Cheap Hotels in Lisbon

"Our room was a top-floor suite. One bedroom had two beds, and the living room had a double sofa bed. The bathroom was equipped with towels and a 3-in-1 body wash, shampoo, and hand soap. There was a hairdryer, but no toothbrush or toothpaste. The entire suite felt very new and clean, probably recently renovated. There's a small balcony where you can enjoy drinks and conversation with friends, and the view is quite nice. The hotel offers a self-service breakfast for an additional fee, and the food was good and hot. It's a basic Western breakfast with a sufficient variety of dishes. The staff were all very friendly. The location is also quite close to the city center, but without the noise of being right in the middle of it. It's about a 20-minute walk from the hotel to the city center, with many restaurants along the way. Getting to the hotel from the airport by metro, transferring to the red line and then the green line, was actually very convenient. The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the metro station."

"The hotel's facilities are pretty good for Southern Europe, comparable to a Quanji Hotel in China. It hasn't been open long, so everything still feels relatively new. However, there are a few issues: First, the room doors offer absolutely no soundproofing. If other rooms slam their doors or are noisy, you'll hear everything crystal clear in your own room. Also, this area is quite close to the airport, and the soundproofing isn't perfect, so you'll hear airplane noise. I always travel with earplugs, so this didn't bother me too much, but without them, it would definitely disrupt your sleep. Secondly, there are clear management issues, leading to poor attention to detail. For instance, the pictures show bathrobes and disposable slippers are provided, but they weren't. The hand soap dispenser bottle and the liquid inside aren't compatible, making it very difficult to dispense. For a four-star hotel, they still use simple sheets instead of duvet covers – just two sheets sandwiching the duvet – so your body can easily come into contact with the duvet insert, which might not be washed as frequently, raising hygiene concerns. Finally, the hotel lobby bar is huge, but it's empty at night, and they surprisingly don't allow guests to bring outside food in. We had packed a roasted chicken and wanted to eat it in the open-air lobby bar to avoid making our room smell, but we were actually kicked out. This is the first time I've heard of a four-star hotel refusing to provide any public space for guests to eat. Are we supposed to eat on the street? It felt very disrespectful. However, I visited during the off-season, and excluding city tax, it was less than 600 RMB per night. So, these minor flaws were somewhat acceptable. If the price were higher, I would definitely recommend looking for other, better options."

"The hotel is very beautiful. Location is great. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was ok. The night staff did not give any instructions on how to access the elevator, breakfast information and no friendliness. It seemed like they didn't want to be there working."

"The hotel was clean and in a good location for what we needed, it lacks any atmosphere and we had a bad experience at the hotel bar with the server who refused to let us play a family game of UNO telling us it was illegal (its not) he clearly didn't want us to spend any money in his bar as a family group."

"Excellent location - It was just a few minutes' walk from the metro station and very close to Parque Eduardo VII, where the Christmas market was (and I enjoyed it very much!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. I encountered some problems on arrival, and they sorted them out immediately. Give them a bug thumbs up. The facilities were basic but had everything I needed. Given such a cheap price, I won't ask for more. I felt a bit cold at night even though I had a hot water bottle. I was staying on the top floor and it was December (I feel cold easily anyway). Maybe they can try to make it warmer?"

"The front desk was extremely helpful whether it was arranging an early check in, providing directions or just overall information. The hotel is in a great location, right at the Metro, Hop on Hop Off Bus, or walking distance to the various sights to see in Lisbon. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay again."

"The room was clean. It was a Hollywood twin room with soft beds and two types of pillows, two of each, plus two extra cushions. There were power outlets by the bed, and light switches on both sides of the bed. The shower was handheld, but the drainage was poor. Be careful, as the water will overflow towards the toilet if you keep it running. There was no shampoo or conditioner, only a combined soap dispenser. The male staff member at night was completely unfriendly. The location was convenient, just 200m to the above-ground entrance of Baixa-Chiado station and a 2-minute walk to Tram 28 stop. The mobile signal was bad, so the hotel's Wi-Fi was essential."

"It seems the front desk staff go to sleep after midnight, and guests can't get in. I think it's important to confirm this beforehand. My friend and I arrived separately, and both of our flights were delayed, so we arrived in the middle of the night. My friend apparently arrived exactly at midnight and tried to call the front desk, but the staff wouldn't let him in until they came out. They eventually let him in somehow. While I understand the hotel's perspective, our flight delays were unavoidable. We were exhausted from the late-night travel due to the delays, and we had already paid for our stay, so the service we received was quite unsatisfactory. Furthermore, our room had no air conditioning, and although there was a window, the ventilation was poor, so I can't really say it was a good experience."
