This place is truly a paradise, a real wonderland! It felt ethereal with gentle wisps of white mist drifting everywhere. We paid extra to upgrade to a large suite, offering stunning views of the distant harbor.
As soon as we pulled up the hotel's driveway, valet parking was immediately available. Among the staff, one of the valet attendants was a very handsome French guy with an exceptional service mindset. Another staff member, a tall Black gentleman (around 2 meters), even knelt down to enthusiastically explain the room types and hotel facilities to us. We were genuinely impressed and touched by their passionate service. We will definitely be returning for another stay!
The hotel's dining options are also excellent – highly recommend trying them out!

GGuest UserThe hotel was great — we loved the onsen and the breakfast. Special shout-out to Otake for being so friendly and helpful, making our stay extra comfortable and at ease. He went out of his way to assist us with extending our stay for another night and even made sure we got our preferred pillows. His service was genuinely the reason we decided to extend our stay.
One small tip for future guests: remember to choose your pillow right after check-in, as we weren’t informed about this during arrival. Also, no need to bring facial skincare products — the hotel provides them. And yes, free alcohol is a lovely bonus 😊

LLeeI stayed with my family during our trip to Beppu, and it exceeded all my expectations. We wanted to experience a traditional-style Ryokan, and this was the perfect choice. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that everything was well managed.
One of the highlights was the ability to reserve a private bath, which made the experience even more relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, making it an ideal place to rest and unwind.
The location is also convenient—just a 7-10 minute taxi ride from Beppu Station. I highly recommend this Ryokan to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing stay in Beppu!

__M1381750****I just realized I didn't take any photos! The hotel's location is pretty good; it's right off the main road, just a short turn into a smaller street. It's very close to the JR station, where the tourist information center is located. You can buy 'hell' tickets and bus day passes there. If you're taking the bus to Kumamoto, the stop is right across the street, in front of Lawson.
Don't be alarmed when you enter the hotel and see a cafe – the front desk is right beside it, inside the cafe. You can store your luggage there. Japan now mostly has self check-in, but the front desk staff will assist you. They'll give you information about the hotel. After checking in, you'll grab a black bag containing towels yourself. If you need anything else, you can pick it up from the table nearby.
They don't offer cleaning service for stays less than five days, which I found a bit inconvenient – having to do some chores even when on vacation! Every day, you put your trash bin outside your door, and hang used towels outside the door. When you return in the evening, the trash bin will have a clean bag and you bring it back in. For towels, remember to pick up a new black bag from the first floor when you come back; I initially thought they'd also be hung outside, but they weren't.
For check-out, I used the self-service machine. Just insert your room card into the machine for it to be collected, and you're all set.
The hotel itself is quite clean, and there's a hot spring available, though I didn't go as I'm not a big fan.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located, about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station, just down the alley from Takegawara Onsen. It's surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping malls, and is close to the beach and Beppu Tower. Takegawara Onsen offers a sand bath, but I didn't try it again because I'd already tried it in Ibusuki. This is a very traditional Japanese-style hotel, with relatively large tatami rooms. The facilities appear dated, but they are very clean. There are no private showers, so you need to use the communal baths (sitz baths and hot springs). The hotel also has private baths available for reservation and a fee. Daily housekeeping is not included, so you need to leave your trash at the door each day, where it will be collected by staff. Towels and bathrobes are provided for the two days before your stay, and you can pick them up at the front desk if you need more. Since there's no room service, the bed isn't made, so you have to make it yourself. I initially thought it would be a little awkward, but it was surprisingly easy to adapt to. There is a laundry room, which costs 300 yen for unlimited use during your stay, but there are only two washers and dryers, and there's a queue during peak hours. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, answering all my questions. Breakfast is a set meal, and the restaurant staff are also very friendly. The meals are different every day during the three-day stay, which is a plus! Beppu is really comfortable and relaxing. I hope to have the opportunity to come again in the future~

**Pros:**
1. **Excellent Location:** It's just a 5-minute walk from the JR station, the bus stop for Fukuoka, and the bus stop for the Beppu Hells. The Fukuoka-bound bus station (located near a shopping mall) is also conveniently reachable within a 10-minute walk.
2. **Stunning Infinity Pool:** The infinity pool offers breathtaking views, including Beppu Tower, and is perfect for photos. Unfortunately, it rained heavily during my stay, so it was deserted during the day. The operating hours are quite reasonable, covering most of the day during my visit.
3. **Impressive Lobby & Dining:** The main building's lobby boasts an impressive design. Dining options are available on the first floor, and at 3300 JPY (approximately 160 RMB), the price is quite reasonable, comparable to what you'd expect at a star-rated hotel in China.
4. **Convenient Amenities & Services:** Shower caps and other amenities are available for collection at the front desk. Luggage storage is also provided.
5. **Spacious & Quiet Rooms:** Rooms are spacious. The hotel is quiet, ensuring a very good night's sleep.

GGuest UserThe entryway is very spacious, and the room itself is surprisingly large, even bigger than it appears in the photos. The sea view is beautiful, and soaking in the hot spring at night felt just like having a private onsen. There's a bus stop right outside, with direct service to Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell). Beppu Kitahama is right next door, and Don Quijote is just a short walk further. While it's a bit of a walk from Beppu Station, staying right by the sea often means sacrificing a little bit of convenience.

We used self automated check in and out hence can’t really review service of the hotel; the room, while compact, was very clean and had everything we needed. It's very cold, but you can control the heater.
Although it is a weekend, the price is too expensive and you have to pay a 1000 yen hot spring tax even if you do not use the hot spring when you check out.
