ChristienMFantastic hostel, with a really friendly team who are great at giving tips on what to do and eat in the area (even if you are vegan like me!). The hostel is clean and the facilities are modern. Itâs located very close to the train station for taking the train or bus to nearby attractions. And for getting into Taitung City you can rent a bike for free from the hostel

Due to some traffic reasons, we reached there pretty late around 930pm. The owner called us to check if we need any help, and patiently waited until we reach there, explain the house and rules. Really cozy and quiet environments, the facilities are absurd! 1000% worth the price. My floor is the lowest one, and itâs super clean. Highly recommended. Only cons is that youâd have to walk a little bit from the train station here (or you can just grab a cab for just little bit money though).

Worst welcome I ever had to a hotel. Duty manager refused to let me leave my day bag at reception to allow me to collect 2 heavy suitcases from my previous hotel nearby before checking in, ye having verified my reservation. This left a hugely bad taste in my mouth that soured the next three nights at this place. Billed as 4 star but 3 at best. Room cleaning not done thoroughly, gym is tiny with broken equipment and only light weights. Mugs provided in room are so small that they are not suitable for the drip coffee bags they provide. If only they would give a spoon to stir the coffee with! AC in room does not go below 22 degrees centigrade in Auto mode. Staff are all uptight and clearly not enjoying their work - bad working environment evidently, no surprise judging by the duty managerâs attitude. All I got from the receptionist at check-out was a dry âOKâ. I will not be returning.

Donald MaTaitung is a small town. And so this hotel is pretty much in the âcenterâÂ
Across the street is a convenience store opening 24 hours. Nearby is a cinema. There are some small shops and bars nearby. If you crave a burger - Burger King is a 10-min walk away.Â
As for the hotel - itâs got a lot of what business travelers need. 24 hour laundry machines and dryer. Itâs got a small gym with treadmill, elliptical, indoor bike and a small weight rack with a bench. The television channels are not very international - with all of the news channels only coming from Taiwan.Â
My room was clean, and there is a separate shower and toilet area - convenient for couples staying together. Bed is decent, clean and I would say that the room can get quite hot if you donât turn on the AC. At the evenings, I was awaken a few times from the warmth in the room despite having the AC on. (To be fair - it was 32 degrees Celsius outdoors)
Breakfast is very plentiful. From cooked Chinese dishes to simple western breakfast choices like eggs, toast and fruits. Salads are always available and the coffee machine is self serve. (I wasnât able to find a good Long Black anywhere in this town)Â
From the hotel to the Taitung train station is about 15mins by taxi. Use Line Go to reserve as it is most convenient. Surprisingly, even during 8:00am on a weekday, getting a cab on this App was easy.Â
Hope this helps if you have to go to Taitung

This was my second stay here, and both times the check-in process was very smooth and quiet. The only minor issue is that the soundproofing of the doors isn't the best; if you have your phone volume on full blast in the room, people outside can hear it at about half volume. However, everyone seems to be considerate and keeps noise levels down, so I never heard any sounds from other guests during my stay. This means if everyone respects the quiet, you'll have a fantastic experience. I've stayed twice and never been bothered by noise. Even when the cleaning staff were working in the morning, the noise was minimal, just a slight rustle. Overall, it's virtually silent.

Guest UserThe location is right next to the transit station, offering many route options whether you're coming from the train station or heading to the suburbs, though bus frequencies are low. There's also a paid parking lot across the street, which is convenient if you're driving. Nearby, you'll find department stores, a cinema, a night market, and a regular market, making it very lively with excellent amenities.
The hotel uses a fully self-check-in system with no staff visible on site. There's only one check-in machine, placed a bit out of the way, which I didn't notice immediately upon arrival. After completing the process, you receive a password to open the main door.
There's no elevator, and the male dorm room is on the 4th floor. The only common facility is a water dispenser. The toilet is located inside the room and combined with the shower. If all beds are occupied, you might have to wait to use the bathroom.
The room size is decent, and the bed is quite comfortable. Overall, it's a reasonably comfortable stay, especially for a solo traveler for one or two nights, and the price is affordable. However, if you have concerns about shared bathroom facilities, I'd advise against visiting during peak season!

@lyj88goodFrom the moment I arrived, this accommodation exuded comfort. The booking process was straightforward, and my inquiries were answered promptly and kindly. The meticulous attention to detail, from check-in to check-out, and the respect for the guests' time, was truly impressive.
The surrounding scenery and air were incredibly clear and refreshing. Thanks to this, even a morning stroll felt incredibly healing. The breakfast was also excellent value for money and very satisfying. The cleanliness was impeccably maintained, making for a worry-free stay.
This wasn't just a place to sleep; it was an accommodation that made the entire trip a joyful experience. If I visit this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose it once more.

twinkleracI had a pleasant stay at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel 4 years ago, so thought I'd try Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II this time, as they are located near to each other, very close to the bus station and Tiehua Village. This is a great location to explore the city. However, other than the superb location and the bigger room, there isn't much else to love about this hotel.
There was literally no service at this branch. Staff were not welcoming and unlike other hotels in Taiwan, they do not greet guests when you are at the lobby. I also never saw any of them smile at guests. In fact, on my first day of check-in, I was blatantly told to check in at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel instead, because âthe hotel is closed for the dayâ. When I asked how come I was not informed earlier, the staff answered âbecause you don't have a Taiwan mobile numberâ. This is absurd to me, isn't there the Trip.com messaging service where you can contact guests? Very disappointed with the way they handle such cases, no apology at all, and just gives a very transactional feeling. The only time I encountered a staff who greeted me was at the breakfast restaurant.
Room amenities and facilities look like they need proper maintenance, and the windows were so dirty. The bed was also not very comfortable to sleep on.
Lastly, I know Taiwan hotel breakfasts are usually not so nice compared to eating out in the breakfast shops, but the quality of the breakfast was really bad. Seasonal fresh fruit selection was only watermelon on 1 morning, and guava + watermelon on another.
In conclusion, very disappointed with my stay here this time. Will definitely think twice about returning to Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II the next time I visit Taitung again.

Guest UserWhile the facilities are new, there's considerable room for improvement in overall service. Here are a few points for consideration:
1. Before arrival, I received a call asking if I'd be okay changing from a king-bed room to two twin beds, which I agreed to. However, upon checking in, I found the room's window to be unusually small and the room quite dark. When I raised this with the front desk, they claimed I had already confirmed the change. This room clearly didn't match the photos, especially since I had specifically booked a higher-priced room. It only makes sense to switch to a two-twin-bed room if it's of a comparable price and quality. Eventually, they moved me to a quad room with a large window.
2. During check-in, when confirming payment, I was told my credit card had only been pre-authorized and not actually charged yet. However, the Trip.com app clearly showed that payment had already been made. This created a bad impression. If I had allowed the front desk to swipe my card again, I would have been double-charged. There seems to be a significant loophole in their payment management system, which could easily lead to disputes later on and should be addressed immediately.
3. In the bathroom, the shower stall only has a quarter-glass panel separating it from the sink area. After showering, the floor around the sink was completely soaked. A full glass sliding door or a shower curtain is definitely needed to prevent water from splashing all over the bathroom floor during a shower.
4. I needed a late check-out because my event didn't finish until noon, and I was aware of the 200/hour charge. I informed the front desk that morning, but upon returning, I found my key card had been deactivated, and I couldn't access my room. There's clearly a communication breakdown among the internal staff.
5. Upon check-in, breakfast was an additional 100 per person. However, when I went for breakfast, no one asked for my room number, which made me wonder if non-paying guests could also dine there. Including breakfast in the room rate might prevent such misunderstandings, or they should strictly enforce payment confirmation before allowing guests to eat.
