Via Hotel Taipei Main Station is very conveniently located just walking distance to Taipei Main Station (Commuter and HSR trains) and Ximending Station/Street. The hotel staff were really friendly. Although i had booked 2 different rooms across the duration of my stay, checking in and out of both rooms were seamless! And not to mention, the amenities were well provided. Amenities such as hair ties, contact lens solution (to ask from the hotel staff) and make up cottons were available too. There is also a pantry for guests to retrieve additional mineral water, soft drinks, soft serve, desserts at no additional costs. They also have massage chairs just below the pantry for the tired legs to rest (didn’t get to try it actually). Oh and the cleanliness of the room was top notch! Overall a very good hotel and would definitely come back again!

This review is for the windowless Standard Double Room.

Excellent location, clean rooms, and accommodating staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the Ximending shopping district and is only a 2-minute walk from Ximen MRT Station. The room was very spacious for a solo traveller and generally clean, with only a small amount of staining on the walls. Daily housekeeping is provided, with towels and bottled water replenished each day. The toilet is equipped with a bidet, shampoo, and body wash (though toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other grooming amenities are not provided). The hotel also offers complimentary 24H snacks, soda, and coffee at the lobby, along with a water dispenser with 3 temperature settings. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

The main downside is that the hotel occupies the 12th and 13th floors of building shared with a cinema, restaurants, and retail stores on the lower floors. Although there are three elevators, queues can form during peak periods. I recall waiting approximately 10 minutes for a lift at around 6:45pm on a Friday. The bathroom door does not have a lock, which may be something to consider if you are travelling with friends.

10min walk to Shuanglian MRT station and Chifeng Street. Family Mart and 7-11 just next door. Hotel provides washing machine, dryer and detergent for free. There are also free snacks, coffee and soft drinks at level 2. Toilet bowl is heated (like those in Japan). Only downside is, there’s lack of wardrobe/space to hang clothes and shower temperature and pressure are not the most consistent. Do note that hotel does not provide toothbrush and toothpaste. Bottled water, hair dryer, electric kettle and bedroom slippers are available. If you have huge luggage or baby stroller, space might be an issue.

Very close to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, just a 3-minute walk. The front desk staff were very friendly. There are various snacks and a self-service coffee machine next to the front desk for guests to enjoy. It seemed like the outlets in the room were faulty because my phone wasn't charging well.

The cleanliness of the room needs improvement. Upon checking in, there was a sticky, unknown substance on the table. The toilet seat had small, unidentifiable stains that couldn't be cleaned, and there was hair in the bathtub. Other than these issues, everything else was great! The location is excellent, there's a car park, the air conditioning works well, and there's plenty of hot water.

The overall environment was very clean, and the front desk service was excellent!

• 24-hour self-service snack area (behind the lobby on 1F): Ice cream, drinks, coffee, cookies, and instant noodles are always available. In the mornings, bread and toast are also provided. The seating area is comfortable and quiet, with some magazines available, making it a great place to relax.

• Free massage chairs (2F): There are four massage chairs that you can use anytime.

• Double room space: Both the room and bathroom were quite clean and spacious.

Minor drawbacks: The room window was a bit small; also, the soundproofing in the bathroom was a bit weak, as you could hear footsteps from upstairs. However, it became quieter late at night and didn't affect sleep. Overall, the minor flaws didn't detract from the experience, and I still highly recommend it!
