4-Star Hotels in Xinjiang, China

We were playing in Tashkurgan, and this hotel, newly opened, is very close to the town center. After eating at 'Guest from the Iceberg' (冰山上的来客), it was just a 10-minute drive to the hotel. It's a chain hotel, so the value for money is quite good. Service gets full marks; the pretty lady at the front desk even gave me coffee. The security guard at night was also very nice, it's just that there was no cleaning lady available in the evenings! The disaster, though, was our first night. We booked a family room. It was very spacious, especially the bathroom, which was huge! There was also a U-shaped sofa 🛋️ by the entrance. The two beds could be pushed together, which was convenient for our family. My first impression was that the bedding wasn't great; it didn't feel like pure cotton, it had a rustling texture and wasn't very soft against the skin. There was also a bug flying around in the room, which I swatted and killed on the sheets. So, I asked for the sheets to be changed. Since it was late, I just thought, 'Let's just change the sheets and sleep.' Next, for better sleep, I asked the security guard to get me two buckwheat pillows. The moment I replaced the pillows, I was genuinely speechless – there were several dead bugs under the pillow... different types of bugs, not just mosquitoes. At that point, I demanded a room change. We moved to another room, but there were still bugs flying around! Because it was so late and we had an early start the next day, we decided not to switch hotels again! My first night's impression was really bad. We had originally packed our luggage and left it at the front desk, planning to pick it up that evening. However, after a tiring second day of sightseeing, and with the kids wanting to go to the hotel's billiard room, when we went to retrieve our luggage, we just decided to book a family room again on the spot. We requested a clean and tidy room from the hotel. The second night's room faced the same direction as the hotel entrance, and the distant view was quite nice! No other mishaps. Overall, it offers great value for money. The breakfast is good, the service is excellent, the hotel laundry room is well-equipped, and the billiard table and kids' play area are also satisfying. The lobby is bright and spacious! Mineral water is directly placed at the front desk for guests to take. The only downsides were the hygiene on the first night, and the lack of a cleaning lady on duty at night. There was only the security guard and one front desk staff member. The front desk said she couldn't leave her post, so changing rooms, changing sheets, and dealing with dead bugs all fell to the security guard, who had to run back and forth. It was a bit inefficient and slow. Given our long journey and late arrival at the hotel, all this dragged on until past 1 AM. We were truly exhausted! I would still choose to stay for a second night because the family rooms are suitably large and the service is good. Please, hygiene definitely needs to be improved; it would help elevate the hotel's standard!

This hotel offers an exceptional experience! From the lobby to the hallways and guest rooms, everything is exquisitely and thoughtfully decorated. The lobby features a book bar and wellness tea, while the in-room amenities are of excellent quality. The bath and hand towels are all high-temperature sterilized and sealed. The rooms are spacious and clean, making for a very comfortable stay, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of refined dishes. What truly stood out was the service; they paid close attention to our reservation requests and proactively upgraded our room, fulfilling our every need. The front desk and all staff members were incredibly polite, always asking if we needed assistance and offering help promptly and diligently. The hotel also provides services like car washing and station transfers. We stayed in two different room types with three people, and we all agreed this hotel offers fantastic value for money and made us feel right at home!

The most comfortable night's sleep I had in Xinjiang! Atour, you are truly worth it! I'd book you even at a premium, and I'll be back! I arrived quite late that evening, and my clothes, which I left in the laundry room, were hung outside my door first thing in the morning. For this service alone, I'd willingly keep staying at your hotel. No need to say more about the bedding; I even use your 'deep sleep' pillows myself! Atour, I genuinely will love you forever – absolutely five stars! Also, the sunset photographed outside the hotel was beautiful. I'll definitely be back next time I visit Xinjiang. Just one suggestion: the back entrance is a bit far; maybe next time you could have a security guard help with luggage?

Location: The hotel boasts an excellent location, about a 10-minute walk from the Grand Bazaar and Metro Line 1 (which goes directly to the airport). There are plenty of shops downstairs and dining is convenient. It's in the same building as hotels like Ji Hotel, Atour, and Orange Hotel. During this Xinjiang trip, I stayed here for three nights (one night upon arrival, then two more consecutive nights after my circuit tour ended and I returned to Urumqi). Facilities: The room size is generous, the bedding is comfortable, and the complimentary yogurt was from Cha Balei, which was delicious. The underground parking is a public lot; just remember to inform the front desk of your license plate before leaving to enjoy free parking. Grand Bazaar Specialty Travel Photography: We were told the travel photography shop was under renovation and temporarily unable to provide services. I didn't order breakfast at the hotel, as there are various shops downstairs making dining easy.

Super satisfied with our stay with the kids! The room was spacious, clean, and safe, and our child slept really soundly. The hotel service was thoughtful and attentive, the location is great, and parking was convenient. Our whole family loved it and we highly recommend it for families with children. 👍👍

I booked this hotel over a month in advance. It was perfectly situated for a rest stop in Urumqi, Xinjiang, to adjust to the time difference and enjoy some local food after my trip from Georgia. I'm so glad I chose this place! The price was reasonable during the National Day holiday, and the room size was just right for our two large suitcases and bags. I initially thought about upgrading, fearing we'd be cramped, but the two single beds could be pushed together, which was perfect for my husband, our 10-year-old, and me. So, we skipped the upgrade. I must say, the service here is excellent. One evening, after a walk, the three of us enjoyed a free foot bath. The only minor thing was that the water wasn't quite hot enough; we had to boil a kettle to add some to make it comfortable. I particularly loved their laundry room on the 6th floor. As we were in a transition period and had been traveling for over ten days, we were running out of clothes. I did laundry three times and used the dryer a few times, then let them air dry, and they were ready to wear – so convenient! The hotel's location is also great, about a 10-15 minute walk from the food street. The hotel breakfast was good, and they even offered lunch at the adjacent Apple Hotel lobby, which we tried, and the dishes were quite decent. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Urumqi, and I'll try booking a suite then!

The hotel is new and clean. It occupies several floors of a bigger building. All the facilities work well, including free use of washing machines, which we valued much. There are lots of eating outlets around the hotel, though you will need to take a bus to get to the bigger malls, and the International Bazaar. The bus top is just about 100 to 200m from the hotel, and hence provides easy access. Otherwise, the Didi works too. The breakfast area is small, and the spread is reasonable but not too big, with coffee and bread (for those yearning for western spread). Front desk service is very good, with friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed two nights in Altay City while skiing at the nearby resort, and the hotel was a great base for our trip. The rooms were clean with good heating — perfect after a cold day on the slopes. Parking was free and conveniently right in front of the hotel, which made everything easy. A comfortable and practical choice for anyone visiting the area.

The location of the room is fantastic, right downstairs from a lively food street filled with all kinds of local delicacies—you don't even need to go to Hetian 2nd Street. The room was generally clean. The staff were friendly and helpful during working hours, though it was a bit hard to reach them after hours. The breakfast features authentic Xinjiang flavors, which might take some getting used to for out-of-towners. The only minor drawback was that adjusting the water temperature in the shower was a bit inconvenient, but otherwise everything was great.

The hotel is relatively new, with good cleanliness and relatively new facilities. The breakfast, however, is rather bland. I'm comparing this to the price. After all, at just over 400 yuan, you can stay in a five-star hotel in many cities. I understand that hotels raise prices during peak tourist season, but with more guests and higher prices, shouldn't the breakfast offer a more extensive menu? Furthermore, the most frustrating thing is that during our two nights at the hotel, the housekeeping staff knocked on our door at around 9 a.m. two days in a row, waking us all up. The second morning was even more outrageous: just as I was about to get up and open the door, the housekeeper had already swiped my card in... This situation reflects the chaotic management of the hotel, where they couldn't even tell which rooms had been checked out.
