"Spacious room with balcony, very clean, comfy bed, good water pressure, excellent breakfast especially the teh tarik, OMG!Will definitely come again… The pool is also huge…Planning for longer stay next time.. Its actually walking distance to jonker street but to walk at night the route seems unsafe.."

"It’s a spontaneous trip that we booked the room before we check google reviews. Yet we are aware of the different way of check in. Apparently it’s under awanjiwa management of the *air-bnb* style of room which is the same hotel as The pines. First, If there is choice i may direct book frm the pines , we tried once under the shore & the swiss garden same thing yet also unforgettable trip 😅 I would say hotel charge the prices will assure give the best services maybe . We consider lucky that awanjiwa person in charge is nice and responsible. We got some hicups on the check in and got settle to change another room as u can see frm photos the disaster of the first room we got i told the PIC only the bed and the sink is clean others is all dusty 😵💫 We got changed to another better condition rooms also with some stain on the table n cupboard so i had to clean myself before place anything in. Its not that bad tho, but i would say im not an airbnb guest . 😅 and its feel really weird when u stay in hotel but its like so weird u cant park in the same unit and u just dont feel u are away for a trip as the place u check in like ur neighbor home kind of feel ."

"I was a bit worried after reading some reviews, but after checking in, I found the location to be absolutely fantastic. We could walk to all the major attractions, and popular restaurants were also nearby. Getting to the central station only took about 20 minutes by car. Our room's balcony was in the middle of the building, more like a drying area, but it met our need for quiet. The staff were all very enthusiastic, and the manager could speak Chinese. The shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable. When taking a Grab, we could be dropped off at the main entrance, but for pickups, we had to set the location to the back entrance and walk through the restaurant. What I wasn't happy about was that the towels were a bit discolored, as mentioned in other reviews, and the room only provided reusable plastic slippers. It would be great if these could be improved."

"Overall, my stay was quite disappointing due to multiple issues with the facilities and management, although there are a few positive aspects worth mentioning. 1. The toilet flushing system is very weak and unable to properly flush waste. There is also no exhaust fan, causing unpleasant odors to linger after use. 2. The shower area lacks proper shelving for toiletries, which is inconvenient, especially for female guests. Although the space is not small, the towel rack is installed above the toilet, which is both unhygienic and impractical. 3. The unit is advertised as a two-bedroom space that can accommodate up to five people, which reasonably creates the expectation of having two bathrooms. However, the upstairs bathroom is locked and used as a storage room. This becomes highly inconvenient, as guests have to wait excessively long to use a single bathroom. 4. The doorbell issue that was reported earlier was never resolved. 5. The air conditioner remote control was initially not working, but a replacement was only provided later at night. 6. Only two out of four elevators were functioning. During checkout time, it became extremely difficult to get an elevator. Once inside, it stopped at almost every floor due to high demand. It took my family and me nearly an hour just to get from the 22nd floor to the car park. There was also no proper ventilation or air conditioning inside the elevator, which made the situation very uncomfortable and almost suffocating. 7. There is only a mirror in the bathroom, which makes it very inconvenient for guests (especially women) to get ready or do makeup. On a positive note, the overall room cleanliness was acceptable, although the towels could be improved. The interior design is visually appealing at first glance. However, the layout is not practical. Watching TV from the sofa is uncomfortable as it is positioned at an awkward angle. To face the TV directly, everyone has to sit in a row on the stairs, which is quite inconvenient. Overall, while the design may initially attract guests, the functionality and basic comfort fall short of expectations."

"The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of Malacca's old town. When I checked in, the Malaysian lady at the front desk collected a 50 RM cash deposit from me (which another front desk staff member refunded when I checked out the next day). Additionally, she charged an extra 28 RM for some unknown fee (Ctrip showed an 8 RM world heritage fee was due). I stayed for two nights, and Ctrip deducted 475.47 RMB upon checkout. Room 512 faces west, offering an open view of St. Paul's Hill. The room didn't have a safe or slippers, but it did have a refrigerator, toothbrush, hairdryer, wardrobe, and hangers. The air conditioning was central and could be set to a very low temperature. Upon entering, I accidentally pressed the 'make up room' button next to the door. Later, after I had gone to bed, a staff member rang the doorbell to clean. They were very responsible; I had to get dressed and explain in person that I didn't need the service before they left."

"The hotel's design is absolutely stunning, no wonder it's won Michelin, IDA, and many other international space design awards. The staff are all incredibly gentle and always smiling. The bedding is exceptionally clean, and the best part is the high cost-performance ratio! It's also super convenient, just a 12-minute taxi ride to Jonker Street."

"Arrived by bus from Singapore, and the hotel is super close to the bus station. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and if you walk a bit further, there are two shopping malls. It's also quite near the old city wall ruins. The earliest check-in time is around 2:30 PM, which feels pretty inconvenient. On the bright side, there are plenty of seating areas in the lobby. The room itself is quite spacious, and the bathroom is clean. Overall, it's great value for money."

"Overall the hotel is quite good It located near the Jonker street and affordable price for tourists facilities is excellent but the shampoo given smells weird So I suggest to bring your own one Have some nearby restaurants and they provide free parking so it’s quite convenient also."

"Hotel room was well kept, almost faultless tho' its very dated and rough around the edges, but not dealbreaker. We love the shower area it was huge. Everything worked and stocked. Balcony nice views. Breakfast was good, looks like it shares w Swiss Garden hotel as well but variety overwhelming and loads of seating, moreover longest timing til 12pm great for late sleepers. The complex houses a shopping mall as well not fantastic but conveniences and alternative food choices avail itself. There's also a rooftop bar and viewing gallery as well, loads of eateries around the clock in the vicinity and a discounted boat ride for hotel guests. Parking seems like a pain on the 7/8 flr needs validating every exit, but other choices if one decides to pay on lower n ground valet. Overall, we'll return for the value. Attractions and Malls just drive or grab no issue, unless one wants to stay specific touristy area or want 5star hotel etc..."

"I had a fantastic stay! The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, close to everything. Highly recommended! Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and great service"
