Our second stay at Platinum Hotel Tunjungan was once again a pleasant experience. We were warmly welcomed by Ms. Puteri at reception, who remembered us from our previous visit—this personal touch made us feel truly valued.
We were happy to receive a room upgrade, and overall, the room was comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of options. The bellboy was also very helpful and attentive throughout our stay.
There are a few areas that could be improved. The internet connection was quite slow, the room is not fully soundproof, and the bath towels could be upgraded. However, we really loved the pillows—they were extremely comfortable and made our sleep very restful.
Overall, we had a great stay and would consider returning again.
stay for a night during our transit in Surabaya — the room looks new, and very clean. didn't book the breakfast option as we are planning to leave early so we didn't try their food.
The staff also friendly and helpful, the hotel is located at praxis building, we went with a car and the hotel will provide the free parking voucher on your check-in.
Got few resto and circle-K as well on the ground level, so very convenient. will come back next time!
The hotel is at a place quite convenient and quiet. We got to see the fireworks of the entire cbd. The room is quite spacious and clean. There are malls and cafes nearby.

”The hotel was in a fantastic location, close to all the popular landmarks. Our room was very spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and beautiful views from the balcony. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, and the breakfast was delicious with many fresh options. We had a truly pleasant and relaxing stay!”
Overall had a great stay as a couple here for 2N. Location is pretty good with a lot of local attractions nearby like Museum Angkut and Jatim Park. The hotel also has a rooftop bar and lounge with a great view of surrounding mountains and pretty lights at night. One thing can be improved is the amenities provided, we don't even know which one is shampoo or soap, there's no label and both liquid were super watery with bright colors..
I don’t quite understand the hype surrounding this hotel. Apart from its scenic view and peaceful ambiance, there’s not much else to say about it. The breakfast was ordinary, and you’ll have to pay extra for a cappuccino, while black coffee is the only one that’s free. The TV is also quite small. I’m not planning to return here.
The hotel is centrally located. While accessing the main road involves a slight detour, overall it's fine, and it's not too far from the main road itself. The rooms are compact, but it's a viable option for a transit hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The TVs come with Netflix, so it's a good option when you don't feel like going out during the day, especially given Surabaya's scorching heat.
Service: The hotel is quite large overall. As soon as we got off at the lobby, a staff member came to help with our luggage. We were offered welcome drinks and hot towels to wipe our hands during check-in. Afterward, a staff member escorted us to our room.
Facilities: Everything was great, including a hairdryer, mini-fridge, wardrobe, slippers, toiletries, and more.
Hygiene: It was clean and hygienic, with no strange odors. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily.
Environment: The hotel has many coconut trees, and the hotel restaurant faces Bali, separated by the sea. There's also a small bar by the pool where you can order a drink and relax by the pool while looking at Bali; it's quite pleasant.
So far ok. Stay there for 3 days was not happy with the aminities in room. I was complain about hair dryer. Once we used is broken then technician came then fixed. After that used still on off. Second day call receptionis sending same complain about hair dryer was broken but only fixed, he said fan in problem after used in 30 sec then nit working again. They we find that kettle opener is broken n still keep using, nit changing with new one after that dripping water from inside kettle.

Very Good
RRose AnnWe use this place every time we go to Ijen to do birdwatching for years.
Room is ok with warm and good water pressure.
They have western and local restaurant on site. The Western one was ok but the local restaurant is always a no and serve poor quality food, the warung can serve better Nasi goreng than in here. Some of the server in the local restaurant are lack of training.
GGuest UserDelicious Indonesian Javanese food specially created by the host, May, as well as the level of dedicated service is the highlight of this hotel.
The menu food sounds unappealing, but all 7 lunch and dinners were so good.
You have to try the chicken satay, which is soft and has white clean meat.
The tuna is melted and panini is so fresh.
The spaghetti cakalang is her created recipe of smoked fish and spaghetti. Her tofu and Tempe must not be missed!
Her tempong chicken is yummy and fresh! Feels like it's directly from the farm.
Nasi goreng must not be missed!
Papayas seem to be in the season.
Fried bananas covered in coconut flakes are not to be missed!
In this hotel, don't expect luxury cleanliness because there are a lot of insects (bees, butterflies, moths, grasshopper, flies), spiders, millipedes, lizards, even a gecko. If you want to stay in this rustic resort you have to be okay with them.
I didn't like the insects stuff in the room but the hosts immediately sent their staff to deal with them. Staff are friendly just be patient with them because not all speak English.
May was a super host, who gave ALL sorts of ideas on where to go, and how to go, and gives you contacts and numbers and details. Ibnu makes the best dirty latte in Banyuwangi, most probably. The hosts are very nice and go out of the way to make their guests welcome. They even dropped us at a nearby tour site, and also gave us a short walk to the beach nearby.
This level of service is almost unbeatable. Staff are always ready and welcome to greet and smile at you.
I think the Indonesian and Javanese meals are better than the breakfast menu.
Breakfast pancake and American breakfast normal only.
They generously dropped us off at Bangsring Underwater which was 3-5 mins away, which MUST NOT BE MISSED for snorkelling beginners! (But first check out if the season is good for snorkelling)
If you stay here, be prepared there's not much in the area. And not much air-conditioned cafes or restaurant or shops nearby too.
The family room has a breathtaking view of the mountains but because of the attic like structure, is prone to insects and lizards and stuff. It had a resident gecko.
The deluxe suite room had a flat ceiling so lesser insects! + huge verandah for drying your clothes + pink bougainvillea.
There are corn fields beside the hotel.
They send food to your room if you don't want to eat in the restaurant which also has a amazing view. Restaurant has rustic vibes with antique candelabras
(+ spiders).
Aaloysius alfaThe building in some areas, like the kids' playground, was dirty, small, messy, incomplete, and the toys were broken. Several other areas were also quite dirty. The service wasn't very friendly and was too strict. For breakfast, many hotels offer it for free for children under 12, or at least have a special child's rate. When I chatted with marketing, it seemed like there was a price for children, but on the day itself, the staff told me to pay the adult price.
GGuest UserThe room was clean and smelled fresh, the receptionist was friendly, and all the staff were incredibly helpful. Such great value for money! I'll definitely be back again!!! 🤗😍🥰🥳
CChunshumuyun2019All the facilities are clean and quite good in quality. Only 1 shortcomings: the door can't shield the the room from sound in the corridors totally, I can clearly heard the knockings and bell ringing from other rooms at night. But in general, it's still a quite decent hotel to stay.

GGuest UserI'd highly recommend this hotel to everyone! It offers incredible value for money. All the staff were so welcoming and the hotel facilities are top-notch. It was my first time staying on the 23rd floor and the view was amazing. The gym and pool were very clean, and there's even a bar. It's truly a perfect place to relax.
MMrEmzThe location is just off the main street running through Malang, makes the hotel less affected by traffic noise. One of the minor drawbacks of this hotel is the lobby drop off area and minimal availability of parking onsite.
The friendliness and helpful customer service can be felt as you step into the hotel, from the security to the receptionist and workers all radiating warm smiles. Our check in process was smooth, we were assisted to find an available room for early check-in before 1pm . The restaurant staff was also attentive and courteous.
The hotel felt relatively new, only a couple years old and in great shape. The bedroom had semi firm but comfortable mattrass, with abundant pillows. Delightfully we got a 55” LG Smart Tv, with the to-date streaming services available (Netflix, Disney, Prime, Vidio, Youtube) and also cable tv showing international channels (AXN, Japanese, Arabic, etc). The room felt very cosy for resting after a long day's work or travel. The bathroom, although only had showers and no bathtub, gave great water pressure and hot water. The only complaint from the hotel is perhaps due to the connecting door, we can hear the other room's door closing and opening loudly as well as some talking from the other room.
Hotel had an interesting gym for good workout, rooftop cafe/restaurant. Didnt try any of those facilities for this trip but hopefully for my next trip. This is my second stay at 101 and look forward to returning again. Also, right across the hotel is a Sara Bakery, which serves good cakes and bakery products, and has a full restaurant menu also.
AAnonymous UserWe enjoyed our stay here. The staff is very polite and helpful.
When we went to our room, we noticed a smoke smell, so they changed it, and the next room was good. Even though the hallway smelled like smoke pretty bad.
Bed and pillows are good. Shower is good. Enough space to place your things.
The pool is nice, there are table and chairs but no beds unfortunately. The pool is on the first floor so it’s mainly in the shades. The gym is small.
Breakfast was okay, lots of options like pancakes and waffles. But the coffee was terrible. Nobody could drank it. We asked for a new batch but it didn’t come.
It’s close to malls and other restaurants, but you have to cross a busy street.
