick up from main street as there resort is not at the road side. Not sure if it's because of low season, hope the shuttle service can be more frequent. Thank you everybody at Santhiya Tree Koh Chang for the great service and smiles. Will definitely come back for another holiday and highly recommend if you're looking for a fantastic place to stay! This beautiful place takes your stress away :) P.S. there's a small part of the road right outside the resort leading to the entrance is unsealed with lots of potholes, pretty bumpy for cars and their shuttle bus, suggest Santhiya Tree do something with it."

"I really liked the pool area, the water temperature was great. The ladies offer an affordable and high-quality massage for 300 baht. Fresh fruit is available at breakfast, but the coffee isn't very good. The room itself is unremarkable. The soundproofing is terrible. The beach right by the hotel is the least attractive on this stretch. A lot of debris washes ashore, and it's not cleaned up very well. If you walk a bit further down the coast, you'll find much nicer and more idyllic spots."

"It’s a very large hotel with spacious rooms. The staff provide excellent service, and the breakfast is plentiful, varied, and delicious. The location is great and not too crowded. In the morning, there was a Chinese tour group in the restaurant, but the staff refilled the food very quickly. The only downside is that some bathrooms have old or broken fixtures."

"Very beautiful place built right into the cliffside. We got the room with a private pool! Has is own beach and restaurant. The breakfast buffet was amazing and staff were so friendly. So relaxing and would go back if I ever come back to Thailand 😊"

"One of the best hotels on the island. The service is simply top-notch. The reception staff speaks Russian, which makes it easy to answer any questions. The rooms have been completely renovated—everything is clean and tidy. Check-in is strictly at the time you booked, but there are exceptions if you ask nicely. The grounds feature a clean pool with a bar, which is also important. The beach is clean and cozy (they clean it every morning while everyone is asleep), and you can hide under the trees if you can. Overall, I was very pleased."

"Amazing hotel with friendly staff and beautiful territory! My son and I stayed here for 6 days and everything was wonderful — spacious clean rooms, delicious coffee in the room every day, and a huge luxurious pool (there are two more on the property, but this one was more than enough for us). The breakfasts were very tasty and diverse! I especially want to thank your staff members Sa and Hand — without them, our vacation would have been much less fun! They are absolute superheroes: every day they organized different activities and played with my son Sasha, even when it wasn’t part of their responsibilities. We had beach football, Thai boxing, an art workshop, and more. Sa and Hand, thank you for your kindness and positivity — I wish you all the best! It was also such a lovely surprise to receive birthday wishes from the whole team, even though I wasn’t expecting it. The beach and sunsets are stunning — honestly, there’s no such thing as a “low season” here. Thailand is beautiful at any time of year! I came prepared for constant rain and no sun, thinking I’d just enjoy some solitude without the crowds — but in reality, we had sunshine and great weather every single day. Thank you so much!
