"The room was comfortable and spacious, offering excellent value for money. All amenities worked well, including the bathtub, which added to the comfort. The only minor issue was that the room felt a bit warm because the air conditioning wasn't directly aimed at the bed, so an additional fan was needed for more coolness. Other than that, everything was fine and satisfactory."

Great
SSk kheeMy favorite hotel in Malacca! The design has an old-money feel, very artistic. The breakfast is special, with local Indian pancakes that taste great. The bathroom in the room has a bathtub, and my window overlooks a river. The parking lot behind the hotel is also very spacious. It offers great value for money. The front desk staff are very polite. They even offered a welcome drink and flower cookies that reminded me of my childhood. It truly brought me back to my younger days. I love this hotel so much and will definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserGreat location! It's super convenient to get to all the attractions. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, both inside and out. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful, always ready to answer questions and offer useful information. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance!

1. relatively new and in a central location
2. Simple breakfast provided
3. Good value for money
4. Staff are friendly and helpful
Negative
1. The Aircon in the room did not work well on our 2nd night. Not cold at all and there are mosquitoes in the room.
2. The bathroom slippers provided were so bad in quality that it would tear before you took the first step.

GGuest UserThe room condition completely exceeded my expectations. I was a bit worried when I saw it was a renovated old house, fearing small rooms and outdated facilities. Turns out, my worries were completely unnecessary! Both the room and facilities are very new, the service is excellent, and the breakfast is delicious. The location is also fantastic. Just like Melaka itself, this hotel was a big surprise on my Malaysia trip. If I get the chance to visit again, I'd love to stay here for a couple more days.

DDihaw DbaI had a minor accident in front of the hotel lobby—I hit the cement curb/bollard in front of the hotel, resulting in a slight scratch/damage to a floor tile (and this particular tile already had several previous damages from other people hitting it before).
Subsequently, an Indian staff member (identified as a supervisor by his colleague) came and took pictures of the damaged tile. The issues I have with his conduct are as follows:
He started chatting with a Chinese customer while pointing out the minor damage and simultaneously pointing towards my car, smiling and chuckling slightly as if mocking or being sarcastic.
Then, another Chinese man (possibly a customer or staff) approached, and he again showed the damaged tile, smiling and chuckling lightly while pointing at my car. My issue here is: there were also Malay customers present; why did he choose the Chinese customers to point out this issue to, but not the Malay customers?
He then approached me and said: ”You have hit and damaged this tile, and you need to know that I will report this to the hotel owner, and you should know that the owner of this hotel is a Chinese person, and I am certain you will have to pay for the damages.” What is the implication of saying, 'the owner of this hotel is a Chinese person'?
I asked why he needed to make a scene and involve other customers to talk about the incident while laughing lightly and smiling as if being condescending, and why this incident was being exaggerated when he himself was aware and had mentioned that customers frequently hit that cement curb.
Is it now my turn to be made to pay for the damage, after it has been hit multiple times by other customers previously?
Am I being made a scapegoat to settle the costs of previous incidents?
Where is the commitment to excellent Customer Service in terms of maintaining a customer's 'dignity' or 'reputation' (air muka) in front of other patrons?
He made a fuss as if I had brought down the whole building.
I am attaching photos of the tile damage and other pre-existing damages.

RRC8888Hotel is very conveniently located near makuta parade and 2 other malls, especially if you are going there by coach. There is a caring pharmacy just in front and many eatries around. Our 2 bedder family room was big and spacious but the carpets might need a wash and the room feels a but mouldy but we rented an air purifier that helped. Breakfast was average. Overall a good stay.

JJoseph_yjyThe environment is fantastic, right by the sea. This hotel was bought by the Sultan of Johor and reopened after 25 years. It's a resort-style hotel with a pool, and it's quite peaceful. Right outside is Portuguese Square, though it's a bit far from Jonker Street and Dutch Square. The occupancy rate isn't very high, so the breakfast service depends on that – either a full buffet or a set menu. The hotel's hygiene could be improved, and some details aren't quite up to par. Most facilities are provided, but they're all basic.

SSamiy TanThis was my second stay at the Asia Hotel Malacca, which was renovated in 2025. Surprisingly, the bathroom was leaking and water was flowing into the living room (see picture). I had to be very careful to avoid slipping 😬 The first time I stayed here, it was called the Straits Hotel & Suites. Overall, the three-night stay was quite good 😊 I would definitely stay here again. Hopefully, they won't assign me room 1611 again next time🤞

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite clean, I think its because it is quite new. Good to stay and sleep. Go to famous place of interest is about a 15 min grab ride only. Everytime you drive out of the hotel, need to pay $5, not sure why they implement this rule, other hotels I stay do not have such rule. Also, when my family and I were visiting one the facilities in the hotel, one of the function room, there were some people cleaning inside and they shouted at us with very loud & sudden voice so we didn't go in. They were cleaning the floor and I think they were afraid that we will step inside because the floor is clean but I feel that they should not have shouted. We are the hotel guest so if they do not want us to step into the function room, they could have said it nicely instead of shouting. My family and I were startled by the sudden shout. The front reception people were very friendly and professional though.
