TTorv1k📍Location: Absolutely breathtaking! The guest house is perched high on a hill with a fantastic panoramic view of the Douro Valley vineyards. It’s a local winery where you can take romantic walks directly among the vines. Access is best by car (free parking is available). While there’s no on-site restaurant, several towns with dining options are just a 5-10 minute drive away.
🛋️ Rooms: We stayed in one of the two separate cabins, which feature full floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The view of the vineyard directly from the bed is unforgettable! Though the room felt slightly smaller than in the photos, it was modern and cozy. The main building has a beautiful, authentic lobby, a swimming pool, and they are currently adding a sauna and jacuzzi.
🍛 Food: The breakfast is a highlight! It’s much more than a standard continental breakfast: everything is fresh and local, including delicious oranges, olive oil, and honey produced right on the farm. They even timed the cooking to our arrival to ensure everything was fresh. For the evening, you can order snacks until 6:00 PM. We also highly recommend the wine tasting in the lobby: it’s €20-25 for 4-5 wines (we loved the red, white, and rosé), and you can add a generous cold cut platter for an additional €25.
🛌🏻 Service: The staff is incredibly flexible and kind. Sylvia, who handled our check-in and the tasting, was professional and informative. Even the lady preparing breakfast (who spoke only Portuguese) was remarkably sweet and attentive. We also received some home made complimentary Port wine! You can also buy their premium products to take home: wines are around €12, olive oil is €6, and their honey is similarly well-priced. Truly one of our best stays ever with fantastic value for money!
GGuest UserO atendimento foi excecional. Quarto qualidade/preço foi muito bom. Foi uma estadia muito agradável. Deveriam ter a água da piscina nais quente, bem como, o mrio envolvente.
GGuest UserBeatiful house with nice comfortable rooms, a super nice living room for spending the evening . Good breakfast and a nice, clean pool. Big garden with grapes and olive trees, kiwi and qrapes on top of the parking lot. Enough parking space. Definitely worth a visit during your douro valley tour. Some nice restaurants to visit in the small towns nearby. Tasty wine from own production and very friendly owners
GGuest User
GGuest UserIt was a pleasant experience. We loved the hotel; it's not new, but the facilities are good, the pool area is very pleasant, and the view is simply breathtaking.
The staff is super friendly, helpful, and attentive.
Breakfast was included, and it was quite good.
We ended up having dinner both days during our stay, and it was a pleasant experience.
It's worth checking out and returning.
GGuest UserLovely hotel and very nice welcome. Old style but very special. Dinner was a little disappointing but breakfast was excellent. We recommend to stay here as it has a very special atmosphere and is worth the experience. Beautiful lands and gardens also to be seen and walked
AAnonymous UserWe had a wonderful two-night stay at Quinta de Sao Luis. The property is well located and surrounded by the vineyards. The room offers a nice view. Breakfast is delicious. However, the price for dinner is a bit pricey compared to the quantity of food.
GGuest UserWe loved our stay here. The hotel was right in the heart of the village. An older style boutique property with legitimate old world charm. If you are planning to visit this area, I would not hesitate to recommend this property!
GGuest UserIn the restaurant, the first night we ordered the set dinner tasting menu, it was average. The second night, we ordered from the a la carte menu for the fish and octopus, they are sooooooo good! Thus, I recommend ordering from a la carte. I also love the service in the restaurant, the head chef will take ur orders, and his colleagues will help delivering. The orange juices during breakfast are freshly squeezed from the oranges in the yards, very delicious. The restaurant is likely the best thing in this quinta.
I lived in the maker rooms, the rooms are average for its price.
The wine tasting is definitely a rip-off, they gave you some recent year cheap wines. I can get similar wine tasting at a similar price in Florence Italy wine region with delicious wines from 1800. I do not recommend doing wine tasting in this quinta.
They created some circuits or paths for you to tour around which is nice, but the notations and map are not updated. You may get lost, but you should also be able to figure your way out so no big deal.
AAndreiaThe views from the hotel are incredible. It is located in a quiet area, with great views but is far from everything.
Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Sheets were dirty with hair.
Breakfast also. For a 4-star hotel there should have been more variety and fresh bread, because the bread didn't seem to be fresh. They should replace the food, since there were no longer any fruits and other things.
The price is excessive at the pool bar.
Otherwise, everything was impeccable. Very beautiful hotel
