"The check-in process was a bit of a hassle. It was my first time staying at a motel in Japan, and I wasn't familiar with the procedures. When I got to the front desk, there wasn't a single staff member, which I understand, as motels are usually quite secluded. However, the front desk didn't provide any instructions on how to check in. I wandered around for a while before finally finding a phone next to the machine in the exit corridor (since the entry and exit corridors are separate). I tried calling it, and thankfully someone answered immediately. I told them I was there to check in, and someone quickly came to help me… This was a great experience, and I'm so glad I found that phone; otherwise, I don't know how long I would have had to wait to check in…"
