Cheap Hotels in Beppu

"This hotel has seven private hot springs, and I made sure to try each one. When I went, there were initially two empty ones, and after I used those, I moved on to the others until I had experienced all seven. There's also an eighth large hot spring, which felt like I had it all to myself – completely empty! So I enjoyed another soak there. They offer several types of shampoo, but the original one they provide is actually the best. The hotel also has seven hot spring pools, all modeled after natural springs. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby. They even post the sunrise times, and you can go up to watch it, though I missed it this morning. And they have Yakult! Anyway, everything was really great."

"Very pleased with our one night stay at Beppu Daiiti Hotel. It was a short 5-minute walk to the Beppu Station. So convenient. Room was very clean and tidy and of a decent size. The staff at the counter were all so courteous and very helpful. Asked them about a private onsen where we could go and they recommended one and phoned to help us make reservations. Also gave us good info about Beppu Hells and the transportation we could take. If coming back to Beppu, we’ll surely book at this hotel again."

"This four-star hotel's rooftop pool is even better than the five-star InterContinental's. I'd even say it feels better than Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, because the MBS rooftop pool sells sightseeing tickets, so there are too many tourists, which diminishes the experience no matter how well-designed it is. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options and even includes sparkling wine, which is a rare find in hotel breakfasts."

"Facilities: The decor and amenities are really good, with a lot of character. There's even an open-air bath upstairs. Hygiene: Very good, spotless, though it felt a little cramped. Environment: Fantastic, an unbeatable sea view, just a bit far from Beppu Station. Service: Good, responsive and enthusiastic. The dinner and breakfast included (one-night, two-meal plan) were delicious, although some of the staff were a bit older and not all spoke English well."

"It was a great stay for us. Parking was available on the premises. The hotel was within walking distance of a large Don Quixote and a nice department store (Tokiwa). There are also some eateries nearby. We found the room clean and spacious by Japanese standards. Honestly, for what we paid, we were not expecting much, so this hotel did handily exceed our expectations. The toilet was quite small, so someone larger than the average-sized Japanese person might find it difficult to navigate."

"This hotel has it all, even a water filter for drinking water, not to mention a whole box of laundry detergent for washing clothes, and a drying rack on the balcony. On the first floor, there's a lobby with a variety of free drinks. The breakfast on the top floor is also incredibly rich, costing about 250 NTD per person. The curry rice, miso soup, tamagoyaki, and side dishes are abundant. We even ordered a grilled meat set meal for dinner, which was luxurious and affordable. I honestly suspect the owner doesn't care about costs, just wants guests to enjoy themselves. There are also parking spaces at the entrance. The rooftop restaurant offers over a 250-degree view of the beach, ocean, and nightscape, which is absolutely beautiful. Nearby, you can take a walk along the beach and enjoy Beppu Onsen. The Beppu Observation Deck at night is also stunning, and it's more than just a traditional observation deck: * 17F: Observation deck, observation deck cafe, light installations, Beppu Tower Shrine * 16F: Observation deck, Galaxy Walk, and other illuminated spaces * 5F: Sky & Light Terrace, mid-level observation deck, also with BBQ/Sauna facilities * 4F: Karaoke * 2F: Beppu Art Museum * 1F: Restaurant CREOLE CAFE"

"Celebrated 520 (May 20th) by booking a more upscale meal that day, and the experience was great ❤️. The location is fantastic! It's a 5-minute walk to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), so we went straight there after breakfast when it was less crowded. Regarding service, I have to say: it was the rainy season, and there were many staff members standing at the entrance, but they only bowed. It felt awkward watching adults and children run into the hotel in the rain to check in, and checking out involved carrying our own luggage in the rain too."

"The accommodation was clean and conveniently located. The breakfast was quite substantial too. The price was fair for the facilities and food offered. There were also plenty of places to explore nearby in the evening, all within walking distance. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time."

"I chose this seaside hotel to enjoy the sunrise and sunset while soaking in the hot spring. The two meals included were decent, and the seafood was fresh. The mentaiko for breakfast was a local specialty. The room was spacious, with a separate wet and dry area, and the balcony was fantastic – facing the ocean, perfect for drying clothes... haha. I didn't book a private onsen because it wasn't crowded at all; every time I went, I had the place to myself. Soaking in the onsen while watching the sunrise was truly amazing! 😎 It's a 10-minute walk from the JR station to the hotel. Right across the first road from the hotel entrance, there's a large shopping mall with a supermarket, Muji, Starbucks, and everything you could need. However, most seaside hotels tend to be older. This one has been renovated and feels quite new. You have to lay out your own futon on the tatami mat (mine was a mess!), so for elderly guests with mobility issues, I'd recommend a standard bed. 🛌"
