Cheap Hotels in Ottawa

"The location has some certain distance to subway stations, but it only matters if you arrive to or depart from the hotel using transit, as you might need to walk for around 10 minutes in order to get to the hotel. However, most of the attractions (Parliament, ByWard market) are within walkable distance (less than 20 minutes) so it is not a problem for me. The room is extremely spacious with even a kitchen and a printer for this price point, and the room is clean. However, the shower blinds have some gaps which seeps water to the floor wet while showering… The staff is really nice and friendly, and the free breakfast that comes with the room is good enough (I like the sausage and the egg bites). The laundry is 24/7 and comes with complimentary laundry sheets and powder, which is a big plus. However, do note that there is a certain chance that you’ll be assigned to a first floor room, which is essentially the ground floor… One of the entrance (the one next to the parking lot) for ground floor rooms can look a little bit sketchy at night. Since my room is also next to Elgin street where people go to the pubs at night, it can get a little bit noisy, but the bed is far away from the window so it sort of cancelled the disadvantage. It would be better if the front desk asked if a ground floor room was OK before giving the room cards."

"Looks small from the outside, but the facilities inside are great! Breakfast includes meat, eggs, and milk, and you can even get fresh waffles made to order. The room is quite spacious too. The best part is there are three types of coffee to choose from, and two bottles of mineral water are provided. The lobby also offers 24-hour hot water. P.S. You still need to bring your own toothbrush, towel, and slippers. Their shower gel and shampoo are pretty standard."

"The hostel is located in the downtown area, which is very convenient for traveling. They also offer activities such as Historical Jail Tour, walking to bars with other travellers (I cannot remember what they call it), and cookies decoration (during the Christmas season). Friendly and helpful staff. Affordable price."

"We have stayed at Les Suites multiple times as a family, and we could not ask for a better experience every time. From the cleanliness of the rooms, kindness of the staff, amenities and location to restaurants and activities, it just ticks all of our boxes. Consistency is key :)"

"Cleanliness needs to be improved. Maybe it’s just our room but there was big stains on the chair. Otherwise cleanliness is fine. Breakfast was excellent; great price for value. Checkin smooth but the guy at the counter was expressionless, a simple hello or smile could go far. Checkout the next day, the girl was in much better mood. To fellow travelers with small kid: mall playground located 5 minutes walk from the hotel, location is excellent for young families."

"The hotel is new and the facilities are decent. The room even had a shower cap. Breakfast was just okay, but it's great value for money. We stayed with our one-year-old, and it was convenient and comfortable for three adults and one child in a single room. It's not far from the city center, and parking is pretty easy. The only issue is that there's a homeless shelter nearby, so it felt a bit unsafe for solo travelers. It's best not to wander around alone outside, and you'll be fine."

"The room was compact but cleverly designed, featuring a table, chairs, a balcony, and a dedicated pantry area with a microwave and an electric kettle. The kettle is a huge plus for Asians, as I've never seen one in any other North American hotel. They also provide complimentary iced water in the fridge, which is great because at other hotels, we always bring our own bottled water since you can't be sure about the tap water quality everywhere. The best part, though, was their breakfast, which offered Canadian ham. After days of American bacon, I was pleasantly surprised by how fragrant and delicious the Canadian ham was!"

"The room is spacious, tidy and clean with sufficient facilities. I really appreciate the housekeeping. The housekeeper is considerate and helpful. The breakfast is included and the variety is sufficient. I think this hotel provides good value for money with such service and breakfast at reasonable prices."

"The room was a bit small, and the counter felt like something from an economy hotel. Perhaps as an online platform guest, I was assigned a lower floor room where a huge exhaust fan on the outdoor platform vibrated and made noise clearly audible inside. I got back to the hotel late at night, and my child fell asleep immediately, so I didn't want to complain in the middle of the night. I finally fell asleep after two hours, a really terrible stay. However, the cleaning lady in the morning was excellent; I left my wallet on the table, and she immediately took it to the front desk. Thumbs up for her!"

"Spacious room with fridge and microwave inside room, with ice machine for quick chill on soft drinks. Facilities are new and in great condition. Good location is another great point for easy access to outlet mall in 15 minutes on road, and just 30 minutes on driving for Ottawa."
