Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, proactively helping with our luggage. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the private onsens offer a high degree of privacy. Each onsen also has its own unique character and is not crowded. I highly recommend the Yakushi-no-Yu.
One area for improvement is the lack of blackout curtains in the rooms; I was woken up by the sun around 5 AM. Additionally, regarding the dinner and breakfast plan (one night, two meals), as it features traditional Japanese cuisine, it might not suit all foreign palates. However, for the cultural experience, it's excellent.
KKennyLMKThe hotel is huge, so when booking, be aware that if you and your friends book separately, you might end up in different buildings. Because of its large size and multiple buildings, there's a shuttle bus service between them, running constantly with very short waiting times. Many guests need this service because the parking lots can be quite a distance from the rooms. However, we were perfectly fine with it since we only took the car out and parked it once a day; after leaving during the day, we didn't go out again once we returned. The hotel has a convenience store open until 11 PM and the hot spring is open until midnight. We stayed for two nights with two meals a day with our friends. The hotel allowed us to dine at different restaurants on each night, but it's recommended to book your meal times when checking in. Breakfast was incredibly rich, even offering sashimi rice, ice cream, and desserts. If you have a late breakfast and eat enough, you can easily skip lunch. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
LLeeI stayed with my family during our trip to Beppu, and it exceeded all my expectations. We wanted to experience a traditional-style Ryokan, and this was the perfect choice. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that everything was well managed.
One of the highlights was the ability to reserve a private bath, which made the experience even more relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, making it an ideal place to rest and unwind.
The location is also convenient—just a 7-10 minute taxi ride from Beppu Station. I highly recommend this Ryokan to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing stay in Beppu!
GGuest UserVery Near Umi Jikogou Buffet Dinner Spread Was Really Delicious We Returned Back To Our Hotel Room With A Happy And Satisfied Personality, + Many Meaningful And Memorable Photos That My Daughter TookAnd Stomach The Oita Beef Was Really Delicious And So Amazing My Husband Really Loved And Enjoyed Eating Rooms Are Big which fits Our Family Well!!
MM231559****This Hoshino Kai hotel meets the usual high standards of the chain, and its direct ocean view is a big plus. The food, however, was just okay—nothing special compared to other Kaiseki meals I've had elsewhere. My mom even said she wasn't full. The small ice cream was delicious though! The staff's English was pretty good, and they were very enthusiastic when communicating.
GGuest UserFor my one-night stay in Beppu, I chose Meimatsu Oetei. Although it's an older hotel, it's incredibly well-maintained. The Japanese-style room was advertised as 15 sq m, but it felt much more spacious in reality. There are public baths on both the rooftop and the 3rd floor, with separate facilities for men and women. Swimsuits are not allowed, nor are mobile phones. The ocean view from the room was absolutely stunning, and you can even catch the sunrise in the morning. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserTransportation: Very convenient. It's only a 10-minute walk to JR Beppu Station. For my bus trip to Fukuoka, the bus stop (right outside Starbucks) was just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Facilities: This is a resort-style hotel, and I was lucky enough to snag a sea-view room where the first rays of morning sun streamed directly in. The room was very spacious, more than enough for two people; it actually felt a bit large for just myself. It was approximately 10 tatami mats in size (excluding the bathroom, separate toilet, entryway, and balcony).
Cleanliness: As it was a Japanese-style room, it was generally clean, but there were some small bugs. I got a few bites on my fingers and bottom, but they cleared up by the next day.
Ambiance: The balcony offered a direct view of the ocean. The 260-degree sea view room was truly impressive.
Service: Overall, the service was very good. The only area that needs improvement is the hot spring on the 7th floor. On the day of my arrival, I made a reservation for the hot spring with the hotel, but I didn't receive any confirmation or proof. Consequently, I didn't actually go. However, I was still charged either 1000 or 1500 yen for it at check-out. It's a small amount, so I didn't bother disputing it with the front desk, but I do think their booking and confirmation process for the hot spring needs significant improvement.
CCHCHIKIKIMy friends and I are very satisfied with this hotel. We were a little worried at first because the room facilities still maintain the old style (key-operated doors, traditional old-style tatami mats and paper doors). We booked the ”one bed, two meals” package, and dinner was at Choose to eat kaiseki cuisine in the room. The chef's craftsmanship and menu design made us feel that it was well worth the money spent this time! !
Although the dining space for breakfast is not large, every dish is very delicious!
If you want to talk about the shortcomings, it is probably that the space for bathing is not large, but my friends and I think that compared to other hot springs that are full of people, this environment is quite refined and comfortable.
The hotel's lobby and public spaces have all been transformed into a modern style, and not only free drinks are provided (there are even draft beers for you to drink).
I personally like and recommend this hotel
YYuki UyangaThis spacious accommodation is ideal for a family getaway with several members. It was tidy and cozy, making it a pleasant place to stay with my kids. The highlight was the garden outside and the large windows that let in the morning sun, creating a lovely atmosphere for breakfast while gazing outside. Unfortunately, the hot spring was out of order when we got there, but it appeared to be large enough for two people to enjoy. I was initially concerned that the size of the apartment would make it chilly upon arrival, but the heating system was effective, and the place warmed up quickly.
GGuest UserThe receptionist was courteous. The other staff members were also considerate. The rooms are clean and have plenty of amenities. The breakfast was luxurious and filling.
