"Of all the camps in the area to choose from I highly recommend staying at this particular one. The manager Wang Shiquan and his team are incredibly good hosts and made sure I had everything I needed. As a foreigner I felt incredibly welcomed and included. The tents are of really good quality and very roomy. The beds are really comfy too. The activities are also plentiful with quad biking, camel riding and sandboarding. Shapotou is very close by too with much to do. Ningxia is definitely an underrated province and I highly recommend anyone to come and see it and experience the kind hospitality of it's people from this camp. Thank you for a great stay."

"The Mars Cabin was incredibly comfortable and clean, with a full range of children's amenities, making it perfect for families. The hotel's personalized service was excellent. My child was just over 1.2 meters tall, but the hotel didn't charge extra. There were plenty of activities, so we never got bored. A special thanks to our butler, Xiao Zhao, who basically responded to our WeChat messages instantly. Whenever we needed a shuttle, he'd arrange it within 5 minutes. When I was leaving the hotel, my car accidentally got stuck in a sand pit. Under the scorching midday sun, Butler Xiao Zhao spent over an hour tirelessly helping me – putting down planks, shoveling sand, pushing the car, and finally coordinating the hotel's tow truck, even though my rental car didn't even have a tow hook (a note to Shenzhou Car Rental: provide cars with tow hooks!). He finally got my car out."

The hotel is conveniently located just 2km from Zhongwei Railway Station and 7km from Zhongwei Shapotou Airport. The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including Zhongwei Drum Tower, Tengger Desert Starry International Desert Camping Site and Xiangyang Street Night Market. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service. For guests traveling with groups of friends, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.
"Facilities: The room was absolutely superb! There were three of us adults and three children, and it had exactly three beds, plus everything else we needed. Such great value for money! Cleanliness: The room was very clean and tidy. Even though it's in the desert, there wasn't a single grain of sand inside. Environment: The environment was fantastic! There were 'bubble' tents set up, free sandboards, and even sand-digging tools. They thoughtfully put up a canopy over the sand-digging area. Service: The owner's service attitude was truly exceptional. This trip was amazing, everyone we met was so kind. I highly recommend this place; the overall value for money is excellent. Round-trip shuttle from desert entrance to hotel: The owner herself came to pick us up and even helped us with our luggage. As a fellow woman, I have to admire her – she just effortlessly picked up the bags! Desert bonfire party & fireworks show: It was during the Dragon Boat Festival, so it was incredibly crowded. The bonfire party was brilliant, a really great experience."

"I stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!"

"The hotel is conveniently located near local attractions. The bonfire party and fireworks at night were beautiful and relaxing. We even experienced the desert climate in a unique way when it rained. The educational activities were also a lot of fun, and the hotel provided sandboarding equipment, which my child thoroughly enjoyed. The owner was very welcoming, and the hotel's restaurant served delicious local specialties. They even gave us a gift, which made our stay incredibly happy! 😋"

"This hotel is truly unique. Its rammed earth architecture blends seamlessly with the sand dunes, creating an exotic Silk Road vibe. The infinity pool, desert bonfire, and stargazing platform are all incredibly picturesque. Waking up to a sunrise over the sand sea and seeing the Milky Way at night offers an unparalleled luxury desert experience. There's a wide array of activities, like dune bashing and camel riding, which are both therapeutic and stress-relieving. It's fantastic for travel photography – absolutely stunning! The service is also impeccable. Our dedicated butler provided attentive support throughout our stay, available 24/7. We had car transfers for both arrival and departure, and upon check-in, we were greeted with refreshments and a travel guide. All our small requests were promptly addressed. The food was authentic and delicious, and the staff were gentle and polite, always helpful without being intrusive. It’s amazing to find such warmth and hospitality in the middle of a vast desert. Both the scenery and the service are top-notch; everyone, adults and children alike, had a wonderful time. Highly recommend! "The campground is inside the Impression Tengger Scenic Area. There are campgrounds all around (I checked and found that almost all the ones offering free Tengger tickets are located nearby). Sandstorm offers the best value. 😁 The service was excellent. Mr. Li contacted me right after booking to confirm how to get to the campground. (If you drive, you can only reach the scenic area entrance; it's all desert inside and you have to change cars. There's no guide, and you don't know the way. 😂) Tengger activities are right next to it. The hotel has a bonfire, iron flower making, fireworks, and a karaoke bar. It's all quite lively. After 5 or 6, when the sun isn't so strong, it's wonderful to walk along the sand dunes for two or three hours. It's refreshing and you can even watch the sunset. The shared bathrooms are also quite spacious, with lockers and benches for storing clothes. A tip for you ladies: wash and change into your regular shoes before returning to your tent (you'll still get sandy if you wear slippers. 😂) It rained this time, so unfortunately I couldn't see the stars, but it was a special experience. Even with the strong wind and heavy rain, sand didn't get into the tent, which was great. 😀"
