Hotels in Yu Garden Area, Shanghai

This hotel is 8-9 years old, and the facilities are quite poor. There's absolutely no street view. I initially went to the Marriott Renaissance by mistake, which is around the same price and also has similar operating hours, but it's in a much higher building. If you're not in one of the street-facing rooms at the Mercure, you're looking right at the back of a residential complex. 😢 The late-night snack was just noodles and wontons from that day! And the breakfast the next morning 😂😂😂 was even worse... I arrived at 9:20 AM and most of the food was gone, and they weren't restocking it promptly. I observed that by 9:45 AM, there was hardly anything good left. If you want breakfast, you better go early! I came here based on Ctrip reviews, but honestly, it was just mediocre. I don't know why it has so many good reviews! The Marriott Renaissance, for a similar price, offers city night views (not of the Oriental Pearl Tower, though) and an indoor pool, and it's closer to Yu Garden. The two hotels are only about a 10-minute walk apart! Anyway, if there's a next time, I'll definitely choose the Marriott Renaissance. 😂😂😂 Oh, and the hairdryer in the hotel 😂😂😂 had a bad connection; I had to hold it to make it work. I also don't know if it was just my imagination, but when I first entered the bathroom, there was a slight smell of urine... and my nose is particularly sensitive. To sum it up in one sentence... this room is not worth 1200! The service, however, was very good! No doubt about that.

The hotel's location is great, making it super convenient for dining and shopping. The room was very clean, no strange smells, and the bed was really comfortable. Hot water came quickly, and all the facilities worked well. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient with the check-in/check-out process. The environment was also quite quiet, so my rest at night wasn't disturbed. It offers good value for money, and it's a perfect place to stay when traveling. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance.

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation nearby, making shopping and dining very easy. The rooms are spotless, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities are well-maintained. The staff are friendly and responsive to requests. The common areas are clean, and the overall atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. It's suitable for both short trips and business travel, highly recommended.

The hotel has a great location—the main shopping street and the waterfront are within walking distance. The metro is within walking distance, which is very important (a two-minute walk). This is especially important because, when returning to the hotel tired in the evening, we could quickly get from the metro to the hotel. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the reception manager, Suki — she helped us arrange our domestic flight to the Avatar Mountains (we couldn't check in or choose seats). She was a very pleasant and responsible woman! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is a new hotel with a great ambiance. The room was well-equipped, clean, and tidy, and had a lovely, fresh scent. The location is excellent, with convenient transportation and pleasant surroundings. The hotel staff were also very helpful and friendly.

We were out with the kids and it was super hot, so we decided to pop into a hotel for a quick break. This place is really convenient for the subway; the entrance to lines 8 and 9 (exit 1) is right outside. The front desk staff were great, the place was clean, and the AC cooled down the room super fast. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

This is a designer hotel with a Chinese aesthetic, featuring a lovely small courtyard. It's pet-friendly, and there were two large cats—I'm not sure if they belonged to guests or not. The location is incredibly convenient, very close to Chenghuang Temple and Yu Garden, and within walking distance to The Bund and the BFC financial center. Breakfast includes both Chinese and Western options, plus welcome fruits and drinks. The service is warm, and the hygiene is spotless. Highly recommended!
