4-Star Hotels in Tibet, China

I booked this hotel for my first and last day in Lhasa, and the service was absolutely fantastic! When I arrived, a security guard helped me with my luggage. On the day I left, a staff member saw I was in a hurry to catch my flight and helped carry my bags and saw me off. The hotel is clean and hygienic. Since it was my second time staying, the front desk小姐姐 (a polite way to refer to a female staff member) even upgraded me to an executive room when other rooms were available, which offered a view of the Potala Palace. The experience was truly amazing!

Really Amway is now a mountain hotel! Staying intimately helped upgrade the room, and the overall experience was directly full. The room hygiene is particularly in place, every corner is clean and tidy, spotless, and the living is particularly comfortable. The floor heating of the whole house is super comfortable, and there is a diffuse oxygen supply. There is no need to worry about the high reaction. The room facilities are brand new and complete, and the configuration is particularly attentive. The large floor-to-ceiling windows are facing Nanga Bawa, the view is unobstructed, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains while lying on the bed. The store also provides free snacks and drinks, and the service is particularly warm. This homestay is the first choice for Nanga Bawa!

Pros: Hotel staff are friendly and the location is close to the main tourist district and the Potala Palace. There are restaurants available near the hotel. One thing was that I communicated with the front desk staff to not disturb me the next morning and that I will let them know when they could clean the room coz I was exhausted due to high altitude sickness and unable to sleep throughout the night, however, the cleaning staff banged on the door at 12 noon asking if they could clean the room. When I booked this hotel on Trip.com, it says also includes one afternoon tea per day, and I booked 9 nights. It turned out isn't true and was not told until I asked the front desk. The hotel staff only responded that in fact the afternoon tea has been cancelled since Dec 2025 and did not provide anything else. With this incident plus laundry only allows 5 pieces/day and doesn't wash inner wear like socks/underwear. I honestly feel that there are a lot more other choices at this price.

I stayed at this hotel in Lhasa for several consecutive nights! What I loved most was the super spacious Tibetan-style courtyard on the first floor. I was absolutely mesmerized the moment I walked in! You can dine, enjoy sweet tea, afternoon tea, pet cats… In short, it’s perfect for leisurely spending time in Lhasa. The hotel is right on the Barkhor Street kora path, just a 3-minute walk to Jokhang Temple! I heard this used to be the Nepalese Consulate 400 years ago, and now it's the Gesar Japo Museum! Carvings, murals, and antique objects are everywhere. Exploring this heritage-listed ******* ancient building truly feels like stepping back in time. Upon check-in, there's a traditional Hada presentation. The staff are so warm and helpful, even assisting with luggage. They also offer complimentary ******* traditional clothing for photos. In the room, there's a special high-altitude welcome kit: facial masks, hair essential oil, makeup remover wipes, and more… so thoughtful for female guests! The hotel offers a self-service breakfast. It's a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, truly a master of creating a wonderful atmosphere! 🏡

Staying at Dongmawa Homestay was definitely the best decision I made on this trip to Tibet! 🏨The location is fantastic! From the rooftop terrace, you can have a complete view of the Potala Palace at night. Having dinner or afternoon tea with friends on the terrace while enjoying the view was incredibly pleasant! The room amenities are comparable to a five-star hotel! It has a Dyson humidifier and hairdryer. There's also a washing machine with a dryer and a small refrigerator. The diffused oxygen supply helped me sleep soundly without worrying about altitude sickness. Their breakfast was absolutely amazing—so plentiful! The owner was warm and welcoming, the room was clean and cozy, and the Tibetan-style decor was full of delightful surprises. I felt comfortable and at ease during my stay, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lhasa!!

The hotel's location is excellent, close to everything, with many great food options nearby and a night market within walking distance. The night shift front desk lady was very helpful, the hotel was clean, facilities were new, and the breakfast was delicious 😋

Satisfactory aspects: The room was nice and had ethnic characteristics; the hotel's location was excellent (we had a travel companion with mobility issues); the service and communication were very satisfactory (there was a third-party system error with another platform regarding room extensions, but the front desk staff were very patient in communicating with them, and the receptionist, Yangji, provided excellent service; the overall service quality was also very good); the breakfast was delicious and we were very satisfied; the room cleaning was also satisfactory. -- The only unsatisfactory aspect was: the toothbrush bristles were shedding. After rinsing my mouth, 5 or 6 bristles got stuck between my teeth, and I had to stop and pull them out while rinsing. (Bringing your own toothbrush solved this problem.) -- Suggestion: If possible, if the hotel renovates again, it could add features catering to younger travelers (such as self-service laundry and a self-service bar). -- There are attractions downstairs, and you can walk to Namased Restaurant. It's conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to get around. The attached pictures show nearby attractions and restaurants.

The moment I stepped into the hotel, a strong ******* ambiance embraced me. The white stupa and prayer flags in the courtyard created a serene atmosphere. The room's decor felt incredibly homey, far from the cold, impersonal hotel style, and instead filled with a sense of lived-in warmth. The solid wood furniture, wool ******* rugs, and that window overlooking Nanshan Park all contributed to a particularly comfortable stay. What touched me most was the hotel's service. The front desk lady was incredibly enthusiastic; seeing me struggling with my luggage alone, she proactively helped me carry it up and even brought me a warm cup of Rhodiola tea.

The experience of staying at Verona Hotel this time was great. First of all, the hotel is in a very advantageous location, located in the city center, with convenient transportation, and surrounding attractions and shopping centers. Secondly, the hotel's service quality is very high. Xiaofang, the front desk staff, is warm and friendly, and the check-in and check-out procedures are very quick. The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities and comfortable beds, providing a good rest environment. Particularly worth mentioning is the hotel's catering service. The breakfast is rich in variety, with fresh ingredients and authentic taste. The environment of the restaurant is also very elegant and comfortable. In addition, the hotel also provides a variety of special services, such as night view tours, special cars to the Potala Palace, Norbulingka, etc. The facilities are very complete, with medical oxygen concentrator humidifiers! Let us maintain a healthy lifestyle during the journey. Overall, this stay at Verona Hotel was a very pleasant experience. The tour guide arranged by the travel agency on the first floor is very good, and the explanation is wonderful! Both the hotel's hardware facilities and service quality have reached a high standard.
