XXiaoxingyunailvxingThe Ji Hotel Xining Railway Station is incredibly convenient, just a 7-minute walk from the train station exit! A taxi ride to Limeng Commercial Street takes about 20 minutes and costs 18 RMB. It's perfect if you need to catch an early train or are looking for an overnight stopover. The staff were incredibly helpful; they even assisted me in receiving a package I had ordered online and sent to the hotel in advance. Plus, having a printer available to print documents was a huge bonus! The room was also very spacious. For us, coming from Lanzhou, it only took an hour to reach Xining by high-speed train.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located not far from both the airport and train station, just a 20-minute taxi ride to Caojiapu Airport. During check-in, I even noticed flight attendants staying here, which gave me a good impression. We were traveling with elderly parents and a child, so we had booked a triple room. On the day of arrival, we called ahead and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a family suite. It featured a 1.8-meter king-size bed and a 1.5-meter bunk bed. Both grandma and the little one had their own beds, and our child, who had always dreamed of sleeping on the top bunk, was absolutely thrilled! They didn't even want to check out. Breakfast was also good, though it did get quite busy during peak hours, and we had to wait for a table. The hotel also provides a self-service laundry room, which is a huge convenience for long-distance travelers.

However, for an older resident like me, it felt a bit noisy. The room was relatively quiet, the breakfast was average, and the quilt was a bit thick, which was awkward for summer: warm when covered, cold when not. Perhaps it's because it's been quite cold these days.

AAmmarWe had a great time at Xining. The hotel's location, staff and service were excellent. We had smooth and quick check in and check out. While they couldn't speak English, they did their best to understand and answer my questions. The view from my room (19th floor) was great. I thought I could take some cool long exposure pictures in the night but there were very big bright lights close to our window that didn't let me. One thing I noticed was that the breakfast was mentioned to be both Chinese and Western, but it was only Chinese. I wish I had this clarity so I wouldn't have picked the room with breakfast. The entrance was not super convenient especially if you're carrying a lot of luggage. Since you'll have to help yourself, prepare accordingly.

Tthe_wanderlust_jellyWas told I am given a free room upgrade, but honestly I can't tell the difference. Also the room in the listing image was larger and brighter but the actual room I received was extremely rather grim looking, not to mention it doesn't even look like half the room size in the listing image. I also can't seem to adjust the aircon temp as it will remain at room temperature no matter what I set, however xining is quite cooling in general so it's still acceptable. In the room I was give, the glass panel at the washroom side had a severely cracked side which seem like it will break if I had closed the glass door too hard. I took a video immediately before using the toilet in case it really does get shattered, but luckily it did not Very unsafe nevertheless. The shower was the worst, every night I had to gamble if it will be cold or scalding hot water. I set the shower value slightly towards the warm side, and the water became scalding hot within seocnds, and if I move it to the cold side, it became freezing cold within seconds. Even if I set it exactly in the middle, it will give me either one of the extreme temperature. Had to keep adjusting from hot to cold so that it stay at a comfortable and safe temp range. The toilet bowl flush in a very stupid manner too, by first flooding the bowl from bottom up, this means that if you took a dump and it's a slightly sticky one, it's gonna stick. The electric kettle was so noisy when turned on that it sound like a train passing right beside my room. And speaking of noise, the sound proofing of the room was one of the worst of every single hotel I stayed in before. You can literally hear new occupants dragging their luggage or family chattering non stop right after they exit the lift. FYI, my room was literally the furthest away. Every time your neighbors from 3 room away turn on their tap water, you can hear it, even if that's like 4am in the night. The hairdryer is a safety hazard too. Tried to use it once and after plugging in and turning it on, smoke immediately came oozing out of it, so I immediately switched it off and remove the plug. Never used it since. Oh yes one last thing I have to say is that as a hotel PLEASE NEVER USE MOVEMENT OR VOICE CONTROLLED LIGHTINGS. While I wash up every day, I had to keep waving my hands like an ***** every few minutes in order to prevent the lights from going out. The detection is sooooo off that unless there's a huge action at the correct spot, it will not turn the lights back. This was absolutely annoyance. However the things I mentioned above are although not welcomed, but can be tolerated. Personally, the only thing I really love about this was the free tea. And that is also a highly recommended must try. I believe that's ******* black tea which is also a local specialty. I regret not trying earlier because at the latter of my trip, I no longer pass by stores that sells ******* black tea. Recommendation to the hotel is include a way to buy some of this tea. Overall, I will only recommend the hotel to someone who do not have any other choice or have a lower budget in mind.

The room was clean and tidy without any flaws. The food tastes great, the steamed buns and flower rolls for breakfast are very fresh, and the hotel parking is very convenient. I will choose this hotel again in the future!

HHenrionDourcyThis is honestly the best deal in town. I have been coming to Xining for 10 years, stayed in different hotels each time. This is for sure my favourite one and the best deal in this range of prices. First, the location. Right in the city centre, with a lot of taxis coming by (this can be an issue for hotels in other locations, where taxis are more rare). It is super convenient and one can reach any part of town efficiently and quickly. There are many buses that go from here to anywhere in town. Second, the quality of the room, of the bed (super super cosy and comfortable, which is really nice after travelling roughly for two weeks in the nearby countryside), the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Very good hygiene products, not cheap toothpaste and soap like in other hotels. Third, and most importantly, the quality and warmth of the service. At the reception, the employees are very friendly and understanding, very warm-hearted, You feel really welcome in this hotel. They have helped me in several ways. especially Mrs Jane and Mrs Sunny Bai: fantastic people! They also speak English! Makes the whole stay memorable, enjoyable, relaxing. I will surely come back here next time. This is an upper-tier hotel made available with affordable prices. Thank you!
