"I've visited the Business Inn several times now, and I keep coming back due to the friendly customer service, the comprehensive breakfast buffet, the competitive pricing and its convenient location to where I want to be in downtown Ottawa. The rooms are older and maybe not as fancy or contemporary as a Four Seasons or Hilton property, but if you're looking for a family friendly and safe budget-minded place that does its best to provide a great experience, then this is the one."

"For my first time staying overnight at Ottawa, I booked a hotel room for one night at Lord Elgin. Upon arriving early at the hotel, I was provided with a room before my check-in time - which was very appreciated. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. However, little did we know, our room on the 7th floor was connected to another room with adjoining doors. We were unable to sleep through the night as the room had little to no sound isolation from the connecting room, in which a baby was crying all night. I am baffled as to how we were able to hear every single noise: coughing and sneezing from the parents in the other room, their toilet flushing and the baby crying throughout the entire night. We were unable to sleep comfortably and woke up with splitting headaches. I booked this hotel to be the closest possible to the Rideau Canal Skateway, but I will have to find another hotel the next time."

"This is a great hotel, conveniently located right by Parliament Hill, which is the main attraction in Ottawa along with its surroundings. So, after checking in, you can easily explore the area on foot. Plus, it's very close to Chinatown, making dining options readily available. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-appointed with standard amenities. The only drawback is that parking comes with a fee."

"Booked this hotel last minute as we had to stay one extra night in the city and it was really amazing! This is a hotel I would definitely go back! The lady at the counter was extremely nice and she spoke Portuguese! She was really happy to be able to speak with us in Portuguese and we were happy she spoke Portuguese! The hotel location is really good, downtown near the parliament, and the room was amazing! Really big and spacious studio with a kitchen and a living room. Bed was really comfortable but the sofa bed was not that good (as in all hotels). Toilet was big and had all the amenities. Breakfast was good and had eggs, bacon, fruits, cereals, fresh waffles, chia pudding, bread, … They have private parking at an extra fee but the entrance is really narrow. There’s also street parking around at a fee."

"1. The breakfast options were very limited. A greater variety would significantly improve the experience. 2. One of the male reception staff members was quite rude. Staff should be polite, courteous, and welcoming—a simple smile can go a long way in creating a positive atmosphere. 3. It was disappointing to see that the welcome packet was only given to selected guests during check-in. This inconsistent treatment does not reflect well on guest service. 4. The location was not ideal, and the area outside the hotel felt unsafe, especially at night. 5. On a positive note, the room itself was very good—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. 6. The room servicing staff was very friendly"

"Room is in good size even for a family. There 5-6 lifts but there are always long queues for lifts there. The lifts do not seem to serve their purpose well. In the morning, the hotel controls all lifts. You can’t press Down Button for a life to come down to check out or to the car park. You have to wait till someone who comes out to where you are on a lift way up or down. Never found hotel lifts operating so weirdly 😳 After checking out, I tried to take the stairs case to go down to the car park, I couldn’t do that because a room key was required to access the staircase😖 The electric door lock for our room had been beeping most of the time. Informed hotel to fix it."

"Room is spacious and clean! Very convenient location with parliament hill, byward market and a lot of dining spots nearby. Kitchen is fully equipped and well maintained. We will definitely come back in our next visit."

"Generally speaking, the water pressure of the shower in the bath is not large, and it is uncomfortable to wash! If the price can be under a thousand dollars, it can still account for a high cost performance. The location is not bad, very close to the University of Ottawa, not far from a few Chinese restaurants (you can find it on the map) The lobby is very small, and the parking garage is small and expensive 🥲 But Ctrip is good because they don't have I updated the booking information and wrote the paid parking as free, so in order to apologize, I paid the full parking fee for two days, Ctrip, the role model in the China travel app!"

"Everything was good. Loved the view from the balcony. The only thing was the staff when we came for check in at night. The employee was not rude or misbehaving but he/she was explaining everything so fast on one sentance that I could not say anything. Overall I will recommend the place."

"Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon."
